A peaceful haven is the best way to describe the location of this studio; situated 50 feet above the waterline. Drift off to sleep while listening to the waves lapping against the coastline and wake up to see the sunrise over the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy your breakfast while watching the hummingbirds feed off the rare Saint Lucian Cigar flowers growing on the arbor above. Look below on a clear day you can spot the fish and sea turtles frolicking below. Look up and you will see the pelicans soaring by your deck which is our only traffic in this neighborhood.

The fully equipped studio is conveniently located: only five minutes to Magen's Bay Beach, Mahogany Run Golf Course, our own little Mandahl Beach and 10 minutes to Charlotte Amalie which makes it a perfect location for one or two people looking for a true island experience or a couple relocating to St. Thomas.

Ask the owners about booking boat trips (i.e., day sails, scuba diving, BVI trips). If you are looking to ease into your vacation, a massage therapist is available for in-house treatments. We are here to please!

  • WOW ! What a place, and what great hosts. My wife & I just arrived back home after a stay at Lucinda & Sean's Studio . This was our 20th anniversary , and this place did not let us down ! Beautiful in every way. We arrived late on a Sunday night, after a 5 hour delay from the airline and made our way to the studio. Lucinda helped guide us in and we arrived in the early evening. Most of the stores had closed for the night, and we were tired, sore , hungry and wanted a glass of wine. Lucinda jumped into action and made us a couple of wraps, and let us borrow a bottle of wine. What a life saver : ) The view was fantastic, the privacy wonderful, the location perfect , perfect perfect. Megans bay is only a 5 min drive and our favorite beach. Joker, Rex, & Buddy made us feel like we were part of the family and you do feel just that way win staying with Lucinda & Sean. You must also vist Lucindas art Studio in town. Incredible ! You will walk away as we did, exicted to own a piece of her art work that lets you take home that Kool feeling of being part of the family. If you are a runner like my wife & I, you will find an great run from Megans bay up the PeterBorg Estate Rd (6 miles round trip) breathtaking views , hills , hills and more hills. I am back at home now trying to figure out when we can go back. The whole experience was fantastic . Bravo , and thank you for one of the best trips we have had in 20 yrs.. Ray Johnson

  • I hesitate to write about Lucinda's beautiful villa for fear it will become so popular that we won't be able to re-book. It's a treasure! Spectacular views, pets to love-on(large and small ones!), secluded and peaceful. Lucinda is a great host and there's a bonus: she's a fabulous artist/teacher! Be sure and sign up for a watercolor class at the Ritz with her. EVEN if you think you have no talent you'll have fun.

  • Wow!!! What a wonderful experience. Right from the beginning you know you are some place special, by the palm tree lined driveway. It feels like you are heading to some exclusive hidden resort. What you find is a private, beautiful and serene sanctuary. Our stay here at this stunning home on the cliff side with an amazing studio overlooking the bay was incredible. Words can't express the beautiful views from the floor to ceiling windows peering out to see the turquoise blue waters, swaying palm trees, and islands out in the distance. The feel of the soft tropical breezes, the sound of the waves crashing, and the site of night time stars makes you feel like you're in paradise. Lucinda, the owner, graces the walls of the studio with her beautiful artwork. Her hospitality and kindness were greatly appreciated. As well as the company of her friendly, cute, and very well behaved pets Rex, Buddy, and Joker. All the amenities we needed were provided, so that made things just that more relaxing and pleasant. Definitely the place to stay if you love the quiet, peaceful, good life :)

  • Don't hesitate. During our stay, we explored the whole island for future reference, and you will find no place like this. You won't be disappointed. Rent a car from the airport and then get away from the commercial side of St. Thomas and have an amazing view, accomodations, and be near the top beaches on the island, or in the world for that matter. Cost is not even comparable to other locations, and you get so much more with your stay. You been to one resort, you been to them all... Mandahl Bay is the authentic, and best way to go. Just make the reservation and you'll have no regrets...

  • I stayed here for 8 days recently. It is a very nice, relaxing and quiet property! The views are amazing -- the ocean below, the sunrises and sunsets, islands -- all beautiful and wonderful to watch from the gallery (balcony). Very comfortably furnished and equipped. Lucinda is a great hostess -- had great ideas and suggestions. I definitely recommend it!

  • My husband and I stayed in the studio for ten days in December. We arrived during a tropical storm which provided the most beautiful crashing waves below us. We also had the most beautiful moonlit nights I have ever seen. The moon glistening over the water with Tortola, BVI lit up in the background is a sight to behold. We are frequent visitors to the Island and have stayed in a number of places, but if you're looking for the classic island ambiance and view - this is it. Lucinda is a great host and if you like dogs - she has two of the best. Lyn and Scot Stewart

  • My hubby and I stayed at Lucinda's for a week in May, 2007, and we can't wait to get back! The studio is far from the bustle of Charlotte Amalie (not that anything is *far* on the island), but everything you need is a stone's throw away: a nice little grocery, fine dining , and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Magen's Bay. The view is so grand it seems unreal, and the decor is refreshing and comfortable, including a well-furnished kitchen and plenty of books, ranging from art theory to paperback thrillers. We especially enjoyed Joker, "our" cat for our week in paradise, who was often waiting by the door when we came home. Rent a Jeep, take the car ferry to St. John, hike to the ocean, and then come home and enjoy drinks on the balcony as the cool breeze blows in from the bay. We will be back!

  • My wife and I are frequent visitors to St. Thomas USVI. We visit the island about five times a year. Wanting to try something different we booked this studio at Mandahl Bay. Its panoramic ocean view is beautiful. We finally understood what it feels like to live on St. Thomas like a native. The studio has plenty of privacy, but if you ask you will find Lucinda to be a charming host. Try the studio you won't be sorry. The space is nicer than many of the hotel rooms tourists usually book.

  • Freddie and I visited St. Thomas in June and had a wonderful stay,the studio apartment was perfect for us and the views were awesome,they were post card worthy. Lucinda was very helpful in giving us tips on food and beaches to see.We would love to return. Denise Graves
