The apartment has been quite recently refurbished and is kitted out with great attention to detail for our guests. Its on the 3rd floor of an old building, with no lift - but the climb is worth it when you see the views!
The main bedroom is a good size with a King sized bed; the second bedroom is smaller, with a standard single bed and an optional 'small single' bed - which is still fine for adults and ideal for a child. A cot and high chair are available on request for young guests.
The lounge and dining area is open plan with the kitchen round the corner of an 'L' shape. The 3 big windows - all with fantastic open views give a feeling of spaciousness and ensure you're fully conscious of being in the special city of Edinburgh without even needing to leave the apartment!
The modern kitchen is well equipped (including a full size dishwasher; a set of sharp knives and basic ingredients such as olive oil and stock cubes for chefs to make themselves at home); and the stylish bathroom has a big counter top to lay out all your toiletries (hand soap, shower gel and loo rolls are all included).
Also included in your welcome pack is ground coffee (for the cafeteria/'French press' coffee maker); teabags (for the teapot, complete with tea cosy); a bottle of wine and some delicious local speciality shortbread.
Outside there's a hidden gem of a walled garden - a public space laid out in the style of a 17th century well-to-do town house garden, with herbs and seating.

About the owner: I moved up to Edinburgh in 2000 - and in doing so returned to my family roots as both my parents (and all my ancestors - to my knowledge) had been born and brought up in Scotland.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: The views and the light & brightness of the property is what makes it so special! There's windows on 3 sides - so if there's any sun in Edinburgh, it'll be in the apartment! The two big windows at the back of the property look out over Canongate Kirk churchyard and Dunbars Close Gardens, to the eclectic collection of monuments of Calton Hill. The view from the large side window in the lounge looks up the Royal Mile with a historic tollbooth clock in the foreground and a range of steeples & rooftops of the Old Town skyline behind.
The windows by the road have secondary glazing to ensure the apartment stays quiet, yet enjoys a unique historic city centre location.
