Remember as a child when you could just call "king's X" or "time out" and bring the action of the moment to a halt? Rock Pool Gardens is created with the idea that now, more than ever, we need a "pause button" in our hectic lives. For that reason, we are committed to making Rock Pool Gardens a memorable getaway for those who would take time to play, to nurture themselves or to simply reflect on the flow of their lives.
Our guest house offers 2 spacious two-room suites in the renowned artist community of Dixon, located midway between Santa Fe and Taos. For larger groups or families, the option exists to rent the complete guest house as a unit.
The spa facilities (included with the rental) feature a beautiful, enclosed, hand-built, heated rock swimming pool and a 4-person spa nestled under the trees in a secluded area a few steps from the poolroom. Scattered about the property are a variety of gardens with peaceful sitting areas and ponds. Unlimited hiking exists in beautiful, rolling hills right off the back of the property!

approximately 10 years ago I first stayed at Rock Pool Gardens-kinda by accident: I had inquired at the local art co-op where a place to stay might be, and they sent me across the street; that B&B was full, and they sent me up the road to RPG. And I have returned again and again. The owners are family for me now, and their hospitality and openness is a constant reminder to me of the good in people. I have recently come through the maze and confusion of cancer and cancer treatment--I went to RPG to recuperate, and restore myself, in the amazing pool, and in the hot tub. I'm not in good condition yet to walk the trails behind the property, but I plan to by this time next year. Over the years I've sent many people to RPG, and have returned to RPG with friends and family. I consider it one of my permanent addresses.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Dixon:
The Guest house was an old bar and then my art studio. In 1996 Will and I remodeled and converted it into our vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love hiking into the hills behind our house, swimming in our pool, sitting under the stars in our hot tub or swinging by our waterfall. We also love just living in this quiet little community of artists and farmers between Santa Fe and Taos.
