This beautifully appointed home has THREE bedrooms (two are private suites with new private baths; master bath has six-jet spa tub and double sinks) plus another bedroom and bath. There is a fourth small room off the master suite with futon sleeping for children and Pack and Play plus changing table. This is a perfect place for multiple generations of families or one to three couples or some singles who want a special time together for special gatherings! The almost level-in entries and single story layout also help those who find stairs difficult with ramp entry on one side if needed.
For those coming with collector cars for special events, the there is an attached, two car garage with automatic opener.

Bird Watcher? Guests enjoy some 40 different species of birds from the decks (binoculars provided!) due to the "flyway" between the Pacific Ocean to the west and wilderness to the east. The backyard has been certified by the National Wildlife Federation. 1.5 miles from the major Monterey Bay Beach Park and a few more miles to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and The Wharf.
Two new private tennis courts (we provide the code entry for your use)and a golf driving range are less than 1/2 mile walk as well as a frog pond state preserve 1/4 mile away with an easy one-mile walk around it. See ducks, pond, from the viewing dock! All ages love the pond area, feeding ducks, and picking wild blackberries.

We have managed vacation rentals for others through agencies in the past and always dreamed of doing one with our own special touch for individual guests, which is what we enjoy doing now. We provide custom decorations for special occasions, fresh flowers, freshly baked coffee cake and 6 servings of complete breakfast items, many, many extras and only have this one home now....doing it "our way" for you. We have two books full of guest thank you notes and positive comments! Hooray!
Why the Owner Chose Monterey
Hacienda Serena has everything we wanted in a "dream" home: views of Monterey Bay plus Santa Cruz hills and Pacific Grove views to the west and of unlimited hills and mountains to the east for great sunrises and sunsets! It is a very sunny location but one can still see fog drifting in and out of the Bay and we love those views. It also has three "suites", each with its own bath, two bedrooms and bath separated by the living area from the third suite, perfect for privacy and visitors! Close to all the wonderful activities on Monterey Peninsula, walk to neighborhood private tennis courts, parks and frog preserve. Short 5 minute drive to Monterey Bay and beaches, wharf, Aquarium.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Views of the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay, special spa tub, privacy inside and out with lots of decking, beautiful yard and flowers, fountains, inside gas, easy care fireplaces and outside wood burning chiminea, lovely furnishings with great kitchen that is easy to work in due to being new and being fully furnished. Easy "flow" through the house for the people who stay and lots of privacy. All one floor, including level out to 1100 sf of decking and lots of outdoor furniture. We like to sit on the front veranda in the late afternoon with tea or coffee and bask in that special, warm late afternoon sun.

Our experience with the owners of Hacienda Serena was far beyond our expectations - and that was before we arrived. They are the greatest people to deal with - very accommodating and personable. One comment I would make regarding the description of the home on the VRBO website - "It does not do the home justice"! It far surpassed our expectations. When we arrived at the home we were amazed and pleased by the cleanliness and attention to detail the owners employ to make your experience truly memorable. During our stay my wife and I celebrated our birthdays and the owner had graciously baked an exquisite cake for the occasion - what a thoughtful touch. Also included for our convenience were the fixings for a great breakfast for our family. There is a piano in the living room which my wife played, entertaining us one evening. We spent one evening dining on the deck, looking out across Monterey Bay, enjoying the Blue Jays that came to visit and the family of quail that graced us with their presence. We spent our days exploring Monterey: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and of course the beaches, and Santa Cruz: The Boardwalk and Amusement Park, only to return "home" to a great shower and comfortable beds to recharge for yet another day of excitement and relaxation. We enjoyed dining at Bubba Gumps, Whaling Station, the Chart House, and Gilberts on the boardwalk in Santa Cruz - all with great food and service. We have truly found a "Home-Away-From-Home" in Hacienda Serena and look forward with anticipation to returning for even more exploration and R&R. We will unreservedly recommend this home to all our family and friends who wish to travel to Monterey. Thank you for making your home available and our vacation such an extraordinary and memorable experience. You made us feel like family and words alone cannot express our gratitude. "We Will Be Back".

Thank you for a lovely visit. We found your home to be welcoming and comfortable even for our large extended family of 5 adults and 3 children. We were easily able to access all of the places in the Monterey area (Aquarium, Point Lobos, Asilomar, Big Sur) that we'd hoped to see and then return to relax in the evening and enjoy close in adventures and fine dining in Monterey and nearby towns. Everyone was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our diverse personalities to spread out when we needed it. :) You made it easy to stay with lots of helpful information about the area and the house at our fingertips. Thank you!

Comfortable, Clean and Fun. Great location - few minutes to the Beach, Aquarium, Cannery Row, Farmer's Market. Three bathrooms were perfect for our party of 8. Well furnished. Lots of places to relax - inside and out. Plenty of character - every day we saw something new in the home. Toys for the grandkids. Quiet deck to sit outside, BBQ, watch birds and just enjoy getting together. Will definitely reserve again whenever we plan to stay in the Monterey-Carmel area.

From the homemade baked goods for breakfast to many thoughtful amenities, this home is truly a delight. Just walking in made me feel like family. Great master suite and each bedroom has it's own bath! Convenient to golf (Pebble Beach, etc.) and about half-way between the lovely downtowns of Carmel and Monterey. Plus a gorgeous drive up the coast to San Francisco. What a GREAT location!

Our family came from two ends from the State to meet here to spend the Christmas Holiday. The Hacienda was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the breakfast gave us that extra special touch for Christmas morning. The accommodations were just as described and the owners were quick to answer any questions we had. We're just hoping that we were good enough tenants to be able to come again so we can take better advantage of the activities and attractions in the area.

"We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay in your comfortable, immaculate, inviting home. We all slept well. Usually we go out for breakfast, but had an early tour of Lula's Chocolates, so your fabulous coffee cake, etc., made it so we could get there on time. A very pleasant experience that enhanced our girl's getaway on the Moterey Peninsula."
