  This hawaiian style cottage is in the perfect location. It's just up the hill enough to have fantastic views and only a 5-10 minute walk to the most gorgeous beach. We swam every morning on nearly deserted Lanikai beach. It's a great base to explore Kailua and Oahu too. It's a great value considering Lanikai has some of the most expensive real estate around! The owner lives right there and is a wealth of information.

  The write up accurately represents the property. Great Beach cottage with a fantastic view and easy access as described. The owner is a gracious hostess and made us feel right at home. Comfortable and easy to settle into. Would return on our next visit to Oahu and Lanikai!

  This comfortable, rustic and cozy cottage was an excellent place for my husband and I to experience the windward side of the island. We have been to all other areas of the island and found Lanikai/Kailua to be one of our favorites. The beach, which is just a short walk down the lane, felt like powdered sugar and the calmness and colors of the water are spectacular! The cottage is super close to amenities and shopping without the crowds of other locations. In our opinion, the following things are the sprinkles on the sundae of this little gem of a cottage: the king bed is exceptionally comfortable and the view from the kitchen and living room are a astoundingly beautiful. Noni is outgoing and genuinely friendly and we are very much looking forward to seeing her again on our next booking!!

  I stayed at the cottage with my two children (ages 11 and 8). It was just the three of us, so I was concerned about finding a place in a safe neighborhood. Noni's cottage far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Not only was the cottage beautiful, it had everything we needed and is in the perfect location. Lanikai is such a wonderful place- you see people out jogging with their dogs, kids at the park...I felt safe day and night. The pictures on this listing do not do the place justice! Imagine waking up every morning and enjoying your coffee while watching the sun rise (from the living room!) over the Mokulua Islands. It was breathtaking. The ocean breeze at night, the yard out front with a treehouse for the kids, convenient parking, washer/dryer and clothesline, kitchen, comfortable beds...I could go on and on. My only disappointment is that I couldn't stay longer! Noni was friendly, courteous and helpful- the booking process was so easy. The location is great- safe and convenient- there's a market, Safeway, and several restaurants nearby (but the cottage is in a beautiful residential neighborhood, away from traffic). I would definitely recommend Pinky's- the food was great and Tuesday's are family nights- they have the best balloon animal guy ever. Cinnamon's was great for breakfast. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this cottage- it will be the perfect place to stay in Hawaii!

• Amazing family vacation

  We just returned from a week long vacation at this beautiful cottage. This place was absolutely perfect! The pictures do not do it justice. The view is spectacular and the location could not be better. The cottage is clean and has all the amenities you could need. We had our 15 month old son with us and he had a blast playing outside on the lanai. I'm convinced he did not want to come home. The area has a lot of cute shops and plenty of dining options. I loved the convenience of the town. Both Lanikai and Kailua Beach were beautiful. We would recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back!

  We had a really wonderful time and peaceful stay in this cottage. It was too bad that we could only stay three days. It was our first time to stay in Lanikai, but I have decided to come back here soon in next year with a longer plan of stay. We were a party of four hula girls stayed there. Sadly, Noni was away for her vacation, but her friend was there to help us everything. We were a little nervous that we might be too noisy at this silent town at night, but she told us she heard nothing and we were relieved to hear that. There was a bundle of clean towels, clean bed sheets, and enough varieties of kitchen tools. We could park our rented bicycles in a safe garage. A big sun shade was there that protected us from the strong sun burn at the beach as well. I have to say this place is much better than you see on the photos!! I will come back again with my friends for sure. Thank you, Noni and Ann.

  I can't say enough about our stay in this wonderful cottage in Lanikai In September. Sadly we were only there for 3 nights. We've already decided that when we return to Hawaii, we want to stay only here. The cottage has literally everything you could ever need - down to straw sun hats (both his and hers). We didn't use the kayak or cooler but they were there if we needed them. You cannot beat this location - with the beautiful water view and a short walk to the two best beaches in Oahu - Lanikai & Kailua. The cottage had a grill, a full kitchen, washer/dryer (plus a clothesline) which was so convenient. Noni was so welcoming and accommodating and answered any questions we had. She gave us suggestions of where to pick up groceries, where to pick up snacks and where to have dinner. She never steered us wrong. This really was a warm, comfortable and cozy cottage and we could not have been happier as we started our trip in Hawaii. The only thing that would've made us happier is if we could've stayed longer Mahalo Noni!

  My mother, two children (ages 11 and 13) and I have just returned from a fabulous 10 night stay. The unit is picture-perfect. Tastefully decorated, amazing views, comfortable beds, huge supply of towels. :) We took advantage of the boogie boards, beach chairs and cooler that are available to use. I hope someday we will be able to return to this amazing spot. Mahalo!

  We stayed here for five days and wished we'd had more time. The location is fantastic with a lovely beach a five minute walk away plus there is a two person kayak for paddling to a nearby island (which we had to ourselves in the morning). The accommodations are very comfortable and the living room has an absolutely stunning view as does the lanai. The home is a bit careworn around the edges, kind of like a family cottage at the beach but it is very comfortable for two people or two adults and two small children in the second bedroom. Lanikai is a very small community about five minutes by car from Kailua which has restaurants and markets including a new Whole Foods which was great. We spent very little time in the car during our stay. The landlord was very helpful and quite a delightful person to chat with as an added bonus. Of minor interest to most, if you are gluten free it is very nice to have Whole Foods nearby as Hawaii is not a very gluten free friendly place. Plus the Cactus Cafe is a classy dinner and lunch place that also does gluten free. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to have a true Hawaiian vacation without the noise, traffic and bustle of Waikiki.

  My husband and I have actually stayed here twice. We stayed in July of 2009 and came back June 2011. The cottage is very private, insanely close to the beach, and immediately feels like home. The view is spectacular and the breeze that fills this windward house is really something. I really recommend this cottage for a vacation that you'll never forget! I miss it already.
