Iona Shores house description
People come to Fort Myers for many different reasons, but whatever your passion is... At the beginning or end of the day, its really nice to sit on a dock looking down the canal out to the river and watching the boats and the wildlife all going somewhere.
Many species of fish, birds, river otters, dolphin and occasionally bald eagles inhabit this area. The dock can be used with boats up to 21'. If you are renting for a month or longer the boat lift is available for an extra charge. I have a newly installed 10,000 lb lift which makes boat access very easy and safe.
Waterfront ranch house with direct gulf access has two bedrooms and an add on bedroom with queen size bed and full bathroom. The living room has a new sleep sofa with two chairs, a 32'TV with DVD/VCR player.Master b/r has a new (5/13) queen bed with a 32' flat screen and DVD/VCR player. Kitchen has all new appliances new D/W 3/13 ,counters and cabinets. Main bathroom with new tile shower and new vanity. Sunroom has a small work station, new couch and chair and new 32' flat screen HD TV . TV service is Direct TV with a whole house DVR. High Speed Internet is Comcast Cable. Both bathrooms and kitchen have new faucets.Top quality pillows, linens towels and bedding. The house is comfortable, clean and convenient to the airport (25 mins),shopping and restaurants.
Fishing is world class with back country shallow water for Tarpon, Snook and Redfish. You can also fish off the dock.I have caught redfish, some large snook, baby tarpon, seatrout, mangrove snapper and on one occasion a rare sawtooth shark from the dock. The dock fishing varies with the weather and time of year. Offshore fishing offers a huge variety of fishing options.I can put you in touch with local guides for a real adventure. Many people enjoy just viewing the Dolphin, Manatee, hundreds of different shore birds or collecting shells from white sand beaches.Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge is a must see in Sanibel and a good place to view alligators.
There are numerous golf courses and depending on the season many of the private courses will allow public play. Shopping ranges from outlet malls and huge flea markets to small boutiques. Restaurants from fine dining to fast food and ethnic specialities. Live entertainment and sporting events provide something for everyone on vacation. If you are planning to stay here, let me know your interests and I will make some suggestions.

A pleasant week
A pleasant week
My wife and I and elderly lab retriever enjoyed a very pleasant week here. Appears modest at front of home but updated interior with comfortable furnishings and opens to beautiful back patio, yard and dock. Looks out along a canal to the main river giving a very open and cool feeling. Furnished and stocked with everything you need other than food and drink. Close to causeway to Sanibel and Captiva Islands.

I stayed in this home in May 2011. It is in a great location, close to restaurants, shopping and beaches. The home was comfortable, advertising is accurate, and it is located in an very nice, quiet neighborhood. Ceiling fans throughout add to the comfort. The water view is great and from the dock, we saw manatee feeding. Fun surprise! The sun porch and screened lanai are both very relaxing places to spend time and both overlook the newly landscaped back yard, large patio and water. The kitchen was well equipped and had whatever I needed for cooking quick meals. Three TVs are located throughout the house if you want to spend time indoors. The owner was readily available by phone and email. We plan to stay in this home again.

Great view out the canal, comfortable home, convenient to Sanibel bridge and shopping areas. Listing described the property and location accurately, and photos reflected property, Property was definitely clean and well maintained and the owner was most helpful and available by e-mail for any questions we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to a friend.

Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My wife Anita and I live in Elverson PA with our two daughters. I own an industrial process equipment business and Anita teaches riding. Our daughters attend College of Charleston and Indiana University of PA.
Why the Owner Chose Iona Shores:
For many years I read stories in magazines about the great fishing in southwest Florida. When the opportunity came along to own a small piece of waterfront property in a fix up home we jumped on it. We spent two years and countless hours refurbishing the house upgrading and going over everything. My enjoyment comes from taking the boat out and finding new places to fish. I own an industrial equipment business and my wife teaches riding. Hopefully someday we can spend more time here and less time working.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Fishing off the dock can be quite good depending on the season. The backyard is fairly quiet and sitting on the dock and looking down the canal is relaxing. The location is only a few miles from Sanibel and Ft. Myers Beach depending on what mood your in. Sanibel is laid back and Ft. Myers Beach always seems to be busy.
