Located directly on a very private beach, Frenchman's Beach Villa is centrally located on the southside of St. Thomas in Frenchman's Bay about a 15 minute drive from the airport. The Villa, built in the early 80's has a beach cottage feel and offers all the comforts of home at a very economical price. The Villa is located in a private, safe neighborhood of comparable homes. In fact, Cote Sud is our neighbor.
Not only can you swim, snorkel, or kayak as much as you please from the beach, you can kayak to three different large sandy beaches... all within a ten minute kayak. Marriott's Morningstar Beach, Bluebeards Limetree Beach Club, and a totally secluded beach known as Green Cay Beach (that you can only get to by water).
Frenchman's Beach Villa is centrally located to all of the major activites on the island of St. Thomas. Most destinations are less than 10 minutes away. The Villa is ideal for wedding parties, family reunions or other large groups. It's also right around the corner from the Marriot.
St. Thomas boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Besides the beach you will be on, only a few minutes drive from the Villa is a favorite - Magen's Bay (one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world). Going north from the Villa you will find Coki Beach with the famous Coral World aquariums and interactive sealife activities, plus excellent snorkeling. A little further is Sapphire Beach, famous for it's brilliant turquoise, blue water and white, sandy beach. On Sunday afternoon, one of the well known local bands will play lively Caribbean music. All are welcome to join in the fun.
Next comes Red Hook. A lively community with many wonderful eating, shopping and browsing spots. It's also the location of the Ferry dock for trips to St. John and Tortola. You won't want to forget the duty free shopping centered in and around the main harbor of Charlotte Amalie with it's historic sites. And then there is Frenchtown with its wonderful selection of gourmet restaurants.

Frenchmans Beach villa was an excellent choice for our family. It is located in a safe area of beatuiful homes. It was also very close to all the attractions that we wanted to visit. We were visiting St. Thomas for a wedding at Marriott Frenchmans Reef and this location was perfect. The kids absolutely loved the beach and the snorkelling was great! The kayaks were a lot of fun and there were more beaches very close by. John and Stacey - the caretakers - were very helpful and friendly and recommended wonderful activities and provided 'insider advice'. Safe, Clean and comfortable accomodations for the price. We would stay there again on any visit to St. Thomas.

My husband & I and our 3 young children stayed at this villa in February 2010. We found it to be private, relaxing and comfortable. We all enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking and swimming at this secluded beach. The accomodations were spacious and well-kept and the views are gorgeous from this elevated position. This beachfront location is private, yet convenient to just about everything we wanted to do. Favorite spots: Magen's Bay and Coki Beach. We would return to this villa again.

We were very disappointed in the condition of this property. The house was dirty, windows and window coverings were inoperable, there was mildew throughout the house, deck railings were rotten and unsafe, and appliances did not work. Also, the beach shown in the property advertisement looks sandy when in fact it is rocky and difficult for swimming.
Owner response:We have a motto at the VIlla." If you're happy, tell your friends. If not, please tell us." Unfortunately, these individuals chose not to tell the caretaker they were unhappy until day almost the last day of their stay. They also did not rent a car as we recommended and were disappointed when we did not let them have access to our personal vehicle. The caretaker at the time spent several hours helping them obtain a vehicle and, once notified, arranged for additional cleaning to be done. The home is older and is right on the ocean and is susceptible to all the elements. Repairs are made when needed and at no time were accessible areas unsafe. We take this into consideration when pricing the home for rental. These individuals should have gone to a resort like the Ritz or the Marriott which are newer and offer many nice amenities but for a significantly higher price. I think it's important to note that there was also an attempt to extort a refund from us by threatening a bad review -- thus taking them seven months to write a review.

My family had a wonderful time in St. John during the New Years Holiday. The house worked out perfectly allowing all twelve of us to visit and cook dinner as a group several nights. The care taker was very helpful with assisting with restaurants. I was dissappointed in the cleanliness of the house, which several members of the group also commented on. The house is also in need of some updating and maintenance.

Our family stayed at Frenchman's Beach Villa the last week of May, 2006. We loved the location with its private beach. Snorkeling is excellent right off the beach. The villa is spacious and comfortable in a safe area of nice homes. The caretakers, John and Stacy, were very helpful to us before the trip and during our stay. I highly recommend it as a good value for the price. We would definitely stay there again when we next visit St. Thomas.
