True Bliss at 4,687 feet! The perfect way to escape a hot and sticky summer! During the dog days of summer, our Beech Mountain condo in the North Carolina High Country is an oasis of mild non-humid days, magical misty mornings, and refreshingly cool mosquito-free evenings.
Just a few miles further up the mountain from Banner Elk, our condo in the town of Beech Mountain is only a short drive from lots of different activities and attractions, including Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Caverns & Falls, Tweetsie Railroad, plus a wonderful place in nearby Valle Crucis which offers horseback riding year-round (Chadi Farm). In the summer, you've got the New River Zoo, local Farms, and historic homes to tour, musical concerts and festivals to attend, vineyards, shops and museums to explore . . . the list is endless. And we're literally minutes from fantastic hiking trails (including some trail heads less than a mile's ramble from our front door), mountain biking, superb golfing, and a spectacular recreation center and the Beech Mountain Club, each of which offer a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities and programs that you can enjoy for a nominal fee.
Parking is right in front. Just take a few steps across the lawn and up to the door, and you (and your luggage) are in! No catwalks, twisty paths, or precarious rotting log steps.
Inside, rustic painted wood walls and exposed wooden beams support a vaulted ceiling. A beautiful stone fireplace with gas logs graces the main living area, while a wall of windows, and a door out to the deck, allow you to survey the grandeur of the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond.
Above the main floor, a cozy loft accommodates a king sized bed (a brand-new Beautyrest) and en suite full bath. Downstairs boasts two spacious bedrooms, one with a king bed (another new Beautyrest), the other with 2 Extra Long twin beds (purchased this Fall from Original Mattress Factory), plus a second full bath. (Note: We have a "bed bridge" available upon request, which allows you to convert the two XL Twin beds into a third King-sized bed.) Step outside from either of these bedrooms and enjoy a lovely view of the mountains from our patio. Two pull-out couches (a Queen and a Double) are also available in the living room on the main floor, on the same floor as the half-bath. (The "MORE PICTURES and details available here!" link near the bottom of this page takes you to photos of all the rooms.)
For the athletic, we offer a lockable outdoor storage room for your skis and bikes. For the hungry, there is a well-appointed kitchen, complete with microwave and a crock pot (as well as a great selection of restaurants nearby, offering both casual and more upscale fare).
Come and enjoy this beautiful place! In the summer, there's no need for air conditioning because it rarely gets above the mid 70's on the mountain! Step out onto the deck, gaze at the mountain view, and relax in comfort! And if the evenings get a little chilly, you've got electric heat on every floor and a lovely gas fireplace on the main floor to keep all 1,500 square feet cozy and warm. |
