Estes Park cabin description
If you are planning to spend time in the amazing Rocky Mountains, our home is the best of all worlds. The gorgeous views, comfortable amenities and quiet location near town provide everything you need to relax after a long day hiking, cross-country skiing, fishing, climbing, sightseeing or wildlife-viewing. We are just a 20 minute walk to Mary’s Lake Lodge for great entertainment and dining. The property is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped peaks and plenty of blue skies and bright stars. You can build a fire in our outdoor pit and sit and watch stars under clear skies.
Our home is complete with lovely furnishings, comfortable pillow-topped king beds in two of the bedrooms and set of twins in the third bedroom. From the bedroom windows you can often see deer and elk coming down from the Roosevelt forest as you wake in the morning. Since our dining room and den is completely surrounded by picture windows, dinners are complemented with sunset views of Lumpy’s Ridge, the snow-capped Mummy Range and the beautiful Estes Valley, as well as frequent visits from hummingbirds, blue birds, elk, deer, rabbits and occasional bear, coyote or mountain lion (very rare).
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare even the most complex meal. You will also find a propane grill just out the back door for a warm summer barbeque along with a huge deck; perfect for an outdoor picnic, watching for shooting stars or just relaxing in good conversation or reading a book.

Though we have been to Estes Park many times previously, this was our first visit to this particular cabin. We found it to be an excellent home base for our week of hiking! Great location, fantastic views, nicely furnished and decorated (including artwork by the owner!) and very well equipped. We utilized handy amenities such as the gas grill and the crockpot on nights when we weren't out enjoying our favorite local eateries. I've learned to bring along a box of "survival" items, as our previous cabin location lacked certain basics, but these things remained packed away this year as I had no need of them. There were 5 adults in the cabin, and we found it to be ample and comfortable. We all agreed that the sunporch and deck were our favorite features - the scenery and wildlife were a treat at any time of day! We were very pleased with all aspects of the property and hope to return at a future time!

fabulous location and fabulous view!
fabulous location and fabulous view!
We rented this wonderful cabin for our stay in Estes Park this past June. The cabin looked cute and cozy online but so was SO much more than that in person! The location (2 minutes from town), the deck, the sunroom and bedrooms were all wonderful and even prettier than the pictures. Karen could not have been nicer or more helpful. Being from Chicago, we loved hanging out on the deck and sunroom enjoying the spectacular view! Karen had games, books, and even netflix if we wanted to see a movie. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. We are a family of five and there was ample room for all of us to hang out. Her kitchen was well stocked and we cooked quite a few meals there. The natural beauty of the Rockies was overwhelming and there was wildlife all around the cabin - elk, deer, turkeys, hummingbirds. We hiked in RMNP, which was just a few minutes away every day. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to return soon! Thanks again Karen! Jill Chicago, IL

I was looking for a cabin that was close to the park entrance but not right in town yet close enough to hit town for dinner, groceries, etc. This place was perfect since was only a 10 minutes drive to RMNP without driving through the middle of Estes Park but it was only 10 minutes drive to town. The cabin is well stocked. We have two teenagers so we ate breakfast at the cabin everyday, packed a lunch and alternated between eating out or at the cabin so we used the kitchen a lot. Not once during our 8 night stay did I think, "Gee I wish we had a ___." You could literally live at this place and show up with nothing but your clothes. The small kitchen appliances were all high end. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The photos do not capture the charm and beauty of this place. The back of the cabin is lined with a bank of windows in a sun room and the view is incredible. I spent every morning in the sun room soaking up the beauty and planning what trails to hike for the day. We have rented many vacation homes and condos and I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with this place.

