Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
I'm a self employed Information Technology Consultant, and as such, most of my work is Toronto Ontario. I also build custom homes on the side for fun and profit.
Why the Owner Chose Peterborough
I bought and built this property because I eventually want to retire there. The location is ideal, because I'm so close to Toronto, yet so "far away" - if you know what I mean. However, it seems I'm still very active in business and a long way from retirement at this point. And therefore I spend most of my time in Toronto. So I rent this property out for extra income when I'm not there.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
This property has the ability to instantly relax you and your loved ones upon arrival. That's why I gave it the tag line "Time To Exhale". There is something about its seclusion and tranquility that elicits an automatic relaxation response. Many of my guests, including a Holy Lady from India, have remarked on this unique characteristic.

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful retreat - what a gorgeous property, spacious and comfortable. We loved: the sunset, the view, the trampoline, the Russell Peters DVD, the kayak, the campfire, the kitchen, the relaxing atmosphere. We look forward to coming back again next year for our annual Labour Day gathering. And thanks for the wine!

From Trinidad, from South Africa, from Michigan and from Canada ... to the shores of the Buckhorn. Sunsets, loons, fishing, trampoline, family, and did I say fishing. An environment of peace and relaxation for us to come to experience. Great place and complete relaxation. Thank you.

To Owners and Caretakeres. Thank you for constructing such a beautiful home in the most beautiful location. It is truly blissful as well as peaceful. Whether it may be from standing on the deck during warm sunshine - or - standing by the shore as the sun sets colorfully behind the lake. It has been a wonderful experience. Thank you very much! Sincerely, MAA Family

What a wonderful weekend! We all came up to celebrate our parents (and grandparents) 40'th wedding anniversary. The cottage is perfectly laid out to accomodate our big family! We spent so much time outside enjoying the spectacular views! We are already talking about making this an annual event. The house is beautiful- who is the architect? Thanks again for a great weekend at Bliss On Buckhorn.

The house was perfect for our family reunion (people coming all the way from Shockholm, Alyer QC, and Markham.) Lots of space for all 8 adults and 4 little kids! We loved the outside space (daily visits from 4 pairs of Canada Geese parents and 17 goslings, a fox, groundhog, Great Blue Heron - a showcase of Canadian fauna!) Also trampoline was really popular. We really appreciated the DVD collection for rainy days and the pristine state of the house on our arrival. Riverview 300 was a hit in Peterborough on a rainy day, and we all loved the Kawartha scenery - hay fields, lakes, historic field fences. The fish were biting mostly Zack's line, our 6-year-old. We even fit in a baby shower! Thanks Michael for creating a spectacular setting - we benefited from your vision in creating the house and property. Wishing Buchkhorn and everyone a great summer! Hi Michael, Thank you for having created the perfect space for the particular needs of our group. It was the first time for the siblings to be together with everyone as parents and it went very well, thanks in large part to the spacious property, good fishing, lovely lake for boating outings, and well-equipped kitchen. Julie
