Location: Kailua, East Oahu, Oahu, Hawaii, USA (20 minutes from airport)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths (Sleeps 2-6)
The Hula House is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. It is an Older (not perfect) Hawaiian Style home that we all love here. It now has a beautiful new kitchen with granite counter tops and new flooring. The house is very open and airy, has wood laminate floors and a large beautiful fenced back yard. Take the Red Wagon with all the beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, and go have a good time at the Beach.
Hula House is 5-10 minutes walking distance, a block and a half to the most beautiful beach in the world, Kailua Beach and 10 minutes drive down the road to Lanikai Beach. Over the hill to Kaneohe. Five minutes to the Marine Base. Maybe a 20 minute walk to Kailua town and 5 minute drive.
Kailua is a quaint town that is easy to walk around to all the cute shops, go bowling, rent bikes and kayaks, surfboards, hang gliders, windsurf and much more. Yes we do have cable high speed internet.
Thursday mornings the farmers Open market is behind the Fire station on Kainalu Dr.from 9-10AM only one hour, and Thursday evening Open market in back of Longs Drugs in the parking lot. Starts at 5PM-7PM They have fresh fruit and vegtables and Fried Green tomatoes and fried Zuccini. Yum. All kinds of good food to eat in fact just go have dinner there and see all the Kailua people interacting. We even have a jazz guitarist that plays there and a flutest. Make sure you go to Buzz's for lunch or dinner, it is a fun place have a Freshie, also Lucy's, Assagio's good Italian, Cinnamon's or Kimo's for a good breakfast. California pizza is good, and Mui Kai for Chinees food. Many more and some new ones.
We are looking for people that will have a great time and also respect the neighbors and the neighborhood. We can't have people that want to party all night long. Sorry. We have to have quiet time around 10PM. That is the law here. This is a great neighborhood.
Other than that have all the fun in our wonderful Kailua that we all love and cherish. Enjoy the simple things not the fast paced style of the mainland. Slow down to a snails pace and relax. You will feel great, Happy and relaxed when you leave our tiny town.
Aloha to all.

1/13-17 2009 Dear Lois, We totally agree with your past guests-the Hula House is a true gem! The eight of us (including a 1yr and 5yr old) felt so at home here....and appreciated all the amenities, whether it be beach toys or board games (we spent days putting together one of your 1000 piece puzzles!and enjoyed the comfort of haveing meals at home between activities. We DID, however love our Tuesday nite dinner most at Pinkys Pupu Bar and Grill, complete with happy hour shaker-ritas, and hand delivered meal from the chef & most impressive display of balloon animal making. That started off our vacatiton and we ended it with a trip the the infamous Buzz's Steakhouse for a scrumptious lunch including "sexy" soup and artichoke surprise, both to die for. Not even a day of rain could dampen the pleasure of our Kailua visit. We will definately spread the word about this lovely vacation spot that you never want to leave, Mahalo!! Hi Lois, We've had a lovely time here at the Hula house and in fact, our friends here in Kailua, the Davises , are interested in it as a rental for their family when they come here from Texas this Summer. Besides leaving the house tidy and locked up, is there anything else we should be doing to check out? We leave here early in the morning tomorrow. Mahalo, Julie

Aloha Hula House, Kaneohe Bay will be Vern's Bay for us from now on. We scattered him off the shore from the Yacht Club and the kindness shown byt the boat driver, his wife and our friends is unforgetable. also memorable is the Hula House itself. We are 2 couples and "mama Murielle" and the stay here was comfortable and dondusive to all kinds of fun besides our more serious purpose. Great Decor! Comfortable beds, pretty garden, well appointed kitchen also. Mahalo!

We had an amazing time this week. Our "home" was one of the best parts about our trip. This house and Island are truly paradise. We loved the short stroll down the street to watch the sunrise in the morning. We are from Seatle, so the warm sunny weather was a nice welcome. We are the Wilson family, and we feel very fortunate to have had such a beautiful vacation. Mahalo!

Lois- Thanks for the wondeful visit. The master bedroom bed was the best we've ever slept on! The childred had plenty of room and especially enjoyed the closed in porch. It's always great to stay with in walking distance of the beach- though we did get out to bellows on the weekends. Thanks again!

The Hula House has been greatly enjoyed this past week. We have loved the open windows and the lanai. The facilities are comfortable and were great with and for our grandchildren. My husband and I met in Honolulu 37 yrs ago for his R&R from Vietnam. The bag below contains souveniers we had since then. We are leaving them here where they belong. We missed an ice storm in the midwest while er were here. We are all going back to cikd weatger, But we will be warmed by our memories of Kailua.
