Enjoy the best of Hilton Head paradise from our gracious Palmetto Dunes home, walk to the beach, and enjoy our unparalleled secluded setting. The property is located behind the north gate in the prestigious Mariners section on the widest part of the 11-mile Palmetto Dunes lagoon system and across from the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. You are but one fairway away from the ocean and pristine beach. The house is updated and open, all one level (hard to convey the great lay out by photo). Please see our reviews. And did we say views! The home has glass doors and windows from floor to ceiling across the back, classic yet comfortable, has quality features, not the typical three bedroom property. The re-decorated King and Queen suites are large with luxury bathrooms, large walk in tiled shower his & her sinks nice cabinetry and separate water closet, dressing area, and lots of built-ins. Wake in the morning to beautiful views from the master bed and all common rooms, just open the shutters and take in the morning sun. We take pride in ownership and want to maximize your experience so we support only groups of 6 guests or fewer.
There are 3 full baths total. The Queen suite has a walk-in closet and a large tiled bath with a lg. walk-in shower. Other features include vaulted ceilings with sky lights in living room(s) and kitchen- entertainment unit/whole house music system- mood lighting indoor and out. The Carolina gathering room with 2+ sofas brings the many outdoor features in, day or night. The eat-in kitchen shares a large pass-through opening with the dining room, exposing the kitchen to the deck, pool, and the waterfront. The expansive multi-level deck accommodates comfortable outdoor dining and lounging day or night. You will be pleasantly surprised with the open & central layout. The layout makes it difficult to capture the complete ambiance by photo alone.
Outside you can take in the spectacular waterfront and multiple fairway views from the expansive deck, private pool, large dock, and airy pergola. Inside the beautiful surroundings are never far away through a wall of glass doors across the back of the house - you can access the deck directly from the dining room, Carolina room, and master bedroom. The home's southern exposure, open design, and skylights bathe the home in natural light. You can easily enjoy the pristine views right from your bedroom!
You can walk to the beach in seven minutes or stay home and lounge by the pool. Any fishing fans in your family can catch fish and crabs from the dock or monitor their fishing poles and crab traps right from the pool while they watch the lagoon's majestic water fowl in action. Relax over the water on the large dock with a drink and a good book. Bike or walk down the quiet streets or on the fairways after hours and look out over the nearby ocean hole.
The master bedroom offers a new king-size bed and direct access to the deck, pool, and waterfront. The large comfortable living room adjoins the more leisurely Carolina room. Both are adjacent to the dining room and easily accessible to the kitchen. All bedrooms have a cable television and DVD player, the living room has a 55' LCD TV. The home also offers wireless high-speed (Wi-Fi) internet, central sound system, and a wet bar. Your stay includes the use of fishing poles, beach chairs, and beach toys as well as a selection of pool floats and toys. All upgraded and new linens and towels too.

While this is not our first trip to Hilton Head Island, it is our very first stay at this particular home. First impression- the view is incredible. Between the pool, lagoon, and golf course, we didn't know where to look first!! The beach was a short, picturesque walk away and the general store a brief bike ride. The General Store is a great place to go with kids to get them a treat... (our son wanted to add that fact :) We felt like we were in the perfect location- close to all the amenities but private enough to feel comfortable with our kids riding their bikes on their own. Very pleased with our stay- hoping to book again for next year!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We are a group of four that travel together frequently. This house was the best supplied of any we have rented. There was great attention to detail and communication with the owner was excellent. A wonderful view and a bright and airy sun room were highlights of our stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We have visited Hilton Head each spring and fall for the past 14 years and would rate this as the best all-round home that we have rented to date. The location, scenery and quality of the home combine to make this a very attractive place to stay. The cleanliness of homes that we rent is very important to us and we found this property to be both well kept and maintained. The owner has paid attention to detail and features such as the entertainment system and quality Weber grill helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen is very well equiped and all the appliances were in excellent working order. We loved having morning coffee and breakfast on the deck while watching the daily migration of a variety of waterfowl. A very private, quiet and scenic place to relax. The owner was very co-operative and easy to work with and we would highly recommend this home to both family and friends. We will be trying to rent this property again on our next visit to Hilton Head.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This home is located just on the most perfect spot on the island. The view is great and and it is just so close to the beach and in my opinion to three of the best golf courses on the island. This was my first visit to Hilton Head, my husband has been several times. He left finding accommodations up to me, and was very happy! When we discovered a small issue with the heating of the pool, communication with the owner and care taker was pleasant and efficient. They took care of us right away. The house is quiet and private. There were 6 of us on this trip and my infant. We had plenty of room. Even our 16 year old was impressed with the house and surroundings! Lots of comfy seating so we were able to spread out at night, which was very nice! The bedrooms were comfy and each bedroom had a bathroom, which was great! Everything was clean and well maintained. The back yard is simply beautiful. My husband would wake up early to go sit on the dock each morning. The pool was wonderful. The setting made it very hard to want to do any sightseeing! We all just wanted to lounge around this beautiful place! Highly recommend!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My family, friends, and I, have been vacationing on HH for the past 15 years. We have all fallen in love with Palmetto Dunes. This past fall, this well maintained house was just perfect for 6 of us. Morning coffee on the large deck was a great way to start the day. There are birds everywhere. They seem to fly from south to north, do a turn around in the lagoon in front of the house, and head south again. We were constantly entertained by osprey's, egrets, and little black ducks. The pool is in a great location between the house and the lagoon. The dock is ideal for sun-bathing - or for launchiing your canoe or kayak as you venture off to the explore the 11 mile lagoon. The beach is a mere 3 minute bike ride away. There are trees on both sides of the property, and you are not even aware of any neighbours. Our favourite spot in the house was the Carolina room - overlooking the pool, lagoon, and the golf course. Evenings on the dock are spectacular. This was a location and a house that I would recommend to any of my travelling friends. The owner was easy to communicate with (e-mails). There are 2 very good bikes at the house, and you have miles and miles to explore. We hope to go back again this fall.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

