In Gaelic our house is called Rhadarc Na Mara, which means Ocean View; It's named after the spectacular location looking out over the Atlantic ocean. The views of the ocean, Cliffs of Moher and down on the traditional Irish music village of Doolin make this a visual feast.
Radnarc Na Mara is beautifully situated on a quiet country road on the edge of the Burren between Doolin village and the Ballinalacken Castle. Turn left outside the front gate, and it is just a short walk to Ballinalackan Castle gorge, breathtaking views of the Aran Islands and the Burren, with its wildflowers, trickling streams, subterranean rivers and boulders bulging out of the landscape. Just around the corner from the house is the largest Stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere (now open to the public and a must see). Children and adults alike can enjoy the delights of the surrounding countryside, cows, horses and donkeys, who will gladly accept a carrot or two as you pass by.
Less than five-minute drive to Doolin village and a five-minute drive to Lisdoonvarna.
From the bright airy sun-lit living room, sun room and kitchen, you can sit back and enjoy a spectacular uninterrupted 180-degree view of the Atlantic ocean, the Cliffs of Moher, edge of the Burren and beautiful countryside. Like many of our guests, you will spend hours gazing at the constantly changing sea and cliffs and, when the sun goes down, the stars that seem so much brighter. It will take your breath away!
Rhadarc Na Mara is a deceptively spacious newly built house with all the charm of a pine-fitted Irish country home, featuring delightful features as a barn half door leading from the kitchen out to the garden deck, an open fireplace in the living room and a spacious sun room that you'll want to sit in all day long. You can enjoy a relaxing family meal in the diner kitchen whilst enjoying the beautiful views through the glass sliding doors leading out to the deck and large garden. |
