The apartment of 50 square meters (538 square feet) is spacious, clean, comfortable and nice.
It is on the first European floor above ground level (USA 2nd floor), with elevator.
It has an original beam ceiling (about 3 m. high).
Its windows overlook an interior courtyard, therefore it is very quiet,
warm in winter (self-regulated heating) and COOL in summer (with fans, no air conditioning).
Sleeps (maximum 4-5):
2 people queen bed (strong and comfortable) in the bedroom;
1 single bed in the entrance;
(1-2 single additional bed/s in the living-room).
The apartment is composed by:
- ENTRANCE with a single day bed, cupboard (please see vrbo photo 1); it opens on to the living room;
- LIVING ROOM with sofa, table & chairs, chest of drawers, TV; cupboard with dishes & glasses, iron, ironing board; (1-2 eventual additional beds); its French window opens on to a quiet tiny terrace in the courtyard; it is divided from the bedroom by a door (vrbo photos 2-7);

I made classical studies and I have a licence in Political Sciences. I have been an official at European Union Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
Then I became a teacher specializing in language teacher training.
I teach Italian and French (as a second language) to students and language teaching methods to language teachers. I have many years of experience in this field.
I organize for my guests:

This was a great apartment for three women friends. We were a little unsure how the set up would work for us, as we used the hallway bed, living room bed, and the bedroom. It was perfect. The set up provides some privacy and the beds were very comfortable. Washroom was great, with lots of hot water for three showers and kitchen, while small, had what we needed. Everything was very clean and tidy. The location is fantastic - walking distance to the Vatican, Campo dei Fiori, the Pantheon, etc. Mirella is a wonderful host, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We had an early arrival and were able to drop off our bags and continue with our day. Mirella also arranged our taxi to the airport and recommended a great coffee shop just a few doors down. I would absolutely stay here again!

Your confortable and clean apartment is perfectly located within walking distance to all sites, many of which you helped us to locate. It was so nice living in a neighborhood such as this. It is made for experiencing the real Rome, not an Ameicanized version. We truly loved it and hope to return ! Thanks also fo sharing Anna Lisa with us. Her tour of the Ancient Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum was unforgettable.She is an enjoyable and intelligent young woman. We would not hesitate to recommend her to your other visitors. We stayed for a week in Mirella's apartment in early November. The location was fantastic. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet (for Rome) with a lively local evening street scene. Restaurants, bars, shops and galleries are all within a few blocks and the more famous tourist type areas are all within walking distance. There is a Sunday organic food market in the piazza across the street where we picked up cheese and vegetables to stock the small but well equipped kitchen in the apartment. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable. It faces an inner courtyard so it is very quiet. The drawback to that is there is not a lot of natural light. We did not spend a lot of time inside during the day, so it was not a bother to us. Mirella is a lovely woman, generous with her time and knowledge. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Rome. Thank you Mirella!

The location of the appartment is fabulous and safe. You can walk or take the bus everywhere. There was a great wine bar across the street as well as a great little grocery with everything. Restaurants of all types and price ranges were just 5 min. walk away. Mirielle was a great host with lots of information. We were just 1 couple and we had plenty of space and even cooked 1 meal there. The place was super clean. The patio was just okay but the communal patio on the roof was fabulous and we never saw a soul. It was a great place for our 3 days in Rome.

Perfect location, easy walking to all major sites, safe and comfortable neighborhoods - day or evening. Owner, Mirella, is very helpful. Apartment well appointed and plenty of room. Kitchenette good for light meals, breakfast, and coffee (moka pot included). Many restaurants - small, large, formal, informal - within a short walk. Apartment Porch is nice for morning coffee, rooftop terrace is great for cityscape viewing, Recommend using BluCar, reserved by Mirella, to get from airport to apartment, especially after a long flight. Would stay here again.

Lovely flat in centuries-old building with modern amenities; Mirella, the owner, was very helpful and gracious. Many thoughtful touches throughout the flat, very clean and comfortable, including a great resource library for travellers. Great location for visitors, and a stunning roof terrace. Eravamo a Roma, in un appartamento Banchi Vecchi dal 28 settembre al 2 ottobre 2011. Piacevole, accogliente appartamento, che ha tutto il necessario. Ci sono tutte le piccole cose - anche un buon caffè, olio d'oliva, spezie, una mappa di Roma, il menu del ristorante, la cortesia della signora Mirella. Vicino l'appartamento c'è un supermercato, a 10-15 minuti a piedi alla destra del Vaticano c'è un mercato in cui una vasta selezione di frutta, verdura e pesce. La signora Mirella affascinante, pieno di fascino italiano. Speriamo di tornare al Banchi Vecchi. Grazie tante signora Mirella, saremo di Ritorno!

Mirella made our stay in Rome wonderful. The apartment has a great Italian feel and there was plenty of space for us to relax during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mirella's apartment. It is located near Campo de Fiori in a very charming old part of town near the bridge to the Vatican and another near Trastevere. It's quite an experience to share the streets with cars, scooters and people; in other words no sidewalks. There are two internet cafes down the street, one Barnum Cafe where wine and apertivo are served. Very nice bartenders. A small grocery store is very near as well and the apartment is across the narrow street from Vino Olio where you can try many different wines.We walked and walked all over Rome, be prepared with good shoes. Mirella's apartment is definitely a great location and she was extremely helpful. She arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and called for a taxi when we left. I heartily recommend staying at this apartment
