Why the Owner Chose Greenwich Village
Returning to NY City having enjoyed professional careers in Europe and having always maintained our NYC identity through our own NYC Real Estate holdings as well as those of clients, our long search for a townhouse was rewarded by the discovery of a townhouse on West Eleventh Street in the Historic District of Greenwich Village.
Hercules Kontos, CPA, MBA, one of the owners was a 'Villager' at 17, and became an alumnus of NYU at 20 never having forgotten the allure of the European flavor of Greenwich Village.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhouse - 1 Apartment
The neighborhood is darling and quiet and literally four buildings away from the famous "Magnolia Bakery". You get the best of NYC--close to everything the city has to offer but at night it's nice to be in a neighborhood that isn't swamped or noisy. West Eleventh is in a great location, well worth the change from central Manhattan.The Marcucci apartment is very comfortable and spacious. The small kitchen with a skylight suffices for very basic functions. Towels changed daily, rooms very clean. The location is fantastic with easy access to many restaurants, pubs and underground... The location is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet, with lots of great places to eat and drink within easy walking distance. The Marcucci apartment has one large bedroom and a smaller bedroom too - perfect to get back to at the end of the day and a small kitchen & bathroom... A very romantic Apt. painted in a delicate shade of rose which is very flattering, a beautiful large mirror above the fireplace mantle, gorgeous original oils and beautiful silk drapes. All things considered the effect of all this is a sense of luxury and charm in an extremely private and extremely quiet house on a non-commercial street.

In 1971 Hercules founded Deloitte’s international firm of accountants & consultants in Athens, Greece, serving as managing partner until the late 1980's when he returned to New York City and reestablished his CPA practice in 1990. Therese Hendron, AB, MA, Hercules’ wife, joined the firm in Athens as a principal. Hercules has served clients including Fortune 500 Corporations in a broad range of industries including shipping, manufacturing, construction, chemical, real estate, banking, brokerage firms and other financial institutions including outsourced internal audit services to banks, both in the United States and Europe. Hercules authored the chapter on Greece in Professional Accounting in Thirty Countries, published by the American Institute of CPA’s. Hercules was president of the Institute of Incorporated Accountants and enjoyed Deloitte’s support in the establishment of a Western-style accounting profession in Greece. Hercules is a licensed CPA in the States of New York and New Jersey. He earned a BS from New York University and an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the New York State Society of CPA’s where he also sits on several of the society’s Committees. Hercules resides in Greenwich Village, NYC, with his wife Therese.
