We stayed here with a 3 month old baby in August. The chalet is so cozy and beautifully designed. The views are awesome! Loved the deck and watching the hot air ballons in the morning. We took walks in the neighborhood, went to the hot springs (don't miss Strawberry Park Hot Springs) and ate yummy food (recommend Sunpies right on the river). We will definately return whenever possible.

We had a pleasant time here. It is a comfortable house, with very good views, a nice kitchen with an excellent stock of dishes and equipment. However, I do feel it is not represented accurately. It is described as newly renovated and update. I had to reread the description when we arrived to make sure it was the right house. It clearly has not been recently updated and has not been that well maintained. Woodwork in the house and deck need refinishing, Fixtures in the bathrooms were cheap (flimsy toilet seats) and several broken or missing appliances- one towel rack missing, part of the toiilet paper holder missing, and the lower bathroom door did not latch shut and the door knob kept coming off. Living room furniture was worn. . I feel the house description was misleading and it is not a"boutique" house. Please call it what it is- a comfotable house good for families and great for a dog ( nice fenced yard).

Owner response: Thanks for your candid comments. The house was completely renovated, save the bathrooms. We will attend to them immediately. Constructive feedback is always appreciated.
Forgot to write a review until now, but we stayed here late Jan/early Feb 2013 for a long weekend. Great place. We had a group of 6 people and a dog and EVERYONE enjoyed themselves. Kitchen is well-stocked, place was clean and had everything you need for a nice, relaxing ski weekend. Would have enjoyed a touch more local information since we really didn't know our way around (for example, where the ski shuttle leaves from/drops off), but we also didn't go out of our way to track this down prior to arriving in Steamboat. Overall, highly recommended!!

Our first get away without the kids
Our first get away without the kids
We had such a blast. The home was lovely and very well kept. The hot tub was such an added bonus.....and probably one of the cleanest hot tubs I've ever been in. The master bed was super cozy and we slept better than we do at home (oh, maybe that was the kid-free thing). We'd return for sure!

Great view- everything you need- spent a family Thanksgiving here and loved it. Our grandson loved sledding down the backyard hill. Hot tub was a treat!

Chipmunk Chalet review
The listing description was accurate regarding the location. The listing photos were great, but the home was even better than the photos. Loved that the bus location was close especially for skiing. Enjoyed eating at Mazzola's Italian Restaurant. Both skiing and snowshoeing were exceptional. I ate a Ragnar's on the ski mountain for lunch. Total experience was great. Only thing that was a bit frustrating to us was that the WiFi was not working.

Five of us stayed in the Chalet for 6 days and 5 nights. The home is in tiptop shape and did not have a single problem. The only problem we did have was leaving. We all had plenty of space to relax after a day of skiing. It’s about a 2 to 3 minute drive to the free parking or the parking garage. We did try the free shuttle but we all decided that the car was more suitable for us. This home has fantastic views to the ski mountain and beyond. The hot tub was nice to relax in after a day of skiing. We all plan on making this a yearly event and would defiantly stay in this home again. Margaret was great to work with. Perfect home and perfect location.

Great Winter Hideaway
Great Winter Hideaway
We stayed at Chalet Chipmunk in January 2009. Very nicely decorated and homey (not ultra-lux glitzy). Very clean and well-maintained. Christmas lights inside and out. Well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook in. Wi-fi worked well and was high speed. Private lot. Good size for 4 adults and 2 kids. Close to the mountain and Gondola Square (5 minute drive). Bus stop is about a 5 minute walk downhill in the morning and, grunt, uphill at night. Great views of town and valley view ski run. Margaret was great to work with. Would definately consider staying here again.

A very comfortable place to stay. This small house is on three different levels which is nice for privacy if you don't mind the stairs. The views are great as advertised and the hot tub was very nice after skiing. Kitchen well equipped. Close to the mountain but not ski in/out. The closest shuttle pick-up is fair walk down a steep hill so worked best for us to drive and park at area or get dropped off. We found it to be a good value.

We were pleasantly surprised when we drove up to the chalet- it was more than perfect! The whole property inside and out, was well maintained and very well decorated. We loved having a beautiful view from the living room and deck. We ended up eating in each night because we felt so comfortable just hanging out and feeling at home. I am very picky about decor and I was very happy that it was very comfortable in feel but very well done. We loved having the spa to sit in after our long day hiking and biking. The owners were very friendly too. We have twin babies and they were extremely accommodating in having cribs set up for them. We will make this our home away from home in Steamboat
