Wow! What a place. We were extremely pleased by how wonderful Bamboo Hale was. Anyone who rates it less than 5 stars should be questioned. The sound of the running river, spaciousness, equipped kitchen, marvelous tub shower, etc. all were highlights. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Bamboo Hale was even more beautiful (and larger) than the pictures let on! When my mom and I arrived for our annual mother-daughter adventure, our jaws dropped. Like others have mentioned, the large wall of windows facing the river are all screens - so the sound of the water over the rocks is amazing. It fills the house. The house is extremely peaceful and calming. It is down a dirt road with easy access to the beaches - but it is a little remote. This is EXACTLY what we love and what we were looking for - so it was perfect for us. We loved going out and having adventures every day around the island and then stopping at the market, making dinner in the great kitchen and just listening to the water. The photos and descriptions are extremely accurate and it was one of my favorite vrbo rentals ever. The owner was very nice and even mailed back a forgotten camera battery charger (which was MUCH appreciated!) Highly recommend Bamboo Hale! And don't miss the burritos at Red Hot Mama's at the end of the road or snorkeling at Tunnels!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

My family just returned from 2 weeks at this property and I can tell you that this place is a find. Better in person than in pictures, the house seemed larger and more beautiful. The setting is spectacular. You're in the middle of a tropical rain forest with a crystal clear river flowing alongside the house which provides a great sound for sleeping (day or night). Tons of screened windows (not that bugs were a problem because it was much less buggy than one would expect) allow for unobstructed views of lush vegetation and lot's of light. The place is clean and well equipped. The only draw back I'd say was the lack of cell phone service and we would have preferred wireless internet connection rather than the one wired plug in, however that did help us all get off the grid for a real vacation. The location was up a picturesque dirt road and only 5-7 minutes from the beaches and the town of Hana lei. Not only would we come back to this house but I've already recommended it to my business partner for him and his family. By the way the climate is fantastic. I was anticipating hot and humid weather but in fact it was perfectly temperate and comfortable unlike my previous experiences with other parts of Hawaii.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

My husband and I stayed here during the winter of 2011and feel like this place truly emits healing energies. The beautiful design accentuates the magic of the river. We loved the privacy and yet perfect location to nearby beaches, hiking and farmer markets. This is the place for those who want to BE IN BEAUTY and leave physically, spiritually rejuvenated!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

All we could say upon arrival was, "WOW, is this it?!!" It's more gorgeous than described. The grounds and interior are lovely, comfortable and inviting. All was clean and we found everything we needed. We would highly recommend Bamboo Hale to all our friends. Everyone was right about the sound of the river - soothing and peaceful. We suggest Wake Up Cafe for breakfast - pack a lunch and head to the most picturesque beaches in the world. The drive here is magnificent.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We really loved this house. It is gorgeous, but very comfortable. The sound of the river below was so soothing and peaceful and the setting was perfect. It was the most wonderful get away, but close enough to all amenities and the sweet little town of Hanalei. You will feel like you are in the Napali Coast. Thank you for the perfect vacation. We absolutely adored this house. It is located on the Wainiha River that lulled us to sleep each night, blocking out all sounds, making us feel as if we were alone on Kauai. Though there a handful of other houses nearby, the bamboo trees provide shelter and privacy. The house itself is quaint and gorgeous with exotic hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite counters and soaring ceilings. The attention to detail that went into this house is most impressive. We loved the master suite separated from the main house by wrap-around porches and all the cute niches where we could sit and read or just watch the river roll by. In short, the pictures posted online do not do the house justice, as the dimensions are misleading and it is much larger than it appears. Beyond the house, we were very pleased with the location. Bamboo Hale is located on a quiet road a half mile from the beach in the North Shore. There is very little traffic, sweeping views and numerous restaurants (we particularly loved Bar Acuda) and shops in the nearby town of Hanalei. Frankly, if it were up to us, we would move in. If you are looking for a private spot on the North Shore, you won’t find anything more perfect than this house.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6
