Tired of climbing stairs, narrow canals and no privacy? We were! That's why we love this home in Cudjoe Gardens. You'll feel relaxed and welcome on our 120' wide lot with large, wider canals, clear flowing waters, and plenty of parking space.
This ground level home means no stairs to climb, no hauling luggage or fishing gear up and down. And, on those few days when there is rain, don't worry. Just pull into the garage and walk directly into the home. No dashing up exterior stairs with wet groceries.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The Cudjoe Gardens Marina and boat ramp is just down the street. For the fisherman and/or diver this is a great benefit! One of the best boat ramps in the Keys, fuel, bait, dive tank refills, and boat mechanic close buy, yet out of sight.

I spent the month of April 2011 in Rumrunner's Retreat and was very pleased with this home. We ate breakfast every morning in the lanai. The foliage around the lanai provides great privacy. I also like the home's layout because the 2 bedrooms & baths are split, each on opposite ends of the house. The house was very clean and well furnished. The kitchen is well-stocked and for the fishermen, there is more than adequate refrigeration/freezer space for the fresh catch. The boat dock is all concrete and in excellent condition. This is a perfect house for those that don't like to climb stairs. The only negatives I experienced were that my cell phone did not work at the house. I could walk down to the end of the street and have service. However, I will say that my sister's cell phone worked fine in the house. Also, there was a lot of construction noise next door, where a major remodel was going on. The contractors started work every morning by 7 a.m. I'm sure that work is completed by now. I would definitely recommend this property for couples looking for a nice, relaxing vacation rental that is still within easy driving distance of activities in Key West or Marathon. A restaurant called The Square Grouper is an excellent place to try out, and is a mile or less from the house. There is also a convenience mart within 1/2 mile. If I return to the Keys, I will certainly check to see if this property is available. The owner is very easy to work with, and there were no glitches in the rental process before, during or after. She answered every email question I sent her way very promptly. Thank you, Dawn, for allowing me to enjoy your home!
