- Ski-In : Black Eagle is in Mountain Village and at the foot of the Bear Back ski run, providing great ski-in/ski-out access. As such, guests have several options to ski into Black Eagle #1. First, skiing down "Silver Knife" to "Bear Back" brings you to the bottom of the "Bear Back" run and within 25 steps to Black Eagle #1. Another option is to ski to the Plaza area via the many major runs that flow there, and then ski 1/4 mile down alongside Black Eagle road to Black Eagle #1.
- Ski-Out : You have three ski-out options at Black Eagle. First, with the Black Bear Poma Lift 50 feet away (about 25 steps), you nearly are at the foot of your own ski lift, providing easy ski-out access. Second, to access more advanced terrain quickly, more experienced skiers may start out by skiing directly out of our home down Black Eagle Road to Low Dog Road down to the Lone Moose Triple lift and the Thunder Wolf High Speed Quad. Third, if the Big Sky Plaza area is where you want to start your day, you are only 1/4 mile walk to the Plaza, housing several major lifts including the Ramcharger and Swift-Current High-Speed Quads, the Gondola, and the Explorer double.

Of all our vacations, we loved our Big Sky vacations the most. So, we bought here. We wanted a place that our family could come and enjoy the west, ski, and be together in an amazing and adventurous place. We think Montana offers a place to take in a piece of the world that is still "wilderness" yet our home offers a great place to return. We like taking in the outdoors to the max, then returning to a place of tranquility, luxury, and relaxation with all the comforts (and then some!) of home. Whether summer or winter, Black Eagle #1 in Big Sky, MT is a great place to have fun, and recharge your batteries.

This property was outstanding! It not only met our needs, in many cases it exceeded them. The location was perfect for the trips we made to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, and waterskiing at a nearby lake (summer vacation.) The home was beautifully decorated leaving no detail undone. There was so much room that is was great for our family get together with all of us having appropriate bedding, towels, fully stocked dinnerware /cookware. The owners were very personable and thorough in making sure all of our needs were met - including the post vacation follow up. We would highly recommend this property to friends and family, and will most likely enjoy it again on future vacations.

The location of Black Eagle 1 was very convenient for skiing. We could walk to mountain village for meals and shopping. The town home layout was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 4 children. The lower floor rec room was a great hangout for the kids, leaving the great room upstairs for adult time. The kitchen had a terrific layout for cooking and we are avid cooks. The snow was great, skiing awesome. A great time was had by all.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

This rental was as great as the pictures--clean & well maintained. Our week's rental was in June so there was not much happening at the ski resort; however, there are many hiking/biking trails around and we loved the solitude of having the whole place to ourselves. The owner's suggestions about buying groceries before arriving, and what was available were well taken. The scenery & wildlife was amazing! The whole family fell in love with our first trip to Montana.

Perfect home for families looking for beauty, space, comfort and luxury! Our two families had plenty of room to roam in this house, but we all ended up in the gourmet kitchen and living room together at the end of every blissful day of skiing! The owners have thought of everything: from the array of tools and equipment in the kitchen to the ski racks and boot dryers in the garage. They are great to work with, too! They are good communicators, excited to share the property with their rental guests and professional in every transaction. The mountain is convenient and easily accessed from the house. Start the morning with a run or snowshoe adventure up the mountain before sunrise. End your day with a glass of wine watching the sunset behind Lone Peak. Big Sky is a dream ski destination, and Black Eagle Lodge is a dream lodge to rent. Lucky us!

Our family had a wonderful time at Black Eagle 1 within Big Sky Resort. Myself , my husband, six kids and one son's girlfriend spent a delightful week skiing, snowmobiling, playing charades by the fire at night, reading and just enjoying each other's company. The Black Eagle condo was easily accessible to the poma lift which took us right up to two of the high speed quads. We were all of different skiing abilities (and snowboarding) and found that the terrain available was appropriate and yet diverse enough for all of us. We would all meet back at the condo for lunch which really cut down on our expenses. The condo easily accomodated all of us, was very tastefully furnished and had everything we needed for cooking most of our meals. We made up teams and assigned dinner preparation days. It was easy to whip up tasty dinners in the well equipped and spacious kitchen area. We really appreciated the garage for storing our skis and poles. The furnace room in the garage was perfect for warming our boots for the next day. None of us complained of cold feet. The hot tub maintained its temperature and was very relaxing after a day on the slopes. All in all, having skied at Vail, Snowmass, Steamboat and Park City -- this was our best ski vacation yet. So, Harnett brothers, I guess it is now up to you to maintain the high standards.

This condo was AWESOME. Plenty of room (3 floors), gorgeous decor, short walking distance to Mountain Village (and MAIN chair lift), although there is a smaller lift right across the street for ski-in/ski-out - and a great fireplace with PLENTY of wood for a weeks's stay! I didn't want to come home! (and I live in a beautiful home in Naples, FL)! Big Sky lift lines are MILD - especially compared to more popular ski resorts. The slopes were NEVER packed, even in late January! Although it was very cold, we layered up and got out there. Even at 10 degrees, there was sunshine and the scenery was magnificent. Speaking of scenery, the view from this condo is BREATHTAKING. The living room picture windows (floor to ceiling) are the frames for a snow-covered mountainous backdrop - and we were lucky enough to be there for the full moon, which rose up over the mountain and stayed until dawn! UNBELIEVABLE view! I can't say enough about the owners, as well. They were so quick to respond and completely detail oriented. The packet of info. they send you is perfect - you don't miss a step in getting to the condo, getting in, or even turning on the large TV with surround sound and Satellite. The instructions were flawless! Overall, this was one of the best trips we have ever taken. The condo was a huge part of our relaxation and ability to de-compress from life back home! You won't be sorry!!!!
