What a fabulous place for our group of friends to celebrate the start of 2013! We loved the ocean views, the sky chair, the proximity to both Cannon Beach and Mazanita, and of course, wandering the rocky shore. Thank you for providing such a clean, welcoming space and for all the thoughtful amenities from books and board games to the amazing telescope, which made us happy and cozy when at the house. We hope to return again in the future!

The home was clean, spacious and wonderfully located. John was an excellent host who made sure we had all the information we needed to have to be comfortable and enjoy our time there. The kitchen was a wonderful space to cook a big meal in. I highly recommend using this space for any kind of getaway.

Hate to leave and return home. Wonderful weekend with son and his new bride and her mom. Pickup sticks by a roaring fire inside while watching the rain out side, The Stormy Weather Arts Festival lived up to its name. It was terrific -- thanks for having us all!

This lovely home overlooking the secluded Cove Beach was comfortably appointed and a good jump-off for our adventures surfing, hiking and sight-seeing on the northern Oregon Coast. A minus low tide provided some of the best tide-pooling we've encountered in the northwest, and a small swell with low winds allowed us to surf our own private break. We were able to climb through the famed "arch cape" for a quick peek at the northern side of town: (The owner's instructions are quite clear on how to read the tide tables for safe and careful beach walking at low tide only.) We were all able-bodied and able to negotiate the spiral stairs, angled walls and rocky beach access without incident, but potential rentors should head the owners' recommendations that persons with limited mobility could be frustrated by this property and location. We enjoyed the lovely yard for frisbee and blackberry picking and found the barbeque and fireplace nice and unusually easy to use for a rental. The house is just a few miles from the Cape Falcon trailhead, Short Sands surf break and vistas from Neahkanie mountain--all our favorites! We also made a quick day trip to Fort Clatsop and Astoria after a quick surf at Indian Beach in Ecola State Park--another premium spot on the Oregon Coast. The lovely online tour of this property was an accurate predictor of the fun and lovely time we would have at Cove Cottage!

This vacation has been full of beautiful views of seagulls hummingbirds and orca whales! We thoroughly enjoyed the various ways the couches and swinging chair offer the perfect perches to enjoy all of it. Thanks for a beautiful time!

We had a wonderful time at the Cove Cottage! The location is excellent, on its own quiet beach, but near bigger towns and abundant hiking. The open layout and panoramic windows afforded stunning views of lush hillsides as well as ocean waves. We saw bald eagles and Orca whales from the deck, enhanced by cottage's the top-quality telescope. The owners were very easy to work with, and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely return here. The spiral staircase is a little tricky and the head height in the upstairs loft requires some navigation, but these concerns were minor overall.

Egg hunt for three-year-old grandson. Beautiful day! Went to Astoria and climbed the tower and visited the Maritime Museum. Helicopter ride over Seaside. Visit to Tillamook cheese factory and air museum. Also, Haystack rock for puffin watching. We had a wonderful vacation! Thank you very much!

The peace and quiet and beautiful vistas were just what we needed. Family time, movies, rain, wave-watching, a crackling fire and games helped us in our journey toward healing. Although we've never been here to Cove Cottage before, it is already our new favorite, and we hope to return soon. What a peaceful, healing, and absolutely lovely get away! My husband and I came here to relax and celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. Of all of our run-away-from-home trips to the coast, this has been our favorite and often preferred to snuggle in here and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean from the comfort of this hideaway to going elsewhere. I think your place is put together with lots of good thoughts. It is simple yet sophisticated, it meets all my needs without unnecessary clutter. It has high tech as well as handmade little décor. Every time we came in from outside, my kids disappeared into their bedroom reading, they really like the cozy bedroom.

Me and my three kids had such a great time! I have never had a vacation where I actually felt relaxed and it happend here! The view of the ocean were awesome and the house was perfect. Everyone loved the sky chair even to the point where there were arguments of who got to sit in it next. Maybe you should put another one in! We were very fortunate and had great weather 4 out of 6 days. Hopefully we will be able to take another vacation here soon. Thank you for everything!

our family of 2 adults and 2 boys ages 12 and 10 really loved this home! It has breathtaking views and was so welcoming on our arrival. Everything was so organized and clean and easy to locate. The neighborhood is beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the drive thru the forest to reach the house and had fun being greeted by Sampson, the friendly neighborhood schnauzer:) The location is great to explore cannon beach, tillamook and seaside and even astoria.. lots of starfish and anemones to find at low tide..loved the fireplace on rainy nights tool. We will definintley return and recommend highly to all!

My family of four (+Grandma) spent a week at Cove Cottage and absolutely loved the location. We were close enough to Cannon Beach/Manzanita for an easy drive, but away from the hustle when we wanted to relax. Cove Cottage has stunning views, a short trip to the beach, and wildlife all around. There were eagles in view much of the time, and the spotting scope in the living room added to the excitement. The house itself is very accomodating (& we loved the architecture, especially the huge, open living area) - we had everything we needed for a week at the beach. The Sky Chair got a lot of use. I would highly recommend this place for your next Oregon Coast getaway - I hope your visit is as special as ours!

Our family of 4 boys thoroughly enjoyed all of the outdoor activities and the pure relaxation. Mom and Dad enjoyed all the great places to eat as well. Dear Cove Cottage, We love this place! We had an amazing four days in your house! The views were beautiful! We loved the sky chair and the moveable couches. The beds were so COMFY! We had yummy meals and a lot of great family time. We went to Manzanita, Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Tillamook. We absolutely loved Bella Espresso in Cannon Beach! Love, Love, Love this place! A real crackling fire and two days of mostly sunshine. Seaside was fun and Manzanita Beach was beautiful. My husband and I liked to go sit on the logs down at the beach here and watch the ocean.

I haev stayed in numerous VRBO rentals over the year and this is perhaps the most thoughtfully laid out and welcoming of them all. From the helpful welcome book to the well-stocked kitchen to the efficient and reassuring registration system, every detail is covered with care. And the home is perfectly situated between Cannon Beach and Manzanita, with the bonus of a private beach right outside the door.

The clouds don't dot the sky anywhere better than the Oregon Coast. Even when the day has been cloudless, mother nature brings her art to canvass the most amazing scapes around the sunset, with cloud art that rivals the ocean waves and beach rocks. This getaway fed our needs to be both epic in our laziness and relaxation and enjoy the wonders of the coast. Great kitchen, location, home. Usually the spouse spends a bunch of time saying what he'd do differently if this was his house. This time, we just talked about other things, and how great this place is.

Wonderful time with an awesome view -- relaxing 2 days. We found a number of sand dollars and had fun hunting for sea glass along the rocks -- leaving but wishing we could stay for a month. Thank you for having everything so tidy & clean!

A few of our favorite things: Emma, 4.5 yrs old - "looking for starfish & crabs & being in the tidepool. I love being on our vacation. Can we go again someday?" Jen 38 yr - staring out the window at the magnificent view while sitting in the sky chair, reading my book or doing nothing & thinking of nothing. The best place we've ever stayed! Also loved running on the beach (low tide). Dave almost 38 yr - exploring the tidepools, just sitting watching the waves, looking through the spotting scope & spending time with my girls.

The Chinese yo yo was grand! It was hard at first, but got easier the more you practiced! The maritime museum was fun in Astoria! Walking down the path felt like a jungle going to the beach! We made tinfoil dinners on the beach in a huge fire! We loved the fireplace it made it nice and cozy! I found a great book called Dragonology that was fun to read in the sky chair! We were here for the 4th of July and watching the fireworks over the ocean was amazing!
