What an amazing stay in Cove Cottage! The thought you put into making the cottage a home made us feel comfortable and welcome. We loved roasting marshmallows in the fireplace and making s'mores. Grilling out and taking in the breathtaking view everyday was a highlight of our stay. We watched spectacular sunsets every night. I can't imagine a place more beautiful. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We love the view from the family room! We enjoyed two beautiful colorful sunsets as well as fascinating waves. We thought we saw 2 bald eagles flying up at the top of the mountain one rainy day. We had fun watching the orange hummingbird that hangs around the yard. The deck was wonderful for the couple of sunny afternoons! We were lucky to be here during the lowest tides so were able to walk the beaches and go tide-pooling. We saw a sea lion on Haystack Rock and learned from the naturalists. We bought cheeses and freshly made bread at the Cannon Beach farmer's market on Tuesday. The coffee beans from the Sleepy Monk and coffee cake were great. We bought a kite and flew it from Cannon Beach. We ate at Moe's and people- and dog-watched. We enjoyed every state park, Seaside, Manzanita, Nehalem, Tillamook, and Portland from here.

Happy Easter! Of course the weather is nicest on the day we have to depart. Our weekend was one of the rainiest in a long time. We stayed snug in the house with a nice fire, great view of the storm, good food and great friends. What more could we ask for?

We spent and celebrated a wonderful early Christmas here. We laughed, ate, walked, ran, saw the sun, some some hail; and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We met both a herd of elk and heard and met Sampson. We were mesmerized by the view and loved to hear the ocean's song. it has been a joyous and memorable family early Christmas.

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful stay at Cove Cottage. This was our first visit to the Oregon Coast and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was spectacular - something we weren't expecting - so most of our time was spent outdoors with walks (runs) on the beach, strolling around Cannon Beach, a hike to the top of Neahkahnie Mountain, and a sidetrip to Astoria and Fort Clatsop. Even if the weather had kept us indoors, the mesmerizing views of the ocean would have been well worth the trip. We hope to be back soon - next time for a longer stay.

Thank you once again for the wonderful memories! The weather has been perfect. We spent time with our fastly growing boys - building an incredible sand castle on Hug Beach, watching the pelicans, hiking at the park, browsing Cannon Beach. My husband, my nine yr old son, my five yr old son, and myself came here with my dad for our annual trip to the Oregon Coast. My dad's childhood buddy from Detroit flew to Portland + they met us here. they have been friends since grade school and are now in their sixties. We enjoyed walks on the beach, hikes in the woods, and driving up to Astoria, Seaside, and Cannon Beach. The weather was beautiful up to our last day. It was an eerie fog looming over the beaches, but we went anyway + enjoyed the sand. we also took the boys to Ft. Clatsop - as I am very interested in history (which is why I teach this subject). We all managed to get along pretty well without any major disputes The boys absolutely loved the couches and the neighbor's dog.

What a wonderfu week we had here. The house is a perfect place; cozy and with an incredible view. We enjoyued the beach and tide pools when the tide was out. Thanks to earler entries, we learned about Sampson, who was waiting for us soon after we arrived. He was welcome company on the deck and when we walked around. There was so much to do in the area too. We will have to come back and see more. Thanks for having such a great place!

We loved it here, we had a great time hiking, playing on the beach and enjoying the amazing view from the deck! We loved our surroundings including the cute dog next door. Also we had a bucket of goddies which was a wonderful treat. This was such a nice getaway and we can't wait to come back. Thank you for everything! We also enjoyed using the telescope and we saw 5 adult and 2 baby elk on our walk. I love the spiral staircase, it was super fun, also the couches are neat-o!

7/6/09 Thank you for sharing your home! we had a delightful time relaxing, reconnecting & playig. The tidal pools are awesome -- so many creatures! The hikes have been gorgeous. We've loved walking along the beach + watching the breathtaking sunset. We hope to be back someday.

What a great get-away we had this week. All the comforts of home and yet having the view and beach access made it the perfect place to spend our acation. looking for sand dollars was such fun and we enjoyed the tidal pools. You have he perfect spot here and we can't wait to come back. thank you for everything.

