  • We absolutely adored this house. It is located on the Wainiha River that lulled us to sleep each night, blocking out all sounds, making us feel as if we were alone on Kauai. Though there a handful of other houses nearby, the bamboo trees provide shelter and privacy. The house itself is quaint and gorgeous with exotic hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite counters and soaring ceilings. The attention to detail that went into this house is most impressive. We loved the master suite separated from the main house by wrap-around porches and all the cute niches where we could sit and read or just watch the river roll by. In short, the pictures posted online do not do the house justice, as the dimensions are misleading and it is much larger than it appears. Beyond the house, we were very pleased with the location. Bamboo Hale is located on a quiet road a half mile from the beach in the North Shore. There is very little traffic, sweeping views and numerous restaurants (we particularly loved Bar Acuda) and shops in the nearby town of Hanalei. Frankly, if it were up to us, we would move in. If you are looking for a private spot on the North Shore, you won’t find anything more perfect than this house.
