Accommodations:  House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

Keywords:  House

Our custom built home is located in Killington on an acre of land, on a paved town road with other vacation homes. A second story has been added to make it bigger and even better.

The house now has a large kitchen-dining area on the first floor with a 24' cathedral ceiling and a large new Vermont Castings wood stove. Also on the first floor are 3 BRs, 1 &1/2 baths, an indoor sauna, and a shower room for two. A "sun burst" pattern of antique skis and bamboo poles is displayed on one wall, with more antique skis and snowshoes displayed on other walls.

The new second floor has a bedroom, full bath, a living area which extends the length of the house (40') and includes a sleeping alcove with a Murphy bed. There are three sofas (one a pull-out), several chairs and a recliner as well. The living area affords a winter view of the Green Mountains beyond the trees. A sliding glass door exits onto a large deck which descends to another deck facing the woods. The living area extends 17' into the house to a balcony overlooking the first floor dining area. The outdoor hot tub seats 4-5 comfortably, and is located on the upper deck.

The house is a five minute drive from the most popular lift areas, restaurants and night spots at Killington.
Summers are wonderful at Killington. Hike the Long Trail, take the lift up to the top of Killington with your mountain bike and ride the trails down, golf, swim, or sit on the deck of the Grist Mill, drink your Goombay Smash, and watch the sun set. If you're really feeling lazy, just sit on our deck, and listen to the breeze stir the leaves in the trees. In the evening, light a fire in the chiminea on the deck, and sit back and watch the flames, or look up and count shooting stars. For additional photos, contact by email.

Please note that we do not use the availability calendar. The house is taken 12/28/11 - 1/2/12.

Why the Owner Chose Killington

We bought the property when we started skiing at Killington in 1968, and built our house in 1979-80. We added the second floor in 2003 to make room for our growing family.

The Unique Benefits at this House

When we were thinking about what kind of vacation house we wanted, we made the decision to make the living areas as large as possible. The location of our house makes it possible to get to the slopes and area nightlife in a matter of minutes, and yet allows for the kind of peace and quiet that a condo can't compete with.

Skiing Killington from the UK

Had a great time in Vermont skiing. The house located in a very peacful location, surrounded by trees. The house was a great base for a family reunion and skiing holiday. We had three families (11 of us) staying for the week and the house was perfectly big enough to accomodate us all. Adequate shower and bathroom facilities even when returning exhausted from the slopes. The two lounge areas allowing the kids and adults to have their own space if wanted. The hot tub and sauna were well used and the computer with internet access was a particular hit with the kids, and a useful resource when we found our UK cell phones didn't pick up a signal in the mountains. The house is well situated for skiing - 5-10 min drive. We had two dumps of snow while there and the roads were snow ploughed very promptly ensuring no time was missed on the slopes and plenty of shovels to dig your car out. Plenty of restuarants and bars in Killington, but all need the car. House well equipped for self catering. On reflection there was nothing about the house that took away from the enjoyment of our holiday and would recommend to others.

Loved the house! I stayed for a long weekend with a small group of friends. It was clean, cozy, minutes away from bars and restaurants and has a wonderful hot tub and sauna for chilly night. Definitely would go back!

We recently stayed for three nights in early June. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 6 children. The weather was a washout for the most part, which made the house critical. This house was perfect, spacious and clean, convenient to all local activities. The open floor plan is great. All amenities were in good working order and we were very please with the overall experience. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Comment Text: We had a wonderful week in this charming friendly house with our American family. It is spacious and light, but warm and homely with the welcoming wood burning stove central to the house. The hot tub and sauna were essential after a long day skiing and it was delightful to relax in the hot tub under the stars, despite temperatures well below 0 degrees. The large dining table, next to the woodburner seated 10 of us easily and was a perfect spot for reminiscing over dinner late into the evening. Such an imaginative layout to this house with the living areas on both the ground and first floor. The children loved it and even with 10 of us in the house it never felt crowded. The large windows made for superb viewing of the wildlife with squirrels and birds in abundance. Great central position for skiing but would be beautiful in the summer as well. These all added up to make a great vacation with lots of happy memories. We would all love to come and stay here again!

We have rented this house for the same weekend three years in a row and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The house is well layout, with the kids upstairs and the adult downstairs. The location is convinient, the price reasonable and the facilities first rate.

We had a great time in your house! Even though we did not have good weather, we all enjoyed relaxing in the upstairs. More than enough seating room for everybody to be together comfortably. I highly recommend making use of the hot tub, especially at night when you can see the stars. I love how central it is to everything. I would definitely rent this house again.
