Plumeria Moon is a wonderful cottage on a completely private property overlooking the ocean on Kauai's spectacular North Shore. The home has delighted a very long list of couples celebrating their honeymoon dream of a secluded tropical hideaway in paradise.
Plumeria Moon is very tastefully built with an open Hawaiian style and creative architectural features that take advantage of the amazing ocean view and tropical climate. There are three angled walls with large windows on the side of the cottage that face the ocean which enhance the ocean view and open up the interior space to the tropical surroundings. A well-vented copula roof design opens up the interior space to more light and takes advantage of the tropical breezes. If it gets too warm there is also air-conditioning.
Plumeria Moon guests enjoy their own Hot Tub with ocean view as well as a luxurious outdoor shower with ocean view (yes, there is a full tile & glass indoor shower too!) There is a beautiful tile lanai for watching whales and albatross while dining or relaxing outdoors. There are no other homes or roads within sight or sound of the cottage and the lush landscaping is alive with colorful flowers and tropical birds.

Why the Owner Chose Kilauea
This is a special area of Kauai. It is on the gorgeous North Shore yet has easy access to the East Shore and the multitude of beaches in the area. This location enjoys a dryer climate than most of the North Shore so often we can brag about sunshine while rejuvenating showers fall on areas closer to the interior mountains.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This property has a magic feeling that has affected guests in a peaceful way ever since I started welcoming guests here in 2000. The views are pristine and the wildlife is inspiring. Its hard to find places as peaceful and private as Kauai Vacation Hideaway. Its why we have so many return guests.
Excellent beach for snorkeling and swimming. Plus, great open field for playing ball or throwing the Frisbee.
Cool, freshwater stream feeds this beach. Great sand and good beach for surfing.
One of the Kauai locals' favorite beaches. Lots of sun and sand and big ocean views.
Watch the waves crash into the rock outcropping and swim out of the fresh water stream into the bay.
Excellent for pastries and coffee in the mornings plus excellent carry-out pizza for the evenings.
Take our private path down to Pila'a Beach, our secluded white sands paradise with huge crashing surf in the winter, whales in the spring, and cozy swimming holes in the summer.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here for our 34th anniversary. The setting and location is great and the cottage is very private. It is well maintained and clean. In spite of tearing my meniscus a few days before our vacation, we still mangaged the trail down to the beach three times during our week there and saw a total of 2 people on our 3 times there - even had a picnic dinner on the beach one night. The cottage is well equipped and we cooked most of our meals there, although there were a few minor issues with the design of the kitchen. There is almost no counter space since it is covered byt the microwave and toaster oven and the cooktop is partially under the cabinets, which makes it more difficult to use. But these are really minor inconveniences compared to the overall character, comfort and privacy of the cottage. We will definitely be back!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Words or photos cannot describe this slice of Eden on Kauai. Wonderful views, a deserted beautiful beach, shower outdoors with the birds and fragrant flowers, soak under the infinite stars--this is a perfectly appointed bungalow--it cannot get better than this for your honeymoon or anniversary with your lover. The north shore is quiet and rugged, but the drive south is an easy day trip if you want to tour the southern island sights or do a boat tour, etc. (Pick up your groceries when you leave the airport.) The hosts are wonderful--they leave you total privacy unless you ask for their knowledgeable assistance. We only stayed for 4 nights which was too short. We had already made reservations to move to the southern part of the island for the last 3 days to be closer to "the action" but we wish we had just stayed in paradise at Plumeria Moon.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway.
