Casa Mariposa (butterfly house) is a luxurious four bedroom, four bath, private villa, located on the water in Puerto Aventuras, a quaint exclusive community. Casa Mariposa is one of the few ocean-front private properties in the area. Newly Renovated, Fall 2008... painted by a local famous artist, new linens, pool deck & tile & upgrated appliances!

We open up our home and invite you to a relaxing and rejuvenating stay while you enjoy the beauty of the enchanted Mayan Riviera. Casa Mariposa overlooks the sparkling azure waters that offer a reef full of tropical fish. Dive, snorkel, or even cast a fishing rod within steps of the villa. Cool off and refresh in one of our pools (both fresh and salt). We have many activities and suggestions to take part in. Our Villa is kid friendly, don't worry about entertaining the children....Casa Mariposa is full of kid friendly fun.

We are family owned/operated villa, that has been recently renovated and decorated with an eclectic mix of Indonesian furniture, 17th century antiques, custom furnishings in rattan and bamboo, lush gardens, fine linens and modern appliances in our immaculate kept home.

  • Air Conditioning: Individual custom climate controls in every room of the villa.
  • Washer: Laundry service is not available for guest’s use. If you wish to have clothing laundered the maid will be willing to do for a fee. Please consult with the maid or house manager about details.

  • Linens Provided: Five Star mattresses in every suite. The finenest linens one could ask for: high thread count luxury sheets, numerous quality pillows, allergy-free down comforters, modern comforters, and also dust/allergy covers on all of the mattresses. (Let's just say... the owner is very finicky about her bedding.)

  • King Bed (3) : All four suites have large King Size beds (one of the suites can be made into 2 if need be)
  • Twin/Single Bed (2) : These twin beds can be conveted into a King if needed that would make it a total of 4 Kings.
  • Convertible Bed: One of the sofas in the extended suite can be used to reach 10 occupants.
  • Crib (3) : 2 cribs and a pack & play.

  • Cable/Satellite TV: There is an enormouse television in the spacious family room that has Satallite television. You won't miss a thing from home.

  • Private Pool (2) : We have both fresh and saltwater pools to enjoy. The freshwater pool is a beautifully dark blue tiled two level pool. This is great for small children. The saltwater pool is fed by the ocean, it is a warm, relaxing lagoon. Take your mask and look at all the little fish and shells within.

  • Full Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one would need, it's just like cooking at home. A 5 gallon water cooler is full of fresh drinking water for you at all times. We even have a espresso/cappucino machine.
  • Cooking Utensils Provided: The kitchen is stocked with all of the utensils one would need to prepare a feast. Mexican hand-painted platters, a full set of plates, bowls etc (both ceramic and plastic for lounging poolside), wine glasses and whatever else you can imagine.

  • Catering Available: We have a hanful of talented personal chefs that will tailor any needs and palate. *There are additional charges for this service.
• Outdoor Features
  • Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: A full size gas grill with all the utensils needed to grill that fresh fish you caught today.
  • Deck/Patio: The whole backside of the Villa is a deck. There's outside seating for 10. There are also 4 sunbathing lounge chairs that face the waters edge.
  • Balcony (3) : The suite facing the garden has a perfect little balcony with a lovely seat for two in the lush greenery. We also have two indoor "sitting areas" that are attatched to the two 2nd floor suites. Large sofas and chairs face the ocean viewed through huge opening windows. This is a great spot for reading and meditation.
• View/Location
  • Oceanfront: Casa Mariposa is within 50 ft of the waters edge. Stairs lead down to the coral-rock beach. Tidepools are filled with little fish and seacreatures that have made them their little home. Shells that have washed up and sunbathing iguanas reside here. Walk out into the ocean and you will find some fabulous snorkeling and diving. One of the best spots in Puerto is just a swim away from the shore. You will know where it is because often there are little boats anchored on the spot. Bring your fishing gear and wade out into the water. The water is the clearest blue and is so inviting. White sandy beach is only 5 minutes away.

  • Kid Friendly: The swimming pool was designed for the ease of parents. Having two levels makes it perfect for the little ones to play safely. The Villa also has childrens DVDs and toys to keep them busy.

  • Just a word of advice to everyone thinking about renting in Puerto Aventuras. Jane & I have been continuously year after year vacationing in Puerto Aventuras. We have stayed in villas, condos and hotels. Casa Mariposa was remarkably finer then anywhere we have saved. They are ahead of the game! See you again next year Casa Mariposa!

  • What a beautiful villa! The decor is stunning, the fixtures and furnishings far surpass any villa we have stayed in around this area. We have been coming to Mexico for over 10 years now. A real advantage of your villa is the two equally impressive Master Suites. It's a very nice feature when a group is sharing the costs equally. And the patio was beautiful with the high seas and whitecaps! Your villa is definitely my favorite and will return again next year.

  • My family and I stayed at Casa Mariposa for 2 weeks. We never travelled to Mexcio before and were curious to what the area and villa had to offer. To say the least our vacation was grande. We relaxed in this breathtaking home and enjoyed the pools and ocean right out back. In South Africa there are tons of sharks in some areas, so we are always cautioned while swimming. Here there was no worry. The water is as clear as a glass and is full of tropical fish and sealife. My two kids did not want to return home. We took part in many activities that the owners listed (thank you Kathy! for that) cenotes, mayan ruins, horseback riding were all so much fun for us. The restaraunts that they reccomended as well were fantastic. There is so much depth and beauty to the Meaxican/Mayan culture. Lastly we have travelled all over the world and I can honestly say this is one of our favorites. You will surely see us back in the near future. Thank You Casa Mariposa! Julian