Beautiful and Relaxing Cabin
Beautiful and Relaxing Cabin
My family and I were looking to vacation in the mountains for the first time. This cabin was everything we wanted and more. It is only a few minutes from downtown Estes Park, but still up on the mountainside. The view from the deck is truly spectacular. We spent every morning on the deck having coffee and breakfast. Feeling the warmth of the sun popping up over the mountains was simply unforgetable. Although there are a few homes nearby, you can't really see them unless you are looking for them. The cabin was exceptionally clean and neat, and also well stocked. Bob and Karen thought of everything a traveler may have needed in a pinch. Everything smelled very fresh and clean, especially towels and sheets. I am very particular about cleanliness, and felt very much at home there. The cabin was exactly like the pictures, but of course was even better in person! My children actually squeeled with delight the first time we walked through the door. The sunroom was amazing at all times of the day. Karen was a delight to work with as she immediately responded to every inquiry we had. I never had to wait on her response. This was a wonderful home to stay in with our 2 young children. We couldn't have dreamed it any better. Our hike around Bear Lake, and from there on to Alberta Falls was our favorite outing. The beauty there was unmatched and undoubtedly a gift from above. It was just a short drive to get to Bear Lake from the cabin, and was a great activity for our 7 and 4 year old. Our other favorite activity was walking the riverwalk in downtown Estes. The kids loved the rushing river along the shops. Poppy's Pizza and Grill was collectively our favorite restaurant along the riverwalk. I can promise anyone who is contemplating this cabin, that it is a wonderful choice and you won't be sorry. I had previously read thousands of cabin reviews on vrbo, and I am so glad I chose this cabin. Rest assured, it is worth every penny! We can't wait to return!

Owner response: We so appreciate the opportunity to have shared our home with you and all of our guests who have been able enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Rockies. It is truly a magical place. Sincerely, Bob and Karen
We had a wonderful visit in Estes Park. The cabin was neat and very well equipped. The bedding was lush and the kitchen contained quality pots and pans...even a cook book. There were brochures for local activities and restaurants but I especially enjoyed the journal that was left by previous guest detailing their exploits in the area! The front room was by far my favorite. The view is breathtaking. Karen responded to my questions quickly via e-mail. I almost passed this listing because the photo made the home look so small. It actually sits up on a hill making it difficult to photograph. Don't be fooled, there is a lot of special things about this property. Karen & Kelly Thomas Atlanta, GA

Owner response: It is always a warm feeling to know our guests feel the same way we do about our home in the Rockies. For many people vacations come only once a year. It is important to us that our home is a place where our guests want to come back year after year and many do. Bob & Karen
Great Little Cabin in a Beautiful setting!
Great Little Cabin in a Beautiful setting!
We have stayed all over Estes and I have to say that this has been one of my favorite homes to stay in. It had a nice view with a great deck and lots of deer and even a bear visited us! It's decor reminded me of the store Pottery Barn. I would highly recommend renting this property for a small family. The only thing I missed was cable but who needs to watch TV when you are in the mountains!!

Wonderful place and comfy beds
Wonderful place and comfy beds
We had such a wondeful time at this cabin. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen has everything we needed to feel at home. Our daughter loved watching the hummingbirds on the big deck and we really enjoyed looking at the mountains from the sunroom. We also liked having the firepit to roast marshmellows over while we sat and talked about our days' adventures. We will certainly stay again when we head back to Estes Park. Thank you!

About the owner: We love the beautiful Rocky Mountains anytime of year. Bob loves to fly fish. We both love hiking, cross-country skiing and just enjoying sitting by an alpine lake reading a book. When the opportunity came for us to purchase our own piece of paradise, we couldn't resist. We loved every moment we spent renovating this lovely cabin that was originally located in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
When we found this cabin, we knew it would be the perfect home for us. It needed a bit of work, but the mountain views from the picture windows and deck sold us on the home. The quiet location in a private treed neighborhood sealed the deal. Being close to the activities of Estes Park without any of the hustle and bustle was exactly what we were looking for. Wildlife roam through the property regularly and often decide to stay for a while. The cabin itself is spacious and with the hardwood floors and beautiful warm decor, we can't imagine we could have found a more perfect home for us to enjoy and share with our guests.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love waking to deer, elk, wild turkeys, and/or hummingbirds outside our bedroom window, then sitting out on the deck for breakfast breathing in the fresh mountain air. Typically, we head out for a hike to an alpine lake early so we can get back to enjoy a relaxed BBQ on the deck. Later we might spend the evening watching for shooting stars while we build a small campfire in the fire pit and maybe roast a few marshmallows. It is our place to relax and get away to the quite solitude that nature has to offer, yet still have all the comforts of home.
