Stevens Pass cabin description
If you are looking for an upscale, mountain cabin close to skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and swimming; then Bowman’s Riverside Retreat is the perfect spot for you. Our charming cottage, which sleeps eight, sits snuggly on the banks of the Skykomish River in the heart of Washington’s Cascade Mountains on Stevens Pass. There is a lot to do. In the winter you can take advantage of our $50 lift tickets and 25% off youth tickets and ski or board at Stevens Pass. In the Spring and Summer you can fish the Skykomish, explore the river in the cabin's kayak, relax on the beach, or hike to alpine lakes or Wallace Falls. Located an hour northeast of Seattle, it is easy to find and accessible year round.
This newly remodeled, non-smoking cabin with its breathtaking river and mountain views is ideal for a family vacation, couples’ retreat, or a romantic get-away. The main floor features an inviting great room, modern kitchen, restful queen bedroom, and full bath. The living room area is beautifully decorated with a new queen hide-a-bed and a woodburning fireplace. The dining area comfortably seats six. The kitchen is equipped with a glass top double convection oven, refrigerator with ice-maker, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, coffee grinder, utensils, and cookware.
The cabin has satellite TV, a VCR/DVD player, and a iPod docking station. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination. A sliding glass door leads to a large deck where you can enjoy the hot tub, outdoor dining, read your favorite book, or listen to the sounds of nature. Upstairs there are two cozy bedrooms both with mountain views. One contains a king-size bed and the other has two twin beds.
A studio, perfect for an artist's retreat or a bunkhouse, is next to the cabin and may be rented for an extra $50/day during the spring and summer months.
The landscaped backyard has a riverside fire pit where you can sit around a crackling fire and roast hotdogs or make s’mores. Just steps away from the backyard is the crystal clear water of the ever-changing Skykomish River.
Outstanding recreational activities await you in this year-round mountain paradise. Winter offers our guests downhill skiing and snowboarding at Stevens Pass which is less than a half hour away and discounted lift tickets are available. Cross country skiing at the Nordic Center is just beyond the summit. After a great day in the snow, spend the evening enjoying the hot tub and relaxing next to a warm fire.
The mountains are beautiful in the spring as nature comes alive. The weather is usually warm enough for hiking and mountain biking. Birdwatching is also a favorite pastime. Keep an eye open for the eagles that often soar above the river and surrounding forest.
Summer is a wonderful time to explore our river valley and mountains. Take your kayaks, rafts, or tubes up the river and then enjoy the scenery and serenity of the mountains as you float back down to the cabin. Stevens Pass Bike Park opens three chairlifts to bikers and senic riders. Numerous mountain trails offer a variety of hikes through the forest to alpine lakes, waterfalls, and picturesque vistas. For our guests who just want to relax, you can catch a few rays on the sandy beach or swim in the river.
In the fall brilliant red, orange, and yellow leaves contrast with the evergreen trees, and paint the mountainsides with color. This is a great time to hike or bike the mountain trails and roads.
Bowman’s Riverside Retreat is the perfect place to stay while you enjoy many local attractions. For the technical rock climber, ten minutes away is the town of Index which is located at the base of a world class vertical rock face. An hour east, is the charming Bavarian town of Leavenworth that has many seasonal activities and festivals. An hour west, is the Seattle area with its ferry rides, museums, and the Seattle Center which is home to the Space Needle.
Bowman's Riverside Retreat is the perfect place to create family memories while enjoying the great outdoors.

We reserved the property for my sisters Bachelorette weekend, The place is absolutely adorable and was squeaky clean! We greatly appreciated all the thoughtful touches (lighter fluid for the BBQ, a multitude of kitchenware, ample towels, etc.) and Jill and Bob were wonderful hosts and made our stay a breeze. The highlight of our weekend was definitely all the fun we had on the beach! Which wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without the relaxation station or the other floats that were made available for our usage. We weren't there for more than 6 hours before the talk of when we were coming back began! We will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks again to Jill and Bob for a great weekend and making our celebration memorable :)

