This landmark property was built in 1922 by renowned architect, George Washington Smith. He is famous for his Spanish Colonial revival architecture. The apartment, a later addition, is surrounded by lovely gardens, fountains and original Mission grove olive trees. This cozy upstairs apartment is located just one block from the Santa Barbara Mission. Walking to downtown Santa Barbara is a delightful 20 minute stroll through a historic neighborhood filled with great architecture and gardens.
This delightful upstairs apartment has one bedroom, bathroom and a full kitchen combined with a living/dining room overlooking the gardens. The apartment is light, airy and very private. A gas fireplace, fully appointed kitchen and support from native Santa Barbara hosts make this a very special experience. Our gardens have been the chosen location for several Santa Barbara weddings. Outdoor fountains, beautiful landscaping, brick patios and established lawns make this an ideal location for weddings and other events. The upstairs apartment is perfect for the bride and her attendants to prepare for the wedding.

We are long time residents of Santa Barbara and have always loved the "Upper East" neighborhood as it is graced with historical homes. We are walking distance to the heart of downtown where you can find great restaurants, movie theatres, art galleries and shops.
The Unique Benefits at this Guest Apartment
Our home is on a large lot with beautiful gardens to enjoy. We love sitting outside with a fire in the fireplace and a glass of wine at sunset. The courtyard is our favorite "room" of the house. We have a wonderful 4 yr. old Australian Shepard that welcomes our guests with his gentle presence.
