What a wonderful weekend! We all came up to celebrate our parents (and grandparents) 40'th wedding anniversary. The cottage is perfectly laid out to accomodate our big family! We spent so much time outside enjoying the spectacular views! We are already talking about making this an annual event. The house is beautiful- who is the architect? The house was perfect for our family reunion (people coming all the way from Shockholm, Alyer QC, and Markham.) Lots of space for all 8 adults and 4 little kids! We loved the outside space (daily visits from 4 pairs of Canada Geese parents and 17 goslings, a fox, groundhog, Great Blue Heron - a showcase of Canadian fauna!) Also trampoline was really popular. We really appreciated the DVD collection for rainy days and the pristine state of the house on our arrival. Riverview 300 was a hit in Peterborough on a rainy day, and we all loved the Kawartha scenery - hay fields, lakes, historic field fences. The fish were biting mostly Zack's line, our 6-year-old. We even fit in a baby shower! Thanks Michael for creating a spectacular setting - we benefited from your vision in creating the house and property. Wishing Buchkhorn and everyone a great summer! Your cottage was a great get-away we needed. Everything was exactly like last year and we felt "home" again. The cottage felt like a hotel but the patios made it feel like a true cottage - great for late night hang-outs. The fireplaces were an excellent addition to our movies. Thanks for the wine. P.S. A wonderful time was had by all. So many things for everyone to do and a beautiful home to relax in. Fishing, roasting marshmallows, playing on the swings and slide, jumping on the trampoline, making sand castles, canoeing, playing board games, watching movies, etc., etc., etc.! After 10 days here on Buckhorn Lake, the 16 of us are leaving with so many wonderful memories. We filled our days with fishing, boating, swinging, jumping and lots of eating! The grounds were beautiful, the house perfect for our special occasion - our Grandma's 85'th birthday celebration! With family and friends gathering together under one roof, we made our grandma's birhtday wish complete. Thank you for such an amazing vacation! We'll never forget it!

August 3, 2005. I really loved the fact that the cottage was nice and luxurious, but yet the outside looked perfect for a cottage. We slept in a tent by the campfire at night and enjoyed the cottage/camping feeling, but enjoyed bathing and eating inside during the day, where it felt like home. We got the best of both worlds.

We had a great time! The boat lift came in handy for some quick repairs. The fire was great and it was nice there was wood provided. Good sleeping arrangements. Did not have time to use the Jacuzzi due to the fact that we were on the water most of the time.

Thanks for the great time at your resort. We enjoyed the fishing from your dock. Boy, are those fish hungry! They'll eat anything from worms to bacon and ham! The kids enjoyed catching frogs. We had lots of weinnie-roasts at the rock pit. Some highlights of the trip in the region were gallery ON the Lake at Buckhorn, Ice Cream at Lakefield, Poutine and Onion Rings at the Chip Truck, Giant Tiger outside Lakefield, Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream in Lindsay. We'll miss the nice sunsets. See you next year!
