This beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom Condominium is located in a tropical garden setting in north Akumal. The condo is on the second floor and is equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, daily maid service, and a fully-equipped kitchen.

There are three wonderful snorkeling areas within walking distance. Half-Moon Bay is located directly in front of the condo complex. Yal-Ku Lagoon is a short two blocks away. This lagoon is often equated to swimming in an aquarium. And, don't forget the beautiful reef at Akumal Bay which is located about a mile south of the complex. If you have a vehicle or take a taxi, there are countless other snorkeling spots available and a wonderful selection of scuba diving shops if you care to dive the Caribbean or the extensive fresh water caverns in the Riviera Maya.

Guests of this La Iguana unit can also enjoy swimming in one of two pools - the first one is the largest pool on Half Moon Bay nestled in a beautiful garden setting, the second is a covered pool that offers an excellent view of the Caribbean Sea. The famous sandy beaches and great snorkeling of Half Moon Bay are just down the steps and through an open breezeway.

The unit is bright and light with an open design and high ceilings. From the main entry you will access the open living and dining area. The living area includes comfortable seating and access to a private terrace that overlooks the tropical gardens. The dining area includes a large table with seating for six.

The completely furnished kitchen includes bottled drinking water, cookware, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, oven/stove, utensils, dishes and, of course, a blender for the margaritas. The daily maid service allows you to enjoy yourself while the unit is cleaned up, beds made, and dishes washed!

The master bedroom has a king-size bed with private balcony - a perfect place to string the hammock and relax. The second bedroom has two twin-size beds and its own private balcony.

Each morning the singing of tropical birds awaken you. During the day you can enjoy the crystal clear waters full of colorful fish, tour ancient Mayan ruins, shop, or just relax on the beach with a good book. In the evenings, you can walk to one of the several excellent restaurants for a romantic dinner on the beach.

This La Iguana unit is located in the courtyard. While it is not beachfront it does have an ocean view from the private bedroom terraces and Half-Moon Bay is easily reached by walking through an open breezeway. There you will have free use of the beach, sun shelters, lounge chairs, and fresh-water showers.

Free book exchange in the office. An exercise room is available in the condo complex complete with treadmill, stationary bike, stepper, weight bench and universal machine. There is a small fee for use of the gym ($5/day or $25/week). Unlimited internet access is also available at the office for a small weekly fee. Beach towels are available at the office with a refundable deposit. You can trade your used towels in for fresh ones as needed.

  • Our party of 4 had an awesome time in the Akumel area. The Stones' condo fit our needs perfectly. The place was immaculately clean and beatiful. The condo grounds were lush and tropical; the pools were clean and refreshing. The condo staff were friendly and efficient. They'll even teach you a few Spanish words and phrases. Half Moon Bay was the perfect place to relax, read, and snorkel. One evening we watched the release of hundreds of baby sea turtles into Akumel Bay. What an unforgettable sight for all ages! A variety of restaurants, bars, and stores are within walking distance; we had many tasty meals. The fresh seafood was incredibly delicious! Peg and Mike, we will definitely return to your vacation rental on Ackumel Bay! Thanks for being so accomodating.

  • The vacation my wife and I just enjoyed for our 20th wedding anniversary at Peggy and Mike's condominium was very enjoyable and relaxing. The pools, grounds, and condo are kept very clean and in great shape. We enjoyed snorkeling in the nearby ocean, with schools of colorful fish, sea turtles, and coral. In fact, this is something we did every day of the week. This condo is situated in a very good location, with little traffic and many restaurants within walking distance (we didn't even rent a car, instead using a transportation service to and from the Cancun airport).   • We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Akumal. Mike and Peggy are wonderful hosts, as they have thought of everything for their guests: tourbook of the area, spanish dictionary, insulated tote bags, snorkel tote, games/cards, DVDs, and plenty of local information all contained in a neat, user-friendly binder. They also sent maps and "helpful hints" to us prior to our trip. Communication was always prompt and Mike and Peggy treat you like personal friends. The condo was perfect for our family of 3. The location of the unit with its own entrance is very private and within steps of both pools and the ocean. The staff is very helpful with a manager on-site to take care of all your needs and the cleaning staff is non-intrusive and efficient. We were very happy with our accommodations and rank this as a truly ideal place to stay.
