Palm Retreat located at Pineapple Village on the east end of St. Thomas is the ideal place to get away and relax in the tropical sun while staying on budget. The charming and spacious two bedroom, three full bath condo is fully air conditioned and can easily sleep six people. Walking distance to Coral World Marine Park, Coki Beach, three restaurants, and beach activities makes it an ideal place to relax.
STYLE: Single level beach house style condo featuring a spacious floor plan. Relax into the deep seated thick sofa in the fully air-conditioned living/dining room (16x37), or open the wide sliding glass wall to let the tropical trade winds provide natural cooling. Each spacious (18x16) bedroom has a private entrance and patio garden along with its own bathroom, walk in closet, and air conditioning. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other bedroom has two full beds. The sofa in the living room also converts to queen size bed and a crib is available.
AMENITIES: The fully-equipped kitchen opens either into the air-conditioned dining area or outside to the large private garden patio (36 feet by 28 feet) featuring a gas grill and bar stools pulled up to the kitchen bar. The design of the kitchen makes it easy to exchange grilled food from outside with frozen drinks from the blender in the kitchen.
The outdoor living area is complete with lounge chairs, a dining table and a hammock strung between the trees. You can relax in your own private tropical patio or take advantage of the pool and beach. The pool is only a few steps away and features a fountain and attached shallow wading pool.
A washer and dryer are in the unit for your convenience and WIFI throughout to keep connected while on vacation.

THE GROUNDS: Palm Retreat is conveniently located in close proximity to the newly renovated pool with an attached wading pool and fountain. Lounge chairs are provided around the pool or under the shaded pergolas. A short stroll through the tropical grounds brings you to Water Bay Beach where you will hear the soothing sounds of the waves rolling onto the sand. Palm trees, mango trees, bougainvillea, hibiscus, and a variety of local plants shade the walkways to the beach. Beautiful Saint John and the British Virgin Islands frame the bay as sailboats drift by.
THE AREA: Enjoy the natural beauty of Water Bay Beach while dining at Fungis or relaxing on the beach. Local fishing boats and nets rest on one end of Water Bay Beach while Fungis, the waterfront bar/restaurant serving island casual lunch and dinner is on the other side. Watch the fishermen get ready to go out in the morning or take your sandals off and soak your toes in the Caribbean Sea as you wander down the beach towards Fungis. The Agave Terrace specializing in island gourmet dinners is steps above Fungis with breathtaking views of the British Virgin Islands and St. John. Picasso’s Coffee Shop is across the street with homemade pastries and fresh coffee for breakfast and throughout the day.
Coki Beach and Coral World are a short walk away. Coki Beach is a beautiful white sandy beach with some of the island’s best snorkeling. Vendors set up during the day to rent out lounge chairs and umbrellas and serve drinks and snacks right to you on the beach. Coral World is a fun, interactive aquarium.
The town of Red Hook is about five minutes by car. Ferries leave from Red Hook for St. John and the British Islands and there are also restaurants, groceries, shopping, and other services available there.
The layout of Palm Retreat, with its completely private bedroom suites, makes it ideal for two couples or a family. It allows for enough privacy along with shared living spaces for socializing and sharing meals together.
CORAL STUDIO: We also have a separate studio available neighboring Palm Retreat. Coral Studio is perfect for two people or can be combined with Palm Retreat to accommodate a large group. The studio features a king size bed, kitchenette, private patio, and air conditioning. Please contact us for more information and availability about Coral Studio. The location of Palm Retreat at Pineapple Village is not affected by the hotel closure. Our rates reflect this. Palm Retreat is a great value for a very spacious and comfortable accommodation located on beachfront property. It is very private and quiet. You will often have the pool and beach areas to yourselves. You will notice buildings along the entrance and beach are in need of attention although the grounds and buildings within Pineapple Village are beautiful and well maintained. The guests who have stayed with us have enjoyed their stay.

The layout of Pineapple Village with single story beach house style condos and the spacious floor plan within each unit make it an easy spot to relax, especially with a family. The flat walkways and extensive tropical landscaping make it feel more like a home than a typical condo complex.
The privacy of the beach and pool make it feel like you have your own private retreat. We really like the kitchen opening to the large patio and the screened in showers in the two master bathrooms to take advantage of the tropical climate.

You will enjoy plenty of space and a good mix of modern conveniences with an environment that takes advantages of the natural tropical ambiance. The home has been updated without losing the island charm.
We especially enjoy the proximity to Coki Beach and Coral World Ocean Park. Coki has some of the island's best snorkeling and is a beautiful beach. Go for an early morning swim to have the beach to yourself and beat the heat of the day. It's a great way to start your day.

