If you are looking for an Extra Large Vacation Home, the Vista at Virginia Canyon is it! Perfectly located in the heart of Ruidoso, the home is appropriately named for its views of Large Elk crossing the property's 1.5 acres, frequent daily visits by Deer, and a gentle view of Sierra Blanca from Virginia Canyon Road. The home has about 3,200 square feet of space with sleeping accommodations for 2 to 16.
Although very spacious, the home has a cozy cottage cabin feel with lots of room for family and friends. Its large back deck has a Gas BBQ grill and Hot Tub with views of the forest and local wildlife.

Why the Owner Chose Ruidoso
This home is a dream come true for big get-togethers or family reunions, yet cozy enough for two. Ruidoso and surrounding area has 7 golf courses, skiing, fishing, Ruidoso Downs Race Track and lots of shopping. We love to hike or mountain bike the many forested trails along with fishing in the local streams and lakes.

One of my favorite Juniper trees in the mountains. Growing up in the mountains, I'd always hoped to have a home there. Then I was transferred to Ruidoso because of a job relocation in 1999, and couldn't believe how beautiful this NM town in the mountains was. I love sharing my home with visitors to Ruidoso, so they can have a home away from home. In 2006, I remodeled this home with the intent of renting to vacationers who want all the comforts of home, and can stay together in one big house without spending a fortune.

We enjoyed this place along with tubing and Ski Apache! Also, if you get snow down here at the house and you brought sleds, you can sled down the driveway on the left side of the house into the forest! :-)

We had a blast feeding the deer. By the way, they love apples! WE had 10 deer at the back porch one morning. I guess the word got out! LOL We went to Winter Park, that was fun. FYI, they give military discounts. Bonita Stables offers horseback riding and it is well worth it! We rode through Lincoln National Forest. On our last day we took western pictures, how fun! Our 16 year old picked up skiing in 10 minutes and was running the difficult slopes. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed! Thanks for an awesome visit! Merry Christmas!

We really enjoyed our time in your home. It was the first time we all stayed in one home or ever stayed in New Mexico. We were so lucky that it actually snowed and everything was awesome. It is a memory none of us will forget!
