Setting up the rental was a breeze, as the owner was very prompt with replies. Check in was similarly easy. Quiet street at night. The home was clean. Modern appliances were present. The second floor master suite at the top of the circular stairs was warm figuratively and liferally, with new cedar (?)closets, walls,ceilings. There were loads of electronics and the rooms were wired for sound. The hot tub off of the kitchen was fantastic. It was placed close to the fence adding a bit of privacy. Great local vegetarian restaurant, coffee/bagel shop in walking distance. Likely walking distance to lake. I would definitely stay there again.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed here over Presidents Day with my husband and daughter. It is a gorgeous and well kept home! Beautiful bathrooms and kitchen! Only complaint is that we couldn't find a cookie sheet in the kitchen, though this doesn't necessarily mean there is one. Otherwise the home had everything essential to our stay. Highly recommend!

Cozy Cabin for a Winter Getaway

This was our first stay in South Lake Tahoe, and we definitely picked the right cabin the first time! There was a small hang-up when we got there on which cabin on the property we were to use (A or B), but after we got that all ironed out, we had such a lovely stay! The cabin is so beautiful; the pictures on this website really don't do the house justice! The tiled floors were wonderful, the kitchen is set up nicely, the living room is cozy, the jetted tub was extremely relaxing, and the hot tub was so awesome! We loved the decor, and Charlotte made sure to call and check to make sure everything was perfect for us. The side yards are secluded, the sidewalks were plowed, and the property was very clean. There wasn't one thing missing in this house! We felt right at home! Luxurious comfort for a great price.

This cozy and luxurious cabin is AWESOME. Sleeps 4 comfortably (2 bedroom, 2 bath), but it would be very tight with additional people, even though there is a sleeper couch in the living room. The place is packed with amenities - the entire top floor is a custom master suite. However, it's accessible only by a spiral staircase that's a little sketchy. Stone floors with radiant heat in the bathrooms and kitchen, very comfortable beds and linens, beautiful kitchen, every cooking container/implement you could ever need, hot tub, gas grill, gas fireplaces upstairs and down, wireless, on and on. The rate varies -bit the timing for our trip made it very reasonable - a pretty sweet deal for 4 people. Also, dog friendly, big back yard, safe and secure.

Wonderful Cabin for a Getaway!

We stayed in the South Lake Tahoe cabin for 3 nights in February 2011 (2 guests). This cabin is great! There were all the comforts of home- wireless internet, satellite TV, laundry... which is great! But if you come to Tahoe to getaway from it all- then this is the place for you! Very nice master bedroom with jacuzzi tub and stone shower, comfortable bed and fireplace. Hot tub was a wonderful treat, especially with the snow coming down around you! There is off-street parking and the cabin is only a few blocks to the beach. Heavenly ski resort is about 10 minutes away. There are some restaurants within walking distance. It snowed a lot while we were there and someone came and shoveled out behind our car and all the way to the front door, which was much appreciated! Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want a quiet little cabin that has all the modern amenities and is close to all South Lake Tahoe activities!

Welcoming Cozy Tahoe Cabin

I've stayed at this cabin 3 times (and once at the owner's other Tahoe cabin), for both my Summer & Winter getaways, and I found it to be just the perfect spot. The owner is very professional and welcoming, the transaction is effortless. The cabin is well maintained and include all the necessary amenities, including a hot tub, bbq, fireplace (both indoor & outdoor), heated floors, a fenced yard (great for the dog and dining al fresco). The cabin is located in a nice "locals" neighborhood walking distance to the lake. I can't stay here without heading to Rojo's on the corner for their mouth-watering baby back ribs. Close to the Heavenly gondola and Richardson's Corral. I would certainly recommend this property to my friends and family.

Great Fall Get-Away

My hsb and I stayed here October 9-12, 2010. The cabin is quite stylish and very cozy. The family room is very comfortable for 2 adults. We had our labrador and had her pillow in front of the fireplace which was perfect. The kitchen had everything you could want to cook with. The bathrooms have heated tile floors which are incredibly wonderful in the early mornings. The outdoor jacuzzi was in great condition and was used daily. The cabin is in a location that is centrally located to downtown, some good hiking areas and beaches. (which are dog friendly this time of year) There were a couple of minor issues (upstair TVs did not work and the Jacuzzi tub was not usable ) that need to be remedied. The TV downstairs was great but we could not figure out how to use the surround sound. A dock for an iPod would be a great addition to this cabin. I strongly recommend the use of this cabin! We hope to get back and stay longer.

Gem of a Spot!!!

Stayed at this beautiful getaway 7/14 - 7/21 2010, during the Celebrity Golf Tournament at Edgewood. Had an absolutely great time. The cabin is a diamond in the rough and a great base from which to vacation from. Remodel is very nice and tastefully done. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, whether you want to throw something on the grill or whip up a gourmet dinner. We had our four-legged child with us and the fully fenced yard was perfect for her. Rental process was simple and found the owner accessable and easy to deal with. Security deposit was returned within a week. We'll be back!

My family and i found this property to be very quaint and well located for a wonderful South Tahoe week! The cabin was well stocked with everything one could need on vacation. We would certainly rent it again! I personally enjoyed the showers in the place they both had great water pressure, and awsome shower heads. The experience was nice, thank you!