We just returned from a superb family vacation at Palm Retreat. We spent a week at this lovely vacation home with our young son and my parents. We had plenty of room for all of us. We felt like we had our own private getaway with the beach and pool all to ourselves. Palm Retreat has all the amenities of home making it an easy vacation for our family. We grilled on the BBQ every night and took our coffee to the beach for the morning sunrise. It is very clean and comfortable. The owners were here to meet us and were very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed at Palm Retreat with my family including three small children in August. We were pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of the condo. It is really more like your own beach house than a condo. It was great for the kids to play and us to relax. There was plenty of room inside with the air conditioning or outside in the private, walled in patios for the kids to play. We really enjoyed the privacy of the grounds, especially the pool which is very close. The grounds are all flat with an easy walkway to the beach. There is a wagon provided which the kids loved and was very convenient for toting supplies back and forth from the beach and pool to the home. We looked forward to returning "home" after days out exploring St. Thomas and St. John. We cooked almost every meal either on the grill outside or in the kitchen with the window opened out to the patio. The kids loved sitting on the bar stools outside and watching me cook from the inside. It was fun and memorable. We highly recommend staying here. It is a great value for a spacious, family friendly vacation rental.

I stayed in Coral Studio, a studio apartment in Pineapple Village also managed by Palm Retreat. We had a great time! The apartment was a good jumping off point and very reasonably priced. Coki Beach is awesome for relaxing and we spent most of our days there in awe of the crystal clear water. Palm Retreat management was great and everything was super easy. We were checked in and out on time and the business dealings were quick and prompt. The studio is small, but the King sized bed is a welcome addition. Plus, they have direct TV so I was able to catch some of the basketball while I waited for my girl to get ready for nights on the town. Great stay, highly recommended, and a steal for the price!

I am rather late in posting this review - our stay was actually in April 2008 (Spring Break), and we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We were actually two families, total of 7, and the accomodations worked very well for us. We enjoyed breakfasts in the courtyard (even made pancakes one morning) and it was a treat to watch the hummingbirds. Carrie and Marc were very kind and helpful with our many questions before we arrived. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful vacation property!! We( 5 family members) totally enjoyed our experience at Palm Retreat. Carrie and Marc were a pleasure to deal with. Their property was equipped to provide a relaxing vacation experience. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Imagine a beach on some days entirely for ourselves. Coki beach is within walking distance, very crowded though. We enjoyed a dinner walk to Fungi's one evening while walking along the beach that was lit up by the full moon. Very close to the St. John's ferry in Red Hook. Nice Restaurants in Red Hook. Only 3 miles away. We loved the Iguanas too!! I would highly recommend this property.

I wouldn't even know where to start about our experience in St.Thomas and this rental. It was fantastic! We went to St.Thomas for a friends wedding and 5 of us had decided to rent a vacation home instead of getting a hotel room. It was one of the best decisions! From the start, the owners Marc and Carrie were wonderful to work with. I had inquired about other rentals before deciding on this one, and none of the other owners replied back to me regarding my questions. Carrie had responded to me right away, answering any guestions I had and worked me through the payment methods. She had also sent us information about the island after a few days of making our reservation. Including taxi rates, a map on how to get to the condo from the airport, and any suggestions that might help us out with our trip. When we arrived at the condo we were in all, we were all so happy we choose this condo, it was beautiful, very clean, well maintained, very cozy and comfortable. There were 5 of us, and we all fit comfortably. There was plenty of space and room, didn't feel crowded at all. Everything we needed for our outtings to the beach was already there, we didn't have to rent anything once we got to the beach. Snorkels, chairs, towels, you name it, Carrie and Marc had it. The boys were also very happy that there was a grill! The outside patio is just relaxing. Every morning when we got up, we hung out,outside for breakfast or coffee, or to lay in the hammock that they had there or just watch some of the humming birds that were flying around. Coki Beach was our favorite out of all the beaches we had visited. And it's literally a 5 minute walk from the condo. Coki Beach had the most amount of fish for snorkeling! We would all like to thank Marc and Carrie for their wonderful place. If I go back to St. Thomas, they will be the first that I call, and it the place is reserved, I think I would wait for it! I have already told some friends and family about the property and told them, this is the place to stay!!!

Very roomy, clean and has all the accomodations you can ask for. The owners were extremely accomodating and easy to work with.They brought in all toddler accessories for our 18 month old daughter which was a huge help. Very private and quiet. The outside,enclosed pation was one of the best features with hummingbirds to watch. We would go back there again in a heartbeat! Fungi's and Agave restaurants are within walking distance.
