This property is just as the description states. Great view off the lake 3 bedrooms awesome price. All the amenities of home. Also clean and well kept. I don't feel the pictures do it justice. Believe me it is nicer than the pictures make it look. Lots of information about local spots. Mary even left a Kroger card on the table so you don't have to sign-up for one. She was great. We did all of our cooking at the house so I don't have any restaurant details. Although the kitchen is stocked well enough that we didn't have to bring or buy utensils. The only complaint would be the one bathroom for the six of us, and the 3 streets in the neighborhood with the same name. I don't think either could be avoided though. We were close enough to Detroit to go in but far enough out to keep down on the traffic from visitors. There is a great outlet mall in Howell. Just an all around great vacation I would totally rent from Mary again. Maybe a smaller group next time because of bathroom space.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

A great house to rent. This was not a vacation home for mr but a wonder comfortable place to stay with my dog when my husband had surgery at the Huron Valley Hospital. However, it would be a great getaway spot for anyone with the lake out front, Milford and it's wonderful shopping, food and coffee shops. Also real close to a superb grocery store with an even more superb deli. Owner was very kind and esy to work with. This house has everything you need. So much better than a hotel. Also for the runner or biker, the YMCA in Milford is a great place to go. I found the trail to be very dog friendly.Recommended for: Pet owners.

During a recent visit to the Detroit area for Thanksgiving we stayed at this wonderful little Lake Cottage. We are so glad that we chose to stay here, the house was a very relaxing get away from all the high pace lives that we lead and it was great to be close to family for the holidays, but still far enough away for a little rest and relaxation. We needed a pet friendly house and chose this one vs. a hotel and it worked out perfect for us. The landlords were very accommodating for our late arrival and early departure. The view of the lake from the living room was beautiful with swans and ducks visiting often. We could have just spent the whole week at the lake house, but we had football games and a big family reunion to attend. Even the neighbor was very nice and gave us advice on a nice trail for walking our dogs. I would highly recommend this house versus a hotel, it feels so much more comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful fall vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, people with disabilities.

This was a great place to spend a few days. The house was clean and well kept, and has a great view. We loved watching out the picture window and viewing the wildlife. Mary and Peter were very helpful with our questions about the area and directions to places we wanted to go to in the Detroit areaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/3

This property was exactly what we were looking for and much more. The property was in great shape and had everything you would need for a short or extended stay. The location was excellent with restaurants and entertainment close by. The lake and surrounding parks give everyone in the family something to enjoy. Peter and Mary went out of their way to make this a great vacation experience. They are the best.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/2

my family and i stayed in this property the last 10 days of June 2008. we had a wonderful time. everything was provided! the kids (ages 12-18) canoed around the lake, swam and fished. we enjoyed relaxing on the beautiful brick paver patio and having fires in the evening. everything was exactly as described in the listing. you felt like you were "up north" but were only minutes from metropolitan areas with shopping, restuarants, etc. we hope to come back and enjoy it again some time!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

Our group rented this property as an alternative to staying in a hotel. It allowed us to spend our vacation time in a "homey" atmosphere. The house was described well and was perfect for our get-away. We walked into a clean, well-maintained residence. The house furnishings were very nice and we found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. While we did not get a chance to take advantage of the lake activities, access and amenities for this were available and would have been excellent if the weather was warmer. We did a lot of sightseeing while we were in the area and found the location to be right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. The biggest problem we encountered was only having one bathroom for five women but we made it work. I would also suggest putting some sort of dresser in the bedroom with the double bed as there was no storage room for clothes. This may be a tight fit so it may not be workable. Overall, we have a very good experience staying at this propety and I would recommend this property to others especially if they want to take advantage of water activities.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

We stayed at Peter and Mary's Lake House for 5 weeks in the summer of 2007. I highly recommend this property. It is on a beautiful clear fresh water lake and the swimming and boating is excellent. We felt like we were in the far north despite being minutes from the beautiful town of Milford. We spent many evenings on the deck with a great view of the preserve across the lake. The house is super clean and well equiped and the Battle's are excellent hosts. We highly recommend this property and hope to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/2
