We have enjoyed the many hours of wonderful fishing at Hat Creek, Fall River Mills, Pit River above the falls, Baum Lake, Crystal Lake & Lake Britton. There is fishing within 2 minutes from the house and up to 20 minutes away. If you golf, Fall River Valley Golf Course & Country Club is a 20 minute drive.

The house has a large game room with a full size pool table & a ping-pong table top. There are many board games for all ages or bring your favorite game. There is a large backyard with an 8 ft fence. Great for a game of croquet. (provided).

The family room has 2 recliners in the sofa and 2 recliners in the loveseat for a quick nap between morning and evening fishing. The house is decorated with a fun fishing theme. You can enjoy watching the deer in the evening on the front lawn.

During the winter months, there is still fishing for trout at the lakes. We enjoyed the snow last winter and skiing/snowboarding at Shasta board and ski park. We are always refreshed after vacationing in Cassel. (10 miles from Burney).

  • This vacation house was beautiful. We loved the green front and back yards-where we come from, there aren't much like it. We were also given the chance to see deer closely in our yard. The inside was very comfortable and the theme was very appropriate. To enhance the theme, the owner really did a great job with the choice of furnishings. There is a creek a short distance away that is swarming with pretty good sized rainbow trout. To help cook our trout, the house had a very well stocked kitchen. For the kids, the game room has a pool and ping pong table that the kids immensely enjoyed. We are so satisfied with our time in Cassel that we are planning to go back as soon as possible.

  • There were 10 of us that stayed during the month of February 2008 and had a wonderful, fun and relaxing time. We even got to play in the snow! The home is spacious and comfortable and is very easy to feel at home. The beds and linens are excellent! No hotel feel here at all. The kitchen cupboards were labled (and well stocked)so it made it real easy for everybody to pitch in for cooking and clean up. The very large master bedroom that me and my husband stayed in also has a twin bed that our 3 year old slept in so that made it very convenient. None of us wanted to leave!! We will be coming back again!

  • This was our second time vacationing in this wonderful home. Our first vacation was in September of 2007, when we brought the entire family with us. We are all avid fishermen, and this home is in the perfect location as it is near our favorite fishing spots. This house is truely a "home away from home"! The kitchen is everything a cook could ask for. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and the beds comfortable, with quality linens. We spent alot of time in the game room, playing pool. We even threw horseshoes in the backyard. This past January we were once again blessed to spend time in this lovely home. Just the two of us this time for a romantic anniversary get away. We thought it would be cold, but we weresurprisingly toasty warm inside as we watched to snow fall outside! This is a wonderful place to spend a peaceful vacation, whether with a large group, or just for two! Thank you Tim and Wanda, you are wonderful hosts!!

  • Our family spent the Labor Day weekend at this property this year, and had a wonderful time. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood. There were 10 of us and the house accommodated all of us very comfortably and with room to spare. The kitchen was very well appointed and a pleasure to cook in. There was plenty to keep us occupied there with games of all kinds, pool, ping-pong, movies, etc. You really do see deer in the front yard every morning and every evening. What a great setting and a wonderful weekend. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!!

  • Very quiet, nicely appointed home with good linens, cute bedrooms, spa tub, and excellent kitchen with updated appliances. We enjoyed our stay very much. Don't miss Burney Falls. About 2 hours to Lava Beds National Monument--bring flashlights for the caves!

  • My father and I having been fishing Hat Creek for 50 years and never had such a wonderful place to stay. Since we are getting a little older it was great to be a short walk to the fishing. It was a great place to come home to at the end of the day. We even missed some fishing because we were having fun in the home.

  • An incredibly relaxing spot. Enjoyed watching the dear in the front yard. Brought 4 teenagers who didn't complain once!!!!!! Game room was great and the home lovely. Wish we had more time to check out the lake nearby. We'll definatly return.

    Cassel is a great place for peace and quiet. We have not been this relaxed in along time. The area is beautiful. The house is wonderful, expecially with the woodstove going and a cup of hot chocolate. We really liked the whole atmosphere.
