Why the Owner Chose Christiansted

The Diving is awesome. Salt River is a great place and we just plain love St. Croix. Snorkelling from our beach is fantastic. Look for the beautiful spotted eagle ray! and Breezez has the greatest food and they are right nextdoor!

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

Snorkelling and walking the beach ... right outside the patio. I love waking up in the morning and looking out at the ocean while eating breakfast! That's life! Then go scuba-diving, snorkelling, or just lay on our beach and read a book! OH or go to the pool and relax... or go horseback riding.. what more can you aak for.

A
Christiansted Shopping and Tour the Fort

Constructed in the late 1700s of yellow brick, FortChristiansvaern is the best preserved of the five Danish forts remaining in the West Indies. The fort is a wonderful example of Danish colonial military architecture. Although built for defense against pirate and privateers as well as to ward off slave uprising, its cannons have never known warfare. The fort is built around a small courtyard and includes corner bastions and small dark dungeons. Originally used by the Danish Army the fort later served as a jail and also for religious services. The Fort is open weekdays 8am to 5 pm, weekends 9am to 5pm. Closed on Federal holidays. Admission is $2. The fort is well worth visiting and offers an interesting look at history in the islands

A perfect beach spot!

In January of 2012, my husband and I were lucky enough to be able to spend three fabulous weeks in St Croix. Watching the sunrise each morning while sitting on the condo's porch, coffee cups in hand, was spectacular. We took pictures of the sunrise each morning feeling it was too perfect to miss. Got home and looked at the pictures only to realize they were all stunning! We traveled around the island checking out many of the sites including the eastern most point of the U.S., the "Contessa's palace", traveling through the rain forest on the Mahogany Trail, the many beaches, the Sugar Plantation, the Cruzan Distillery, and so much more. We were very surprised to find so many fabulous restaurants and are sad to say that we left some untried - guess we will need to make a return trip:-) The location of the condo, the lovely furnishings, the spacious rooms, the water toys and all the other amenities made this a spot we would love to visit again. Being able to walk right out the door on the sandy beach and with just a few steps more be playing in the beautiful water of the Caribbean - perfection! Thank you Howard for giving us the opportunity to experience St Croix in the most lovely way.

Thanks for the note in the mail, we would definitely consider coming again and using your condo. We appreciated being able to communicate with you before we left, you were very helpful. One thing I forgot to compliment was the supply of beach toys. We used the snorkels and raft often. Don’t know if I mentioned it to you but I traveled to St. Croix often in the mid 80’s when I worked for the Navy. We had an underwater test range out by Ham’s Bluff and used those facilities out there that are now the property of the VI National Guard. Back when I was a younger man I scaled that hill out there up to the lighthouse. The view was fantastic. This trip was pretty nostalgic for me. Karin and kept talking about what we could do down there to make a little money and move. A pipe dream….

Heaven on the Beach

My husband and I vacationed with our dear friends at Howard's condo for a week. We wish we could have stayed longer. The accomodation was clean, convenient, and perfect for all four of us. We each had privacy. Aside from the actual condo, St. Croix is a beautiful island with something for everyone. None of us snorkled, but we kept busy with sightseeing, swimming, relaxing on the beach, and of course, shopping. The food and drink were just what we needed to top off a terrific vacation. If we get the opportunity to visit St. Croix again, we will definitely stay at Howard's condo. He's a great long-distance host. He made sure we were comfortable and not lacking for anything!! Thank you, Howard, for taking such good care of us!

Thank you for the use of your condo and all the advice you gave us to make our trip everything we thought it would be. We feel badly because we didn't fill out your guest book and we had some great suggestions for your future guests. Dinner on the terrace at the Buccaneer was very romantic and the sunset was beautiful. We had a fabulous time at Carambola beach resort for their Friday night buffet. Great food and a wonderful show (Mocko Jumbies and dancing). The scuba diving was out of this world (or in to the blue). Jenny was a very patient and great instructor. The highlight of the trip was our engagement.....on the sofa in your living room. Thanks again for everything you did to make our first trip to St. Croix very special. -- John, Cleveland, OH April 2009

We had a wonderful time. Your condo is very nice. It is beautifully decorated with all the dark whicker furniture and gorgeous area rugs. This was quite a change from the colorful whimsical units that we have rented in the past. We especially enjoyed the area rugs in the bedrooms and very comfortable lounges on the porch! I will send a few pictures later when Cathy gets them on the computer. Cathy’s first mission was to get to the grocery store and buy two bottles of Ponche Kuba, one for each week. (She wishes they sold it in Ohio!). We walked to Pueblo’s and then got a taxi home. I was surprised that they took credit card and gave me a senior discount. I then called all of our favorite restaurants and made reservations for each evening. We quickly settled into our daily routine: Up at 6:30 AM for a morning walk; breakfast and on the beach by 8:30 –9:00; nap, read, nap, read; take a swim in the sea before lunch; spend the afternoon by the pool, come back around 4; I enjoyed a nap on the porch and Cathy went back on the beach. Then we would shower and get ready for dinner as Big John, our taxi driver, picked us up at 6:15 each evening. Cathy was disappointed that Stix had closed as she loved their pizza. We miss the Top Hat and Tivoli Gardens. We had never been to the Buccaneer and so ate at the Terrace Restaurant one evening and at Bacchus for an early New Year’s Eve dinner for our two new restaurants in addition to our other favorites. We went into town to shop one day and were pleasantly surprised that all the buildings had been freshly painted. Everything looked so clean and neat. I hope the retailers start to pick up business as the Cruise lines start returning to the island in January. None of the resorts by Sugar Beach or Sugar Beach were as crowded as in years past. This will probably be our last Christmas visit as the air fares are out of sight, the condo was higher even with the return discount and the restaurant food was much higher and the stock market has done much damage! The first year that my husband, Bob, and I visited St. Croix we stayed at Grape Tree Best Western which is now the Divi. There was one traffic light on the island and we flew in on a small plane that sat you according to weight as the run ways were not long enough for the larger planes. Your condo is surely in a little piece of God’s paradise and we have been blessed to have enjoyed.

I just got back from vacation. Thanks for the card! We loved staying at your comfortable condo! We really liked that it was in proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. We are big into snorkeling so we could easily get to the east and west side of the island from Sugar Beach. I signed your guest book with my favorite snorkeling spots. The hike from Point Udall to Issac's bay was my favorite! Beautiful unspoiled splendor! The only thing I would suggest for your condo is a can opener with rubber handles. You have some ancient metal ones that aren't really useable any longer. Besides that we loved the pool scene and the gorgeous view with "pain killerz" in hand every afternoon! We'll be back! --
