Relax and watch the sun sparkle on the water - Butler Rental

Modern Cape Cod style home right on the shores of Watauga Lake - the third cleanest lake in the US according to the TVA. Fish from the shore or rent or bring your own boat and tie it to the dock. Gentle shoreline is great for teaching little ones how to swim.

In the spring, the fish come almost ashore to spawn. The dogwoods bloom and the mountains surrounding the cottage are alive with bird song and budding trees. Be sure to see the redbuds around the lake!

In summer the lake is warm, not a cold mountain lake as it is a damned up river - perfect for cooling off or swimming all day. Great for kids to go fishing from the dock.

In fall, the dogwoods turn brilliant red; the pines are still green and the sun casts amazing color patterns over the water.

Winter is the time to walk along the shore and gather shells. The lake is let down making a wide beach for playing in - and for fishing from. If there is enough snow (we don't get a lot), take a platter sled and skid down the lawn to the lake edge.

In every season a reason to visit.

Suitability	Pet Friendly: Extra fee for pets - shots should be up-to-date and on a flea/tick plan Handicapped Accessible: Because the water comes right up and onto the lawn, the gentle slope makes walking into the water easy. However, it is NOT a sandy beach, it is mud so water shoes are recommended. Wheelchair Accessible: First floor bedroom/bath are wheelchair accessible. Ramp into the front door. Kid Friendly: Great location for kids Minimum Age Limit for Renters: 25 years old Smoking Not Allowed: NO SMOKING ALLOWED. If smoking and/or butts are detected, a charge of $500 will be made to the credit card on file to cover the cost of getting rid of the smell.
