New Moon is a charming one bedroom house for rent in Coral Bay, on the island of St. John. Surrounded by trees, with beautiful views of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain, New Moon provides the perfect couples’ getaway. New Moon offers a spacious kitchen, beautifully appointed with hardwood mahogany cabinets and bar. This intimate residence will make you feel right at home as you enjoy all St. John has to offer. New Moon provides the perfect base from which to explore the white sand beaches of St. John and the unspoiled beauty of the Virgin Islands National Park. Located 10-15 minutes from beaches and trails on either the North or South shore of St. John, swimming, snorkeling and hiking opportunities abound. A variety of restaurants, shops and bars are less than ½ mile away in Coral Bay, and the bustling nightlife and shopping of downtown Cruz Bay can be reached via a scenic 25 minute drive.
New Moon sleeps just two people, but can be rented in conjunction with Just Enough (see VRBO listing 51729) for parties of up to six people. Both New Moon and Just Enough were custom built by their owner with the protection of the environment in mind. While separated by lush foliage, the houses are on the same property, connected by a short trail. This design allows for family or friends to have separate space and privacy, but the proximity to enjoy a vacation together. Each two-story house includes a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, living space and a fully equipped kitchen downstairs, and wrap-around decks on both floors from which to enjoy the views and stargazing.

Dec 15-Apr 15: $1400/week...$210/night. Apr 16-Dec14: $1000/week...$155/night.
4 night minimum. Inquire for rates for cottages to be rented together.
A check for 50% of rental fee due upon booking. Balance due 30 days before
arrival. For cancellations made 60 or more days prior to your scheduled
arrival date, a full refund, less a cancellation fee of 20% of the cost of
the entire reserved stay, will be returned to you.
No refunds are offered for cancellations within 60 days prior to your scheduled
arrival date unless we are able to re-rent the property for your entire time slot.

Why the Owner Chose Coral Bay
St. John is a wonderful island with so much to offer (including a U.S. national park and national marine sanctuary!). Being *water people* we love the snorkeling and diving all around us. Sailing in the Virgin Islands is also great - we enjoy day sails and overnight trips all over the US and British Virgin Islands from Coral Bay. And hiking in the national park is beautiful - the Johnny Horn trail is within walking distance of our house.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Tim sailed into St John on his sailboat in the mid-1990s and started looking for property to buy soon after. He chose this lot because he liked the quieter Coral Bay side and it was a good neighborhood (cul de sac road). The cottage offers a beautiful secluded setting in the trees, with a water view. It's very convenient to the various shops and restaurants in Coral Bay.

We (the owners Tim & Jane) finished building New Moon in 2002. The lot was hand cleared in order to retain as much natural vegetation as possible. In addition to building the entire house himself, owner/cabinetmaker Tim handbuilt all of the beautiful mahogany cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the bar in the kitchen, and the armoire upstairs. While we love St John (and Coral Bay in particular) we decided to go cruising in our sailboat to check out other parts of the world. Until we return, we hope you will enjoy staying at our home and exploring the island of St. John!

A Perfect Tree House on a Hill

Cute well-built cottage perched amid the treetops on a beautiful site above Coral Bay. Property managers were welcoming and laid-back. We were very happy to be on the lazy, friendly east end of the island -- the beaches are wilder and more secluded than on the west end, and in the bars and restaurants in and around Coral Bay there are as many locals as visitors. We spent a lot of time on the deck of New Moon listening to the goats in the valley (day) and the tree frogs (night) and watching the iguanas eat leaves in the tree canopy just below. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway.

New Moon is a secluded, clean, quiet little sanctuary in St. John. Located in the quiet town of coral bay, just a 5 minute ride to stores, restaurants, centrally located to beaches, hiking, and everything else on st. john. Will definately stay here again! Highly recommended!
