We had a very spur-of-the-moment trip to Big Bear over the weekend because of the snow that was forecasted. We scrambled to find someplace, and came across this cabin that was recommended to me. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we had an amazing time! The set-up was perfect for our 4 kids and grandma, as well as us. Games galore, movies, tons of room to play outside. Easy access to town. We couldn't have designed a better place for us to stay! We'll definitely be back!

Owner was very nice, quick to book, and accommodating. Family of 4, kids are 5 and 7. Spent time in village and zoo, but didn't have to leave cabin to enjoy ourselves. Went sledding behind cabin, nice walks to stream and pleanty of games and movies inside. Brought our own food to cook meals, stocked kitchen. Cozy fireplace, but purchase wood at home and brought there (less expensive). We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!

Used this place this past week as the family snowboard headquarters, six of us were very comfortable. Location is great to let kids run and play outside. Owner is one of the best I have dealt with through VRBO. I'm sure we will stay again
Owner response:You are so kind! Thanks and come again!

Location, location, location. This cabin was nearby the village, restaurants, and shops. The cabin was spacious and cozy, perfect for the entire family at a great price. Above all the owners were very helpful.

The cabin is close to Big Bear Boulevard which gives you easy access to everything, but it is set back on the mountain a bit with very few homes close by. It was a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Our kids had a great time sitting by the fire and watching movies on the DVD player and playing Guitar Hero on the Playstation. We also had fun a short drive down the road at Magic Mountain Snow Tubing and riding the Alpine Slide. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook all your meals or eat take-out from one of the local restaurants. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. We look forward to staying here again. The owner was very helpful and responded very quickly to our request to book the cabin, booking was completed the day before our arrival.
Owner response:Thanks so very much....and Come Again!

It was a nice cabin. Cozy and close to Snow Summit. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and 6-7 people can dine there comfortably. The foosball, mini-pool, and Guitar Hero was a plus, we had fun playing these games. Rooms were a little cold, but if you open all room doors, the heat will spread out from the living room. Charlotte was really nice and helpful.

Our first time in Big bear was wonderful! It ws raining on the 20th when we arrived, but we woke up to a winter wonderland. The kids played in the front yard for a couple of hours and then we took them sledding (tubing) at the Alpine Magic Mountain slide. It was $25 a kid for unlimited rides in a tube. The kids (age 7 and 9) had so much fun, but my husband and I could only stand the 32 degree weather for an hour. We came back to the house and played scrabble and watched Jack Frost. We will be back again. The cabin was a home away from home and we had such a lovely time.

Dec 10-17, 2010: Your Home is so comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed the Village shops and Boo Bear Restaurant where they had karaoke on a Sunday night. the kids and Dad enjoyed skiing and whe did manage to find some hills of snow to sled down behind the cabin a nice hike away. The game table was a "hit" with everyone as well as the board games. We also saw a show at the Village Theatre; everyone enjoyed "Tangled" at matinee prices with cookies and popcorn. It snowed on Thursday, Dec 16th! It was beautiful and the older kids were able to ski on fresh powder snow at Bear Mountain. We had a most enjoyable time her at the Rubicon. Truly a Home Away From Home. Merry christmas and a Happy New Year!

We had a great Thanksgiving here in the snow. We made several sled runs throughout the yard, and a couple of snowmen out front. Also, we saw the Christmas play at the Performing Arts Center. Santa showed up for breakfast at the Log Cabin. We all had a great time here in Big bear and especially enjoyed the snow. We built snow people-Snowman,Snow Woman, Snow Dog and Snow Cat!!!

This was a great place for our family to stay. We had a lovely week up in Big Bear at this cabin. We were close to the lake and the hiking trails. The cabin was comfortable and clean and exactly as advertised. Our kids loved playing with the games. We also really enjoyed having a picnic table just outside for eating lunches in the shade. The owner was great with communication. We'd love to come again!
Owner response:I love to share my cabin with families like yours! Thanks, and come again!

This was a wonderful get-away for the family. What a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains. Our whole family was very comfortable in your cabin. The kids loved the pool table, in fact one just like it is on the top of their christmas list for our family gift. They enjoyed the movies, toys and games. We enjoyed the comfortable beds, having all the comforts of home and the quiet location. Thie tire swing up the hil and the swim beach were both hits. Thank you for thinking of everything. The extras made our stay very comfortable. Plan to come again - Soon!

We rented this cabin for a week with our four kids and had a wonderful time. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, and clean with lots of games and activities for the kids. We spent a lot of time just hanging out, watching movies, cooking and BBQing. We also visited the Moonridge zoo for the feeding tour (which the kids love every time we are up in Big Bear), went hiking in the National Forest, and drove the dirt roads through Holcomb's valley. This cabin is a great place to stay, and we can't wait to go back. The only thing we missed was our dog, who had to stay home because this is a no-pets vacation rental.
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review! There is not a fenced yard, but well behaved dogs are allowed - please keep pets out of the bedrooms, and off the furniture. Do not leave the dogs free to roam the house when you are out. I have a gate to enclose them in the kitchen area, or better yet, use a crate. I have had scratched doors, and holes in the door screen from unattended dogs. No chewing puppies please. Use a leash outside, and clean up after your pet!

My family and friends just got back from our weekend trip to Big Bear. The cabin had everything we needed. The kids loved the gaming table and the spinning bar stools :) I loved seeing all the snow around the cabin. It was beautiful. The cabin is close to everything but still feels secluded. Charlotte is wonderful. She made all the arrangements easy and seamless and provided all the information you need for a visit in the mountains. Thank you for sharing your home, Charlotte.
Owner response:It makes me so happy to let other families enjoy Big Bear the way my family does! Thanks for the kind note!

Just returned home from our stay at the Rubicon in Big Bear Lake. Upon arrival, the place was very clean and full of all the ammenities that we needed. The kids loved all the movies, games and especially the game table (foozball was their favorite). The hike through the forest in the back yard was a highlight as well. With 4 adults and 4 kids the house was more that enough room for all of us comfortably. Charlotte made the rental and check in/out process very simple and easy and promptly answered any questions that came up. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and look forward to returning again someday soon.

I've stayed here numerous times for a girls weekend and have enjoyed it very much. We have gone up during the winter, spring and summer and have a great experience each time. The accommodations are clean and have everything we would every need...including a great game table. I would highly recommend this for your family or if you too are planning a girls get away!
Owner response:Thanks! You are the best of guests, and welcome to visit any time!

We had such a amazing experience using the cabin for a family reunion. My kids thought this was the greatest place on earth! We hiked, boated and played games in the cabin. There was enough room for all of us and the kitchen set up was great. We would travel the 13 hours again, it was definitely worth it!

We had an amazing time and will go back very soon. The fireplace, the games, comfortable beds, large TV and library of movies, made it such a comfortable and easy retreat for our family. The kitchen was full stocked and was perfect for our Thanks Giving feast. It was minutes from the downtown but fealt like it was miles away from everything. Just a beautiful cabin which exceeded all our expectations.

We just got back from the cabin and we couldn't have had a better time. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you would need. The instructions provided and in the cabin provided everything we needed to know. The location is great with quick access to the lake, and great hiking right from the back yard. Great setup if you have kids too. The owners were more than accomodating and very pleasant. We are going back again next weekend!
