I rented Wooded Splendor to celebrate a milestone birthday with family and friends and be near the ski slopes. What a great place. We had so much space, the pictures really don't do it justice! There was plenty of room to hang out and yet there were places to go for some peace and quiet, if necessary. The setting was beautiful and the house was well maintained and clean. We were a short 5 minute drive from Hidden Valley. Phone service is VERY limited, as mentioned in the description. Don't count on being able to give directions to anyone once you are at the house.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Great Secluded Family Getaway but Minutes to Everything!!

The house was great and the pictures do not do it justice. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and I even managed to get most of my laundry done before returning home! We have a mini-family reunion so there was a total of 14 of us all together. We had plenty of room and the ladies enjoyed the hot tub almost as much as the men seemed to enjoy the firepit. The location was great and convenient to everthing. If you travel with children you must make a trip to the animal park. I think the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids! The only negative was that the house lacks internet service and cell phone service (as stated) was spotty at best so it made checking in with work and keeping up with emails a bit tedious, but the location is well worth it. If your looking for a quiet, mountain get away, then look no further.

Great home away from home

We were on a retreat w/nine women and the property really fit the bill. There was room for all to spread out and a good gathering area as well. The setting was ideal. We enjoyed being able to have a camp fire and being able to sit on the deck. The property was well main tained which we appreciated.

Ski Retreat 2011

We decided to rent this house again this year for our youth group. It easily and comfortably slept all 17 of us. This house is well maintained, very clean, easy to get to and an affordable price. Our teens looked forward to returning this year and had a great time. Thanks so much for the great property! We will most likely rent this property again for next years retreat!

The house is very well maintained in a nice secluded area. We had a family get together during Thanks Giving weekend, and all of us had a great time.

The property was lovely. Fits the description accurately and was perfect for five couples. It is tucked away in the woods with lots of privacy. Close to flight 93 memorial. Falling Water was a great experience. We highly recommed Out of the Fire Cafe in Donegel.

Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+.

Wonderful weedend

We had a great weekend at the Fern Mountain. This was the first time we ever rented through vacationrentals.com so we did not have high expectations but were pleasantly surprised by how nice the house was. It was very clean and comfortable. The owner was very helpful to deal with. We would definitely stay here again for a great weekend.

We had a wonderful few days between Christmas and New Years. We love getting our children,and their families in one place(eight adults and nine children). 10 inches of snow, opening Christmas gifts playing Wii, good movies, good food, and family fun time together. The house is great and everyone had a great time. We enjoy being together and catching up on our lives. Plenty of room and everything needed. A wonderful location in the woods.

We are a group of three families who rented the house last summer and plan to rent it again. It was fabulous. The bedroom accommodations and all amenities far exceeded our expectations, and the lower level was a great asset, especially for all the kids.

Oct, 2009 - We(7 women) just returned from our annual shopping trip to the USA. This year we decided to rent Wooded Splendor and we were all thrilled with the house. It is beautiful, spacious, clean and private. Everything exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this house and we have already booked for October 2010.
