Quaint Cottage on Acreage, Borders National Park

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Estes Park

We love the location and the rural feel of the neighborhood. It's right next door to two other cottages we own, Eagle Cliff and Deer Meadow. Between the 3 properties, we have a lovely 4.5 acre setting.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

It's only about a mile from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and we love the fact that our back property line borders the park as well. The large moss rock outcropping on the one and a half acre lot is a mini mountain, perfect for scrambling to the top and enjoying morning coffee! Kids love the rock, the land, and the treehouse out back.

Owner's Map of Estes Park

Hi, I'm Nina, your owner/contact person for Eagle Cliff cabin. I love the Estes Park area, so am happy to tell you more about it and make recommendations for the best restaurants, hikes, and activities. Elk Haven has a lot of special features that I'm happy to tell you about. I spend time at our mountain retreat often, and since I'm there a lot, I have made sure it has all the comforts of home. I think you'll find it a warm and welcoming retreat!

Thank you so much for your hospitality, we felt right at home. The first thing we did when we walked in was build a cozy fire! It heated the cabin all night thru the next morning. The kids loved playing outside in the tree house. It was their "fort" during a pine cone battle. The kids were so excited to see the elk right outside the back door especially the big one with the largest antlers we have ever seen. We cooked almost every meal here, including baking cookies. The cabin was beautiful and the views breathtaking. The beds were so comfy I forgot I wasn't at home!

My son and I really loved your cabin, and the trip itself was way beyond our expectations: Hiking Trail Ridge Road in the snow and seeing (and hearing) so many elk, including a male with the largest rack of ANY right here in back of the cabin! We made good use of the fireplace all but one night, slept like babes in the woods The aspens were at their peak, the elk bugling, leaf colors turning; it was a wonderful vacation. Thank you for such a hospitable, homey cabin. We'll be back.

We rejuvenated in your lovely cabin. Of course the scenery was breathtaking, and the peaceful pace of vacation nourishing. I have to say one of my most treasured memories will be the little things in the cabin that reflect the love of this area--the napkin holder, the lamps, the couch, the pillows, the quilts, and the hospitality you extended to us (as strangers!) Thank you for everything.

We loved the cabin, just the right fit for four. We saw deer & elk, had some nice hikes, up on Trail Ridge it was an excellent day with fine weather. It was quiet and peaceful, the best place to unwind. Hope to return someday.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Elk Haven. Saw 2 rabbits regularly keeping the grass trimmed in front and a lame doe with 2 fawn grazing in back. Felt sorry for the doe who was limping badly. The hiking was great, went to Black Lack, beyond, Flattop Mountain & Hallet Peak, made it to the top of the Funnel at Longs Peak before turning back due to SNOW, and the last day went to Bluebird Lake. Weather was mixed each day with rain and sun. Thank you very much for sharing your cabin with us.

This is our first visit to Elk Haven and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It is a cute and cozy cabin where we enjoyed spending our late afternoons and evenings. The kids liked the cames in the closet. We cooked a lot here. The kitchen seemed very well stocked for our needs. We loved laying on the porch at night and viewing the awesome array of stars. We saw at least 20 shooting stars one night. We have definitely loved our week here in the Rocky Mountains. It is hard to leave "our" fun little cabin. We would surely recommend this place to anyone!

This is our third summer to visit and we never get tired of coming back! This is our first time for renting a cabin and we enjoyed it tremendously! I fed the birds around the cabin and we enjoyed watching the rabbits and chipmunks--so cute! Each day we went into RMNP and observed the wildlife and gorgeous mountains--God is good! The cabin was so cozy and comfortable--we love the game table. We made use of the dominoes (played every night!)

Our week was great. We went out for daily hikes and returned to the cabin to cook supper. We made friends with the wildlife in the back yard. There were chipmunks and ground squirrels that enjoyed the treats we had for them. We also saw some elk, mule deer, western bluebirds, magpie and a very friendly black lab. We enjoyed the cabin and its location--so close to town and the park.

We had a great 5 days here in Estes Park. The weather was beautiful--80 degrees during the day! The cabin worked out very well for us. We loved the views and appreciated how well equipped it is. We especially liked the big table. We spent a lot of time around it. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Only thing I can think of that you need is a pitcher for OJ or iced tea. Otherwise, it's perfect! (Owner's note: We added a pitcher after this comment--thanks for the feedback).
