Live the dream in your own Venetian apartment, conveniently located away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist track in Castello, La Serenissima’s most authentic neighborhood. You'll get a taste of the real Venice while enjoying a can’t-miss location.
The apartment is one building back from the Riva dei Sette Martiri, a wide, sunny walkway that runs along the waterfront all the way to St. Mark’s Square, just a 10 minute walk from your door, and there's no getting lost in the Venetian labyrinth along the way. It's a short, picturesque walk to Venice’s major sights, as well as some of the city’s lesser-known charms. It's convenient to both the Arsenale and Giardini vaporetto stops.
Our light-filled apartment has high ceilings, with an open kitchen and living room area, one large "matrimoniale" bedroom, a small room that doubles as an office or as a single bedroom, and a loft office area, accessed by a small spiral staircase. The living room couch also folds out into a comfortable double bed, so the apartment can sleep up to five people - handy when you have an out-of-town guest for a night or two. There is one bathroom with a shower over the tub.
The top-floor flat boasts lovely views. From the living room, you can see across the lagoon all the way to the Lido, while the office/twin room and bathroom overlook a quiet park next door, plus a panoramic neighborhood view. You're sure to snap endless photos of boats plying the waters by the belltower and cathedral on San Giorgio Maggiore as well as the glimpse of Santa Maria della Salute, visible from the bedroom and the loft. Incredible sunsets bathe the romantic bedroom in golden light in the evenings. The apartment is on the fourth floor; the stunning views and fresh breezes are your reward for the 58 steps to your front door.
The kitchen is fully equipped for the cook, with a four-burner stove, large refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and even a dishwasher. Everything you need to prepare meals is at hand, once you're done shopping for fresh fish and produce, either at the famous Rialto market or the local markets on nearby Via Garibaldi, where you'll find all the local shops and services you need.
The apartment is cozy and bright, and we've taken care to make sure it has everything you need for a perfect stay in Venice. There's a small library including guidebooks to Venice for when you want to curl up with a good book. There are several pairs of rubber boots for those pesky high tides, and a small wheeled shopping so you can shop like a local. And yes, there is high-speed wifi in the apartment (though you need to bring your own computer), a telephone, and even an Italian cellular phone you can use.
Be careful when comparison shopping: Many rentals tack on mandatory surcharges such as expensive cleaning fees, charge you for heating and electricity you consume, or raise prices during high season. We don't.
There is no Saturday-to-Saturday stay requirement. We are happy to arrange longer or shorter stays, though we have a three-night minimum stay requirement.
