Collioure - jewel of the Vermillion Coast, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean and made famous by Picasso, Matisse and Fauvism. Imagine yourself basking on the beach near the sparkling Mediterranean in this ancient fishing village filled with art, music and soul.
Our home, Chez Magic, is a three story stone fisherman's house on the most colorful, creative street in town. The ground floor is L'Art Vivant Gallery, the second floor is our personal apartment/art studio available by your special request. The third floor is a self contained rental unit furnished beautifully with a double bed loft and a single day bed in the living room. It has good light, a large private bath and a fully equipped kitchenette. Ideal for a couple, as it is one large room with minimal walls.

My friend and I rented this apartment and absolutely loved it. It is so cute and has the perfect location on the "gallery street" in the old part of town. With no restaurants or bars on the street it was quite at night and because we were so close to the pier and center of town it was a short walk to all the action. We found the grocery stores and a deli and were pleased to have our own kitchen to prepare most of our meals, but did enjoy local restaurants also. The stairs up to the apartment are very steep and tiny, not recommended for people who don't climb stairs well. If you have a huge suitcase, unload it at the bottom, or travel like like we do! Collioure is a wonderful town for art and history lovers, and the Catalan culture is interesting too. Most tourists seem to be German, few Americans.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
