Cozy Central Apartment Between Navona and Campo Dei Fiori

Year Purchased: 1994

Why the Owner Chose Navona

The apartment is in the same building than my home, so I can help my guests on every eventuality. You'll feel at home and you'll live in Rome as Romans do.
My family lives in this area since Julius Caesar's era. That's why I love and know very well my town.
One of the most valued features of the apartment is its location in the old district of Rome: it gets you away from the tourist crowds and right into a wonderful, Italian neighbourhood “Centro Storico”.
Address: Via Banchi Vecchi.
The apartment block is situated between the Vatican and Campo de’ Fiori, in the heart of historical and archaeological Rome.
The location of the apartment makes it easy to get to all the places of interest
(Piazza Navona, Castel S. Angelo, Colosseo… monuments and museums)
either by walking or by taking the convenient bus lines.
Well connected to all areas of Rome by public transportation (bus stops, taxi stands are so accessible).
The area is very safe.

St. Peter's Basilica

St. Peter's Basilica is not only the center of Roman Catholic Church but also a masterpiece of art reknowed all over the world.

E
Castel Sant'Angelo

A Roman mausoleum converted by the Pope into a fortress during the middle ages. It is now an interesting museum.

Owner's Map of Navona

I live in the same building where is the apartment I rent, on the third floor. Therefore I can help guests for any eventuality. With me just upstairs, you will feel visiting family.
I know my town very well as my old family lives in Rome since Julius Cesar time.
I made classical studies and I have a licence in Political Sciences. I have been an official at European Union Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
Then I became a teacher specializing in language teacher training.
I teach Italian and French (as a second language) to students and language teaching methods to language teachers. I have many years of experience in this field.

I organize for my guests:
- lessons (Italian & French for foreigners, cooking, painting, art)
- guided tours in Rome and outside Rome;
- pick-up from/to airports, from/to Civitavecchia port.

I speak French & English and I love art.

    • Thank you Mirella for all your help while my mother and I were visiting Rome. Your apartment is in a great neighborhood in easy walking distance to most of the sites. Plentiful restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, bakeries all close by. We also appreciate your recommendation of Anna Maria Gehle as a tour guide. Her very informative and interesting tours of the Vatican and the Colosseum and Roman Forum were the highlight of our trip. Best Regards, Lori

    • My husband and I stayed in Mirella's lovely apartment for our honeymoon in July. The location is perfect walking distance to everything you would want to see in Rome. The neighborhood is very safe, and the roof top garden is a great place to watch the sun set after a long day with a cold Peroni! Mirella is a fantastic host; I would stay here again on my next trip to Rome!

Dear Mirella, Pete & I say "Grazie Mille" and "Merci bien" for your hospitality. We very much appreciate your arranging our cab on our arrival night. And that you welcomed us with open arms when we arrived, due to our late plane, at 12:30 am! You were also so helpful with many things we needed during our stay... and always ready and willing to be of help. Our apartment was spacious and wonderfully quiet - a nice rest from the hub-bub that is Roma. We wish you Buona Fortuna e Arrivederci ! Sue & Pete CA USA

    • We stayed in Mirella's apartment in Sept 2009 for 3 days. Mirella was very welcoming and greeted us with a coffee. The apartment is in a great location, we walked to all the main sights. Our tour of the Vatican with Anna-Maria was excellent. We have already recommended this pace to friends.

    • We enjoyed our B&B stay at Mirella's apartment from October 16-19. Her website was very descriptive and informative and Mirella was very responsive to all of our email inquiries. Mirella's apartment was lovely, comfortable, and clean. It was also central to all the attractions that we wanted to see. Mirella went above and beyond providing us with excellent service such as maps and clear directions, recommendations and suggestions for sightseeing and meals, transportation arrangements when needed, warm outerwear when the weather was cold, and hot tea after long days of sightseeing. Mirella was up early, providing us with a hot breakfast, and stayed up late until we were settled in every night. She made us feel like family. We would highly recommend Mirella and her accomodations. If we return to Rome one day, we will definitely stay with Mirella. Thank you. Susan and Jon Lewis

    • We recently stayed in Mirella's apartment in Sept. 2009 for 3 days. Mirella was very kind to arrange pick up at the airport for us and also to our car rental upon leaving Rome. She was available for anything that we wanted and was very hospitable. The apartment itself, could not have been in a better location, within walking distances to everywhere. The apartment was clean and well-maintained. Our tour of the Vatican with Anna-Maria was definitely well received. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others, and look forward to one day returning to Rome and staying with Mirella.
