There is a great babbling brook on the property that runs into the lake. Until ski season, the lake is great for fishing; it's stocked with Catfish, Trout, Bass, Bluegills, Sunnies, and more! It's also a great lake for swimming and afternoon fun! Approximately 2 hours from NYC, off exit 20 on the NYS Thruway.

Our group gives this house 5 stars for ''excellent'' because that's what it deserves based on our experience here. The owners were both professional and prompt to respond from the start. We booked the house with ease and then received a ''welcome package'' that really was helpful during our stay. You can tell the owners put a lot into renting their home and actually care. The house itself when we arrived was fresh and clean and updated!! I thought this was a really big plus because we felt it was a hotel-type experience but a nice sized house up in the mountains (really nice views by the way). In other words, we've stayed at other houses in the area and the bedding and decor looks very ''mountain'' and dated. The beds/decor, etc. in this house made you feel like you were staying at a hotel, really liked it! Our group was 10 people and I thought a bathroom on all three floors of the house was convenient. Thought it's worth mentioning to anyone that is considering staying at this house. Oh, and the price was a really great value as compared to other homes we looked into- we will definately be back for a ski trip, hopefully in February if the house is available!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.

Our family has been renting houses for a while now, all over Hunter Mountain and in the Catskill Region. We came across this listing not even expecting that the pictures listed of the views, are the actual views from almost anywhere you are in the house! The views were AMAZING. To us, this is the reason we get away and want to get out of the city every once in a while. This made ALL of the difference to us. The house itself was clean and fresh, you can see that the owners have made many updates and while we were there, were in the process of even more renovations. Well mantained, spacicious- uniquie in the floor layout to allow for such a beautiful intake of the views of Catskill Mountains and to feel really big. Absolutely gorgeous. We would both recommend this to other family friends of ours as well as return again this year, for sure.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank YOU! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and would like to stay with us again soon. Much of our business comes from repeat renters and we offer a discount to repeat groups. We look forward to hopefully hearing from you again in the near future- thank you for your business! Alison

We recently rented this house, 4 couples, and had an amazing weekend at this beautiful house is a pretty amazing setting- especially for this time of year! The house was updated and very clean! We were able to capture the essence of the Catskills and Hunter Mountain being in such a seemingly open house overlooking the mountains. If you're looking for something truly peaceful for a weekend, this is an amazing house- both inside and out! Thank you to the owners for helping to make our stay as worry free and pleasurable as possible and we would love to try to return again this winter for a ski weekend!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.

Liked everything about the house for our ski weekend. We've rented a few houses over the years and this one was by far the nicest in it's price range. Plenty of space for our group to feel comfortable in. Woodburning stove/fireplace was nice and the big open feel from each of the three floors to the outside views of the mountain were EXCELLENT. Also, close to everything yet very private. I'd recommend this to any group that wants to ski Hunter Mountain.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+.

About the owner: We are a family with three young children that try to take them to this house as often as we can in both the summer and ski seasons. We reside in NJ and and have been sucessfully renting this house out for about 5 years now. We enjoy running the business of renting it out to guests to enjoy the gorgeous views, serenity and convenient location to both mountains in the Catskills!
Why the Owner Chose Hunter Mountain:
We bought this house because of it's location. We think the Catskills are gorgeous and that Hunter and Windam Mountains have a lot going on. The house itself seemed special to us because of the gorgeous views of mountains staring at you from all three levels of the house which sits on a small private lake. The lake is shared by two other familes, none of which you can see from the house and everyone seems to really love the time they spend on this property.
