Lova Lava Land Eco-Resort is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in staying in creative off-the-grid accommodations! Our 3 acre property is designed as a fun learning experience in life on an old lava field - full of beautiful shady ohia trees, ocean views, and creative communal areas great for socializing and relaxing.
We offer a beautifully decorated yurt and several renovated Volkswagen camper buses as sleeping accommodations. For communal use is a bamboo and lava decorated compost toilet, an outdoor shower built out of lava rock from the premises, a gazebo-covered communal kitchen & lounging area, and a lava rock grill with picnic table.
Take our self-guided walking tour of the property to learn about local flora, fauna, and how we have created comfortable off-the-grid systems. Or relax in your private area on the property - each accommodation has it's own area complete with either a hammock, picnic table, or swing.
OUR ACCOMMODATIONS:
1. PELE'S PARADISE YURT: sleeps 2
This beautifully designed 'round house' offers a skylight, ocean views, a full sized bed, closet, bean bag chair, fan, and much more! If you haven't tried sleeping in a yurt before, you'll never go back!
2. VOLKSWAGEN CAMPER BUS SLEEPING: sleeps 2 (2 full sized beds)
This is also a fun and comfortable experience for those that reminensce about the 60's, those that wish it were still the 60's, or those that are just curious and want a fun alternative to normal sleeping arrangements. We've rescued & renovated these buses - although they are NON-operational. All buses have storage space and closets and are priced the same, although each has it's own character and even name! Each bus has two beds - one full sized bed in the pop-top canopy with windows that unzip for star-gazing and one full sized pull-out bed on the main level.
-VWBus#1: Daisy the Daydream Bus (yellow bus in the picture) has been decorated in memory and love for the music of the 60's - from our favorite band, the Grateful Dead, to other favorites such as Joplin, Hendrix, & Marley. Daisy has a huge private spot with direct views of the ocean and is a wonderful option, especially for guests staying longer periods.
-VWBus#2: Garth the Gecko Bus has been renovated back to original design, with a touch of Gecko decoration (he is green after all). You can catch ocean views from the pull out bed and Garth has a private shaded swing in his area.
-VWBus#3: Hillary the Hula Bus is Garth's close twin (also green) and has been decorated with a Hawaiian hula theme. She has a private picnic table in front, that offers prime views of South Point - the Southernmost tip of the USA.
THE AREA:
Ocean View is a colorful small community 45 miles from Kailua-Kona and 80 miles from Hilo. We've provided a detailed self-tour guide of the area for you, including directions to the MANY beaches (including 2 black sand beaches), the southernmost point in the USA, several state parks, Volcano National Park, local markets, and much more.
This is a rustic eco-village on 3 acres of beautiful old lava fields and shady Ohia trees. Expect something like camping without a tent, but be pleasantly surprised when it is much more! |
