    • We stayed at the Marlin house March of 2008, and LOVED it. We were looking for a secluded place, off the beaten path, and it was perfect. With a lot of sight seeing to do, it offered a location just as good as any other, but quiet at night. We hope to go back this March with two of our six children!

    • We loved the Marlin House. A very well built house in a beautiful jungle-like setting, large lanai with hammock. This home is situated at around 1600 feet and was cool at night and a perfect temperature during the day. We loved the drive to Kailua-Kona and saw something different each time. Jackie was available to answer questions and help out when needed. George and Gwen Radimer St Augustine, FL

    • Lovely space - amazing amount of room. Pretty far off the beaten path - so if you are looking for night-life, it would be a drive. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and an experience away from the tourists, this place is perfect. Lovely grounds. Our only regret si that we weren't there longer.

    • What a truly wonderful home to stay in, with everyting we could have wanted. The only problem was we wanted to see so much of Hawaii we couldn't take days off to enjoy living in such comfort! Thank you for sharing part of your history with us and we hope many more people will be able to enjoy the same.

    • The Marlin House was an amazing retreat on our vacation. The house had a wonderful, open floor plan and more than enough space...with everything you'd ever need! The grounds were so lush and beautiful and we enjoyed spending time in the hammock on the lanai. Jackie was such a wonderful host...we'll definitely be back - Mahalo.

    • Fantastic - more than enough room for our family of five, beautifully furnished, everything you need provided and a warm welcome from Jackie... If you want to be near a town forget it, otherwise I would (and have) recommend this place to anyone!

    • The Marlin House was everything it said it was. It reminded us of a museum as there were lots of Hawaiian stuff in the house. We enjoyed reading the book about Duke Kahanamoku! Exploring around the grounds, we found lots of avocados and passion fruit. They were delicious! We had a very pleasant visit. The kids loved it as well; there was lots of space for all of us. We really appreciated the help of Jackie with her note of welcome and suggestions of sites to visit. This was our second visit to the Big Island, the first spent in a home, a real Hawaiian one!

    • It was my second visit to the Big Island (the first one was 26 years ago) and I wanted to introduce the area to my wife and daughters with a different view than from a hotel or a resort where tourists are packed like sardines. We could not have picked a better place and I can say that Aline and I will probably return when it is possible for us to travel back to Hawaii; as for the girls (12 & 17), they had a great time feeding on the avocado, passion fruits, and macadamia nuts. Of course you need transportation but you do anyway if you want to truly enjoy the island. The help of the property manager was also wonderful and we felt that we were on our private island while we stay there. Highly recommended, especially if you love nature and comfort. • The Marlin house was spacious and beautifully furnished. It is well located as a base for seeing Volcanoes National Park (about 60 mile drive south and east, the night hike to the lava was amazing), the green sand beach (~25 miles south) the Place of Refuge (~15 miles north, great snorkeling), and Captain Cook (~20 miles north, great snorkeling and kayaking with dolphins). While we were there the passion fruit and avocado were all over, and there was some papaya. Our week there was great!
