The Forge in Upper Oddington is a luxury Cotswolds Holiday Cottage which has recently been fully renovated to the highest standard without losing its original features or charm, it has exposed beams, a wood-burning stove, oak floors and some exposed stone walls and everything you would expect from an 18th-century Cotswolds cottage.
The beautiful village of Upper Oddington is situated only two miles outside Stow-on-the- Wold, the heart of the Cotswolds, with a full selection of shops and restaurants. The well-known towns of Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Broadway and Chipping Campden are only a short drive away. A little further afield you will find Cheltenham and Oxford, as well as Bath with its stunning Georgian architecture. Stratford-upon-Avon and the famous Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre are only 30 minutes door to door.
Two minutes’ walk away, the award-winning Horse and Groom Pub serves fantastic meals, as does The Fox in Lower Oddington. The village church of St. Nicholas boasts famous medieval Doomsday wall paintings. Daylesford Organic is nearby in the lovely village of Kingham, which also has a train station with connections straight into London Paddington (1 hour 30 minutes).
The wooden country kitchen has been hand-crafted and is equipped with all the latest appliances as well as everything you need to cater for up to 6 people. An adjacent open plan living room boasts a Clearview wood burning stove, a sofa, window seats and a comfortable leather chair. The iPod dock station/radio, a TV/DVD player with an ample selection of DVDs, and a variety of books and games all provide for your entertainment and cosy afternoons or evenings curled up on the sofa.
Also on the ground floor, there is a newly installed shower room and toilet/sink as well as a utility room with a washer/dryer.
Upstairs you’ll find the main bathroom plus two bedrooms with comfortable beds. The master bedroom has a double wooden sleigh bed, built-in wardrobes and chest of drawers, while the second bedroom is a cosy twin bedroom with pretty wallpaper and wooden beams. Both overlook the garden and also have village views. The bathroom is newly renovated with a roll-top bath, sink and toilet.
The house is detached, situated in a very quiet village location, and has a private garden with seating for four as well as a BBQ. There is an off-road parking space for one car.
We provide a Welcome Hamper on arrival for your comfort. Also, a Beautician and Cook can be arranged upon request. Very well-behaved dogs are welcome - lots of beautiful country walks lead straight from the cottage into the lovely Cotswolds Hills.
Everything you need for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds!