What an awesome house. Pictures do not do it justice! The house was unbelievably clean and well taken care of. It is very obvious that the owner takes great pride in keeping their home in top notch condition. This location is perfect for a family with kids of any age and also is a very romantic side for couples. My husband and I just loved sitting in the sun room looking out over the pool and lagoon. Teaching my 2 kids to fish for the first time there was wonderful. You will not go wrong renting this vacation home. We hope to rent again next year. We have been vacationing in Hilton Head for 10 years. This was our most enjoyable experience. The home is meticulously maintained and the owner was most responsive. The listing photos do give you a good sense of the property but can't quite capture the natural beauty of the setting. We spent most of our time around the pool or on the deck just gazing at the lagoon, the wildlife and the golf course. It is hard to imagine a better setting. The place is awesome!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this home last summer, on our second trip to Hilton Head. The home - both inside and out - is beautiful and comfortable. As we walked around the island, we realized that this must be the ideal location for the view... the wide lagoon and golf course beyond, plus the dock extends far into the lagoon, making you really feel like you're "out in the water". Very quiet also. Very responsive owner .. quick email communication. We take only one vacation each year, so for us to want to repeat this year at the same location says a lot!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

From the moment we traveled down the lush tree-lined streets of Palmetto Dunes and visited the pristine beach a few minutes away, my family and I were hooked. I purchased this home during my first visit to Hilton Head Island while staying at a home down the street.
The original plans were for an early retirement here. Life events have put off plans for retirement for awhile so we do a few family trips a year and make our home available to others in the interim. Many wonderful family memories have been made here. We look forward to helping you create more vacation memories of your own.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home is one of very few with such a perfect setting, the combination of lagoon frontage at a very broad point of the waterway, panoramic golf views (including a view down the length of the famous ocean hole on the Robert Trent Jones course), seclusion from the neighbors, and its proximity to the ocean (you can even hear the ocean at night). It has great access to “Bird Island” with the best views of the area’s famous waterfowl and it has the largest dock in all of PD – almost an “over-the-water” patio.
The location of our home is such that the beach is only a few minutes by foot, bike, or the free shuttle (Palmetto Dunes Buggy). In the opposite direction, a strip mall including a grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, and other shops are also only a few minutes away by foot or by bike. Some weeks I almost never use the car!
Favorite rituals include morning coffee while watching the mist rise from the lagoon at the start of another beautiful day followed by a jog around the neighborhood or beach; a morning bike ride on the beach on the way for coffee at the PD General Store; a mid-afternoon bike ride with the kids for an Icee; a dinner of fresh-caught crabs from the lagoon; a fishing contest with the kids; critiquing the frustrated golfers while enjoying deck-side, dock-side, or pool-side drinks; snacks and drinks at PD's Dunes House oceanside 'bar'; and of course visits to the beach – sometimes several per day.
A favorite breakfast location is Stacks – be sure to ask for Mick and to try the Crème Brulee French Toast. Favorite restaurants include Kurama, Hudson’s, the Oyster Factory, Aqua, and Alexander’s.