We had so much fun. On one beach (which is the one out the window) it had sea anemonees, starfish, baby mussels, and barnacles. At the other beach I went way out in the sea. I stood up against some big waves. I got soaked. PS: i love the telescope.

When we arrifed there was a bunny hopping around the yard and humming birds flitting about. Great first impression! then we go through the house - wow . everything is so clean and nice. then the view hits you. you go upstairs and the bedrooms are so cute. what a great collection of books. the welcome basket was a really nice touch. thank you Smores - yummy. we had fires in the fire place at night. while we were here we tried to eat mostly foods from Oregon. we had crabs, fish, wines and local beers. our cheese, ice cream, butter and cream for our coffee were from the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Your well appointed kirchen was great for cooking. we also had grilled fish and fresh corn on the cob. in the evenings we had fresh ground coffee on the deck and watched the sun go down. our new best friend, Sampson, visited us everyday for cheese curds. We just loved him. Such a polite little dog. we liked spoiling him. One morning seals swam by while we were on the beach. we were just in awe of the tidal pools and arch down the beach - so many starfish. it's been ust an awesome stay here. part of me wants to keep this place a secret - but you just can't wait to tell everyone. we will be back. thank you so much for this experience.

We had a fabulous get away here at Cove Cottage! The first time we/ve ever stayed in Arch Cape. The weather was sunny which helped with our outdoor adventures of agate hunting north of Ocean Side, beachcombing up to Arch Cape, surfing at Short Sands & hiking the Falcon Cove Trail. We enjoyed watching a Rufous hummingbird (thanks to the spotting scope!) whose territory is the Cove Cottage grounds. We also had successful salamander catching. We watched all three installments of "Pirates of the Carribbean", enjoyed reading about Arch Cape history and finished our novels we brought from home. Thank you for sharing this beautiful spot - We are rested and refreshed!

We had a wonderful stay at cove cottage for our annual sisters weekend. This is our 1st time staying in Arch Cape and it was excellent! We relaxed, played games, visited Tillamook cheesefactory, toured Cannon Beach and of course ate + drank a lot. We will definitely come back next year. Thank you!

This was our annual gang weekend: Pearl, Laurelwood, Pont, Mary & baby Lucy. We celebrated Pont's 31st birthday, made collages, went on walks, ate lots of food, drank wine & enjoyed good conversation & relaxation. We had beautiful weather this time & as always enjoyed the amazing view. The highlight was lunch on the deck, enjoying the sunshine. we hope to be back next year!

We arrived on Saturday, it was partly cloudy. This house is so beautiful. the view is amazing. This was our first valentines together after 8 months together. I have to say this is the most romantic place to be on valentines. In front of fireplace sharing drinks and company. We got lucky w/the weather. Saturday night it rained and the wind was whipping through the trees. Sunday was beautiful out. Monday, day of departure also beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your home w/us. We will be back soon for sure.

What a fantastic getaway! Loved the views, proximity to the beach, and all the comforts of home, and then some! Lucked out with the weather as it was beautiful! Enjoyed the telescope and book collection! Took a short drive to Arcadia Beach when the tide was out - much more peaceful than Haystack> thanks for opening your home to us! love it!

