Each apartment is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen with all amenities and air-conditioning in all rooms. There is cable TV in all the apartments as well as internet access. There is secure parking on the compound and there is a pool 40ft by 20ft long. There are also BBQ facilities available for all guests.

About the owner: Monica and Harry built their family home in 1975, for themselves and their 3 children. It was back in the oil boom days of Trinidad and Harry being a manager was offered this sought after plot at a very attractive price.
In the late 1990's they decided that the home was too big for just them and so decided to turn their home into rentable apartments re-furbishing the attic for themselves, now known as the penthouse.
Together they suffered the refurbishment still living on the premises, as walls were knocked down, roofs were extended, bats flew through their home and rain wet them in their beds.
In the end the results have been this magnificent trio of apartments in the style of their own home.
Harry and Monica add to the attraction of The Sand Dollar. Guests often refer to them as friends and return bearing gifts to this delightful couple.
Why the Owner Chose La Romaine on the Gulf: There are many rentable properties in Mayaro, however very few that have the owners living on the premises. Mayaro has a reputation as beachfront property, exposed to sea blast and uncared for. With this reputation guests often abuse rentals , by squeezing in extra people, pilfering equipment and leaving the properties in an undesirable state.
Here at Harry and Monica's place there is a standard that is clearly upheld and despite the privacy that all guests are offered there is still the sense of visiting this couples home and therefore the apartments tend to be looked after and cared for.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: Sand Sucker Rd is still under the watchful eyes of BPTT guards. They regularly do night patrols of this road and The Sand Dollar is the first property that they come to. The guards are therefore very protective of this property as well.
