Rate Details (In US Dollars)
Summer Rates: $600/night; $4000/week, June 1 through Labor Day.
Regular off season: $425/night or $2775/week, Sept. 6 to June 1, 2012.
$500 deposit, non-refundable for cancellations less than 30 days before occupancy.
Balance due two weeks before occupancy.
10% tax plus cleaning will be added. Two-night minimum.

Why the Owner Chose Carnelian Bay
Our great-grandparents camped at the Lake, near Tahoe City, starting in the early 1900s. Our grandparents continued the tradition, camping at Bliss State Park each summer. Our parents purchased this lakeside retreat in 1974, continuing a happy tradition of summer on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Comfortable, charming and convenient, with beautiful views of crystal-blue water and snow-kissed mountains. The private beach and lake shore provide a welcome retreat from civilization. A lakeside public path, which meanders north along the shore, delivers you to of Carnelian Bay and its 3 restaurants, store, post office, public beaches and pier — the site of the annual Wooden Boat Show.
The Abbe Cabin shoreline is perfect for launching your kayak, swimming, and playing.
Walk the path along the Lake to a public pier and beach. Just beyond the Sierra Boatworks you'll find a second beach with trees and picnic tables.
Carries daily NY Times, Sac Bee, SF Chronicle, Reno Gazette, and, of course, Slurpees.

Our grandparents honeymooned at Tahoe in the 1920s. We are four sisters who love family time at the cabin. Our own children have grown up here, and the next generation is now loving it!

What a truly special place! We stayed in the Abbe Cabin this year between Christmas and New Years and it made our holiday truly memorable. The ever changing view from the lake was spectacular -- we could not get enough of it. We happily cooked dinner every night just to enjoy the coziness of the cabin and the fire. It was an easy drive to Northstar to ski. Thanks to the Abbe family for sharing this wonderful family retreat with us.

We had a fabulous family reunion and 4th July stay at the Abbe Cabin and enjoyed the distant view of the fireworks going off around the lake on a wonderful, balmy, moonlit night. We were three sibling families reuniting after an emigration to the US twenty years earlier from England. Magical! Enjoyed a fabulous celebration dinner at Garwoods, the service was awesome they were very sweet about our reason for celebrating and certainly made us feel very special. Thanks so much for sharing your gem with us.

We stayed at this beautiful compound in April, 2009 with some very good friends, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The main house, the kitchen and the two guest houses are tastefully decorated and amazingly well equiped. We've stayed at many VRBOs and had great experiences, but this is the best equiped home we've been privileged to be in.

Having brought our two families to North Tahoe for 15 years, never have we felt so immediately welcome and right at home. Beach, skiing, rock collecting and great food. Loved spending the last night roasting marshmallows around the fire. Thank you so much for sharing such a great getaway!
