This home has a fresh spa-like feel with modern touches. The U-shaped house wraps around a large patio with free-form pool. 40 feet of glass doors open onto the 1400 square ft lanai for 100% indoor/outdoor living.The lanai looks into a tropical garden and behind that is an 8 foot fence for total privacy. Two of the bedrooms overlook the pool. The terrazzo granite floors throughout-out the home have recently been restored and the house is completely updated with new furniture, window treatments, linens. All beds are encased in "Allergy Armour" mattress bags.
The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and a 15 minute walk gets you to a breakfast place, grocery store and other shopping.
This house is four miles from Siesta Key beach which is rated one of the top 10 beaches in the country. It is an easy drive and there is plenty of parking at the beach. We provide beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and a cooler.

Why the Owner Chose Southgate
After driving up and down both coasts over 3 winters I chose Sarasota because of the very "settled feel" of the town. Many of the developments were established years ago, the landscaping is mature, The clean, modern style that is represented by the "Sarasota School of Architecture" pops up here and there in the neighborhoods.

My family is large ...when I am here in the winter the 4 bedrooms mean that relatives can be coming and going and no one ends up on the sofa. The house is spread out and there are several different places to relax. Each of us can have as much or as little privacy as we want.

We stayed a small week in this paradise in july, 2007. We had an excellent time. The house is just unbelievable with the large pool, the many bedrooms and bathrooms and the careful selected furniture. Extremely well-equippped, including PC internet connection and full operational kitchen. Very recommendable.

This house was a perfect location for our family vacation. It is clean, spacious, quiet, private, and has everything you could need. The best part about it for us was the gorgeous, screened-in pool with wrap-around patio. Perfect water temperature day and night and no mosquitoes! So relaxing! It's only a short drive to Siesta Beach with white, powdery sand, gentle waves and aqua blue water. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this property from 7-21 August 2010, 4 adults and 2 children, age 3 and 7. Directions from owner were good and the villa was very clean and comfortable. It has 4 spacious bedrooms, a great pool which is very private, and we loved it because we felt were staying as guests in someone's home, and not just a rental. We could communicate with the owner easily, but only needed to once. We had wifi and everything you could need, like home from home. Private and peaceful. The location is great for the beach and downtown Sarasota,10 minute drive to either in August. Having spent previous week at tired and basically equipped, more expensive villa near Orlando, I would thoroughly recommend it and thought it was good value.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.

Our family spent eight of the most relaxing and fun days ever in this comfortable and very clean home. It was equipped with everything promised and more. The home has a chic, retro feel and is tastefully decorated. The tiled floors so practical for a family... The house looks just like the pictures. The location was perfect, with short drives to our various activities we attended ( wedding). The rooms are spacious, with lots of games, tvs, and books to enjoy. The pool was our favorite, and we enjoyed it literally morning, noon, and night! The lanai offers shady and sunny areas with chaise lounges, tables and chairs for morning coffee 'poolside' or naps in the afternoon. On beach days,it was so nice having an umbrella, chairs and a cooler to take with us. The entire property is impeccably maintained and the owner very helpful and patient when we called with questions. This will not be a vacation rental that will disappoint you!

We stayed in this beautiful home for a week in May with some close friends. We all agreed how wonderful the home was and how it had EVERYTHING you would need for a weeks stay... literally, the only thing we had to worry about was food. There was a binder in the house that made it so easy to plan things to do and great places to eat. We LOVED the lanai and pool area, it was great no matter what time of day it was. The house was close to some many things, especially the beach! We are already planning our trip back next year and will definitely be looking to stay here again...this time maybe for two weeks!!

We stayed at this lovely home for 3 weeks in May 2009. We were greeted by a beautiful arrangement of yellow roses on the kitchen table and knew we were in for a great time! The owners let us have our two dogs with us and they were positively spoiled by the doggie door. I want one for our home too ( and so do the dogs!). If we had any kind if problem we called or emailed the owner and it was taken care of immediately. What a nice surprise not to have any hassels!! Our security deposit was returned in full promptly after we got home. Please do not hesitate to rent this home it is truly a home away from home!!!
