This beautiful oceanfront home offers a 1000 square foot Great Room with soaring ceilings, striking crown moldings, and a huge Marble Fireplace. Almost every room has dazzling Atlantic Ocean views. The oceanfront Azure Blue pool is surrounded by decking and is located between the house and the Atlantic Ocean. Both the open kitchen and dining areas have vast ocean views. The dining area seats 14 and displays a grand chandelier, stunning antique table, handsome marble counters and hardwood floors. The kitchen appliances include a 4 burner Thermador professional gas/electric range with a stainless steel designer hood, an Advantium Microwave/Convection oven, two coffee pots, a GE double door refrigerator with through door water/ice dispenser, a super silent GE dishwasher and a travertine tiled bar, with prep sink that seats six or more.
A brand new wooden walkway leads from Yellowdog's lawn, over the dunes to the beach.

Enjoying a Lovely Evening & a Beautiful View on Hilton Head Island

Upon arrival at this luxury, beachfront home, I had no idea what was in store for me. The bright, airy ambiance lifted my spirits “beary” high and I couldn't keep my eyes off the sweeping ocean views from nearly every room in the house. In this day and age, many seek a place where they can find comfort & serenity, somewhere they can escape from it all and most importantly, somewhere to spend quality time with friends and family. While staying in this beautiful house, I was able to find all of this and more.
Three of the six lovely bedrooms had private verandas where you could sit and watch the dolphins at play or take in a sunset or two. The two-story, open living area was an enjoyable place to interact, relax and enjoy the large dining area which seated up to 10. The main floor master suite had French doors, which opened to the deck, pool and never-ending ocean views. The jetted tub in the bath had shutters, which opened into the bedroom, allowing you to enjoy the views while taking a relaxing bubble bath.
If you enjoy a good, home cooked meal, I found the kitchen very well- equipped with appliances. Plus, there was a lovely, wood patio table in the back, with plenty of additional seating on the large deck to enjoy a juicy steak or seafood on the grill… my favorite! During a hot summer day, the kids can play in the private, heated pool, while the adults lounge in one of several Adirondack chairs. The owner even provides several beach toys and towels for use during your stay.
Rain or shine, the Yellowdog ByThe Sea home had a variety of nearby activities for the young and the young-at-heart to choose from. A walk down to the seashore to dip my "bear" feet in the water turned into a quest to find sand dollars peeking though the surface. Friendly, local people showed me the easiest way to find these beautiful treasures. A five minute walk north along the coast brought me to a small village atmosphere, boasting several fine and casual restaurants, gift and ice cream shops, and even a theater! A stroller for the little ones was available to make the beach walking a little easier and there were flashlights for adventurers who preferred to beach comb by moonlight.
Oh, how I wished to linger and relax for just a few more days. To stretch out by the pool, enjoying a glass of sweet tea and savoring every moment of my vacation experience in the south!

Why the Owner Chose Private HomesLiving on Hilton Head since 1995 we had a chance to very closely consider in which oceanfront community to invest. When we sold Yellowdog #1, a gorgeous North Forest Beach, 3rd row, 5 bedroom 4.5 bathroom home, that Rosie had renovated/rebuilt in 1998/9, we were in a position to finally buy an oceanfront property. We chose a 3 bed 2 bath beach cottage at 27 Dune Lane as the location for "Yellowdog by the Sea", i.e., Yellowdog #2. Dune Lane, in North Forest Beach is one of the best oceanfront streets on Hilton Head Island and the homes between Dove Street and Heron Street are particularly sought after because of the close proximity to Coligny Plaza. Most of the homes are set up high, offering wonderful wide ocean views and the homes are 50 feet or less from the white sandy beach, that we love so much.

While this home is lovely, the owner's attention to detail and customer service is very poor. This year we rented the Yellowdog for a week along with another family. We paid Andre a deposit so that we could bring along our small dog as well. He has never repaid us the deposit! Here are the issues we encountered during our stay from an e-mail I sent to him upon our return from the vacation. That was in April. I never heard back from him until November: - From day one of our visit the ice maker in the refrigerator. You promised to have someone look into fixing the problem. A week later we were still hauling 10 lb. bags of ice from the Piggly Wiggly at a significant price. We purchased 8 bags of ice. - I can't believe that you never responded to the call about the leak from the bathroom above the kitchen. Tim and his wife did not use the shower after their first use in respect to your property and possibly further damaging your ceiling. Honestly, they paid money to be able to use their bathroom shower. Instead, they used their son's room's bathroom to help you out. Your ceiling will now need repair and it should have been addressed immediately. - Your use of a timer to only circulate water in the swimming pool left the water dirty with pollen, bugs, leaves. Why not spend a few dollars more a week to leave the pump running all of the time. The pool water was at times disgusting and required our time to skim off the debris before getting into the water. - The deck is in need of repair or replacement. I spent time digging splinters out of my own body and my wife's knee. No one dared walk on the deck barefooted. Planks were loose, rusty nails were working their way out of the planking and an elderly person might fall on them. Some of your posts around the pool are rotting and in dire need of paint. - Your door knobs are in need of tightening. - There is mold growing in the upper corner of the downstairs master shower. - The handle on the guest toilet on the main floor was broken so we could not use it. - The igniter on the fireplace does not work. - You said that you were going to get two bottles of LP to hook up to the grills. You did one. On that grill, at least one of the burners don't work. I had to find a candle from your hurricane supplies to light with a match, life up the grate and ignite the grill. The other grill would have been nearly impossible to use. I would NOT recommend that you rent this house!

We were the paying guests of Yellowdog-by-the-sea from 9/18-9/25. The weather was perfect, the unobstructed ocean view gorgeous, and the house was just the best. We walked to Coligny Plaza, which made our vacation even nicer because we could get our newspapers within 10 minutes of our leaving the house. All-in-all, after 25 years of visiting Hilton Head Island, we have found the perfect spot. Thank you, Rosie and Andre. You are very gracious hosts. Kathleen

Hi Andre, Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful 4 days we spent at your beautiful home. It really couldn't have gone better! The weather and accomodations were perfect. Many of the couples enjoyed walking to the plaza on several occasions. It was really great and Brian was so surprised. We certainly had every room full as 5 other couples joined us. We loved strolling the beach every morning and loved seeing all of the dolphins. Our vacation was perfect!!! Thanks again for everything. Tracey