We loved the cabin, it was just as cozy as the pictures promised. We were genuinely sad to leave. Look forward to return visits. We were literally minutes from the lake, downtown, everything we wanted encapsulated in one little spot.

Owner too disorganized to enjoy

Rented the cabin for our honeymoon. Had to contact owner twice to get confirmation and directions which never came. Owner called shortly before our trip and could not find the deposit check we had sent. Was still playing phone tag the day of our honeymoon for directions. Cabin was freezing when we arrived on 2/5/10 and took hours to warm up as a downstairs heater was broken. The rest of the stay was nice as the cabin is beautiful. Returned home where I notified owner the heater was broken. She apologized and then took three weeks to return our full deposit. To stressful for a relaxing honeymoon!

Owner response:I am sorry that your Honeymoon was not what you were hoping for. I would like to clairfy somethings. I have a copy of the check that I sent you back and it was dated 7 days after your stay. The heater that was not working was the heater in the downstairs bathroom. As far as me being disorganized to enjoy. I had a great loss in my family and I was still dealing with that. I also had just moved. I gave you a great price on 2 days, I normally rent 3 day min. in high season. Because it was your honeymoon, I wanted to do something nice. Sorry that it back fired so badly.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple days with our baby. We had a wonderful time. Everything was new and clean. All the nice touches like the landscaping lighting, the television in the kitchen, and the stereo in the upstairs suite were much appreciated. Thank you so much for such a nice place!

By far, the most perfect place to stay. We didn't want for a thing during our stay at this beautiful cabin in Tahoe. Very cozy and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub in the masterbath was used every single day and night!!! We had so much fun riding bikes, sunset walks, kayaking, hiking, Heavenly gondola rides, lying in the sun at the beach, eating and romance. We cannot imagine ever staying anywhere else. We came for 8 days and decided to stay even longer. It is really hard to leave and go back to reality. This cabin is a home away from home and will be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone... I promise. Counting the days until we can come back!

Plumbing Problems!

As cute as this little house was the stay was overshadowed by plumbing problems. Friday night (our first night in the house) the neighbors in the front cabin started doing laundry (laundry is connected to back house) and it caused the sink in the kitchen to overflow all over the floor. The caretaker came over around 9pm and it didn't get wrapped up until after 11pm. Saturday morning we got up & took a shower & again the kitchen sink overflowed all over the floor. This time they called a plumber and we spent 4 hours that morning waiting for things to get fixed. Not quite how I planned on spending the little time we had up there. The owners father offered to put us in a smaller unit he had that had no kitchen, but never was there any mention of compensating us for the troubles. When we returned from our trip I requested some sort of refund back and have never heard back from the owner. Very disappointing! Will definetly find another house to rent on our next trip up.

We have been going to Lake Tahoe at least twice a year over the last 15 years and I have to say that this was by far one of the best rentals we have ever had! Great location close to everything. Also very private. This is a wonderful rental for any couple who needs a romantic vacation. We will be back! Thank you charlotte!!

Disappointed -- Did not receive what we paid for

Nice cabin in a convenient location if your primary focus is to ski Heavenly but one significant issue completely overshawdowed our experience... a water pipe busted in the second shower BEFORE our arrival (without prior notification to us) and it never got repaired during our stay. In the end, the real problem became our frustration about the poor handling of this situation -- rather than the pipe itself (after all, problems happen to us all). Owner does not have customer-focused attitude: 1) Lack of prompt attention / repair. 2) Absolutely no willingness to reimburse our $300 extra we paid for this cabin vs. a "sister cabin" with one bathroom for $300 less. Owner only offered a $200 credit for a "return stay" which had $0 value to our family because, of course, after such a poor experience... why would we ever return. Also, be aware that when we arranged for our lodging, the actual cost conveyed by the owner was $300 more than the amount documented as the weekly cost on the website. We were told by the owner that the website pricing was a bit "out-of-date" and reluctantly paid the extra. It was important to our family to have the 2nd bathroom for the convenience of getting ready each day. Obviously, this was a mistake since the owner received all our money and we never received the benefit of having a 2nd shower that we paid for. One final note on this subject... website appears to have been updated now (one month later). However, the price we were quoted via email from the owner is still MORE than the website states... this is deceptive in my opinion. Very disappointed -- even after MANY efforts to rectify directly with the owner. We would not recommend cabin and do not plan to return.

Spent 8 wonderful days here ad we couldn't have asked for better accommodations! My wife and I just loved all the amenities - including that great full size hot tub after a long day of skiing, and the convenience of the location to all the great shops and restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. Within walking distance to the lake, the local winery and some funky-great local places to eat. We will be back again for sure, we just can't wait!

cozy and convenient

The property is a nicely updated older Tahoe cabin with fireplace upstairs and down. The loft master suite is rustically beautiful and fun. The living room area is dark, cozy but small. The kitchen is unusually well supplied. There are TV's throughout the cabin but they are difficult to control. The location is excellent for touring South Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas. A car is necessary. The owner has supplied the home with many little "extras" that make it feel like home.