Owner response: Leia, thank you so much for taking the time to post such kind words about your stay at our cabin. We are delighted that you and your Bachelorette Party Group had such a wonderful time, and found the cabin and beach perfect for your stay. We agree that the tubes, and the kayak are great for exploring the river, and the Relaxation Station is terrific for enjoying the river and spending time with friends and family. We now have had a Bachelorette Party, a wedding reception, and a wedding on the river. We love taking part in these happy celebrations and sharing our cabin with our fantastic guests. Bowman's Riverside Retreat looks forward to you and your family and friends visiting us again. Jill and Bob
Stayed in 2013 & 2011 - a relaxing, fabulous family vacation both times
Stayed in 2013 & 2011 - a relaxing, fabulous family vacation both times
My family stayed here for two weeks in June 2011 with 3 adults and 2 kids (2 & 4 years). The family so enjoyed the vacation the first time we returned for two weeks in June 2013. We looked at other parts of the state to stay in for 2013 but in the end the weather, location, activities within a 1 hour drive, and easy to work with owners made us repeat customers. The house is in a great location, as-described, and very cute. The flower beds on the property have beautiful flowering plants. The mountains in the area make a great backdrop with breath-taking sunsets. We spent many hours just watching and listening to the river from the patio deck and the beach...so relaxing. The accommodations were as described, clean, well stocked, and maintained. There was plenty of room for our active crew to spread out but the place was not so big that it required a lot of effort to keep clean (those with kids will understand). The owners Bob and Jill were very easy to work with while booking the trip and answered questions in advance of our arrival. Once we arrived they were available if we needed anything, made recommendations and again answered any questions. Bob & Jill were so gracious with the kids which made this mom very grateful. We found a great way to balance the vacation was to alternate between stay-at-home days and day-trip excursions to near-by activities 1-1.5 hours away. Our family visited Duvall (cute town with a fun park for the kids), Carnation (strawberry picking), Stephens Pass, Leavonworth (fun German themed town with shopping), Wanatchee (wineries, Ohme gardens & apple, pear, cherry picking), Snoqualmie (waterfall you should NOT miss & old time trains) & of course Seattle (aquarium, farmers market, children's museum, Chihuly exhibit near Space Needle). Locally we hiked a variety of trails with varying levels of difficulty and did white water rafting. Our family has so many fond memories and enjoyed both trips. Evening cocktails on the deck, throwing rocks in the river, burying your feet in the sand, grilling on the deck rain or shine, and eating outside whether its cold or hot. My son told me I could go back to Texas - he was living here!

Owner response: Thank you, Corey and Michael, for your wonderful review of our cabin. Bob and I are delighted that you once again found the cabin and its location perfect for your family vacation. We agree that the deck and beach are great places to relax, view the beautiful scenery, and watch the spectacular sunsets. We were happy to read about your scenic day trips, and we loved the cherries that you picked and brought back from Wenatchee. There is so much to enjoy in the Pacific Northwest that guests always run out of time before they run out of things to do. Guests like you make our business very rewarding. Please let Avery and Andrew know we will miss watching them playing on the beach and our wonderful morning conversations. Best wishes to you and your family! Bob and Jill
Wonderful weekend in paradise!
Wonderful weekend in paradise!
We had a fabulous weekend at the riverside cabin with our children! The location is totally amazing - like a little piece of heaven! We spent most of our time floating down the river on the kayak and tubes while the younger kids played on the sand and in the shallows. The cabin is really well equipped - lovely comfortable bedrooms and linen - and great kitchen for cooking dinners and having bbq's on the deck under the stars. The kids enjoyed running around in the garden and playing under the flag pole. They were so disappointed when we had to head back to Seattle. We will definitely return during the winter months to enjoy the close location to Stevens Pass. Thanks Bob and Jill for sharing this gorgeous place with us!

After a very stressful week, I needed to get away for the weekend, to just relax and enjoy the nature. After a friends recommendation, I called Jill and she was so easy and welcoming on the phone. She got me all set up. Upon arrival, the cabin was clean, welcoming, modern appliances and just plain amazing. I didn't want to leave. We woke up to the most wonderful view of the mountains and the river. The sandy beach was perfect for tanning and relaxing. Everything was set for us. There was a kayak and a lot of other entertainment options. The kitchen is set with everything you would ever need from a coffee maker to measuring cups. Bob and Jill were like family. Really welcoming, sweet and understanding. They made us all feel like home. I have been in hospitality business for over 12 years and I know what service is. This was by far the best experience I have had. They know customer service and what hospitality is all about. Thank you Bob and Jill (and family) we will be back for sure :)

Owner response: Thank you for your glowing review. Bob and I are delighted that you and your friends found the cabin, beach, and river to be perfect for your stay. We are happy to hear that you had a great time using the kayak and float tubes that we provided. There is nothing better than tube-sailing up the river on a beautiful summer day. It was also good to learn that the kitchen met your cooking needs, and we want to thank you for sharing some of your delicious dishes. It was so nice meeting you and your guests, and we look forward to welcoming you again to our cozy riverside retreat.
What a wonderful time we had at your cabin! It's a very nice cabin with a beautiful view of the river. We had so much fun Kayaking, swimming, and floating on the inner tubes. Great sandy beach to sit and relax with beautiful scenery all around. We had a great time roasting marshmellows under the stars and playing all of the games you have in the cabin. Eveything made for a wonderful family vacation. We're looking forward to going back during ski season. Thank you for everything Bob and Jill!