This is a wonderful Beach House. Rob and I enjoyed the peace and tranquility. We made friends with the big black dog who greeted us throughout our stay. We also made friends with a sea gull who came to be fed as well. We loved the comfortable beds, the fireplace, and the deck. The ocean views were beautiful. Such a peaceful place. Wonderful place to decompress and become renewed. We thank God for this wonderful blessing and are thankful you share your home with others. Warm memories, never to be forgotten... Sad to be packing up on this lovely sunny early September day. Happy thinking that we'll be back to share again with friends and family. Thank you for providing such a perfect getaway. We enjoyed your cabin so much. Our family of 6 loed being together in this beautiful place. Favorite things were... Julia (age 6): beach, skychair Mikayla (age 9): beach, few people to share the beach with, my new kite, skychair, bean bag, my own room and spiral stairs Lara (age 5): going to the beach, my room with Julia, spiral stairs, celebrating my birthday here. Karissa (age 1 1/2): the "a-wa" (water) at the beach, sky chair, new kite Daddy Mike: all of it, Mo's chowder Mommy Beth: sunsets, seeing lots of pelicans take off in flight from the beach, seeing my daughter's joy as they flew new kites. My family enjoyed the peace and quiet of Oregon. The weather was brisk and windy, but no rain. We did have a day of fog. We had many visitors including Samson (dog from down the street), Johnathon (seagull that arrived hungry for popcorn morning and evening), and two brown bunny rabbits. Kids found many interesting things on beach during low tide. We drove to Costco near Astoria and the Tillamook cheese Factory. The place was great for sampling cheeses, ice cream and fudge. The tour was free and very informative. The days were long from sunrise at 6:00 am to sunset at 9:45 pm. I especially liked watching the birds swoop around the cape area. The beach access was difficult due to rocks, but a wonderful stretch of sandy beach can be found 8 miles south in Manzanita. Have fun! P.S. My brother enjoyed the wi-fi computer connection to check his stocks. My nieces loved the movie selection and cable TV.

What a precious four days we have spend as a family - the last time we will be together for a log while, as our youngest is leaving for the Air Force in a few short weeks. So we came to our favorite place to store up some wonderful memories. We hiked Hug Cove's old beach road, explored beach caves, watched our boys skim boarding, ate peanut butter pie and other delicious stuff at Mo's and let time slow down. We couldn't have hoped to make better memories! Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of heaven.

What a wonderful Easter weekend! Just the right place to relax. Took the kids to Ecola State Park. What a beautiful place. We didn't see any whales, but wow! what a view. Got inspiration for my next painting. This house is perfect. We loved everything about it and will definitely be back. We loved the sky chair and plan on getting one of our own. Great place Cove Cottage. Hopefully will return again. Weather changes very quickly, like Michigan. Very relaxing this time of year. The elk family in Cannon Beach are great to watch, they own the town.

Wonderful stay to welcome in the New Year with family - lots of hiking in every sort of weather - brilliant blue sky and warm sun - rain - fog - hail - wind - calm - all changing every half hour. Hiked to Falcon Cape and saw half a dozen whales migrating south.

We, my mom, dad, brother and I, found your cottage cozy and comfy our entire stay. It was nice to have the beach only a walk away. Our favorite activities included relaxing in the awesome sky chair. The weather was Alt-mazing during our stay! It was sunny, not too cold and no rain! I love the view from the windows in the living room. Ocean, trees, blue sky all in one look. xoxo Thanks again!

You have it all here. What a view to welcome you each morning and lull you to sleep each night. Being from Kentucky, which is a beautiful state, there is no comparison to the majesty we have seen throughout Oregon and Washington. Weekend at Cove Cottage The sun is setting, the day has gone by Leaving majestic colors all over the sky As the world darkens, stars slowly appear Sounds of the waves seeming even more near Shadows by moonlight cast on a lonesome rock Waiting patiently, like a statue it mock Until tomorrow when the sun comes again Greeting us with the fresh morning dew. A new day begins. On a more down to earth note, the kitchen has everything we need, even a coffee bean grinder! Fragrant and freshly ground cup of coffee makes for great enjoyment out on the deck watching the island slowly reappear from the morning fog.

First night spotted whales on horizon and breaching at arch cape rock. One evening enjoyed watching a dozen elk go down to the water pond area and back up the tree line to the safety of the forest. The home is all anyone could wish for in a retreat! The deck is so spacious as is all the living area! We searched owners website and he is living by his word. We appreciated all of the restored and recycled wood furnishing! We will be back. Our grand daughter loved the wildlife adventure! Thank you!

We (four sisters) were charmed by your stretch of Oregon coast -- new to us. We had a great time on the Falcon Point trail, even in the rain, and we could have spend days in lovely, quiet Wheeler.

We had a fantastic 4th of July week here at Cove Cottage. We love the house, the deck, the view and the area. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house. The neighbors had a wonderful fireworks display - we had no need to leave! Our kids loved the tide pools and collecting sand dollars on the beach. We love the quiet, peace and beauty of this area.
