With two floors of living space, you have lots of room to spread out - give the kids their own floor, or comfortably accommodate two families with this great floor plan! We even have a high chair and pack-n-play onsite for our littlest guests' use (you can bring 9 if one of 'em will use the pack n play)!
This two floor loft villa has a nice sized bedroom upstairs (pictured) with a full bath attached; an open loft bedroom next to it with a twin/double bunk setup that sleeps three comfortably; and the downstairs master bedroom (also pictured), full bath, and kitchen (pictured), dining area (pictured), and cathedral ceiling living room with pullout couch downstairs. Each room has a ceiling fan to keep the cool breezes moving! We're continually upgrading the villa - just finished painting a few rooms and installing new ceiling fans, a new refrigerator and dishwasher, and new mattresses for both queen-sized beds...
We've LOADED this unit with lots of 'extras' to make your stay easier and more fun -- in addition to the basic amenities of a coffee maker and toaster, our kitchen includes both a microwave and toaster oven for quick heating/crisping, 2 blenders for making those frozen drinks (no waiting - make two different flavors at once! We make an 'original' and 'virgin' version of the same drinks so everyone is included!); a waffle maker to help you 'cater in' breakfast in the morning - just make your own waffles to order!; and a George Foreman Grill when you don't want to bother with lighting up the outdoor grill (great for cooking a few hot dogs or hamburgers to get the little ones fed quickly) We have a washer and dryer (you supply your own laundry soap, please), 2 DVD players (living room and downstairs bedroom), a DVD library, VHS players (up and down) with a VHS library, and multiple TVs throughout the unit to keep everyone entertained when you're not at the beach. We've got a hot air popcorn popper so you can do "movie night" at the villa, and cable TV with tons of channels! This is all in addition to the standard amenities such as new full-sized refrigerator complete with icemaker, new ceramic top stove, new dishwasher, standard spices (set of 12) for your use when cooking, and full sets of dishes, glassware, silverware, and pots and pans...
We are located outside downtown, on the ocean beachside of Highway 361 -- so you can walk to the nice ocean waves and white sandy beaches rather than be on the channel side with an inlet and no waves. The unit has a minimum two night rental requirement (three nights on holidays), and is a short five minute walk to the beach via the wood boardwalk. Sorry, but there are NO PETS allowed (in the entire condo complex - not just our rules) and this is a NON-SMOKING only unit.
There are two pools on property (pictured is the one just outside our villa) as well as sports courts (tennis and basketball). Best of all is a wash station right at the boardwalk entrance - you can rinse off all that sand and salt and leave it all outside! We also leave sand toys for your use - the sand toys are onsite so you don't have to drag your little ones' toys with you if you don't want to! [PLEASE remember to leave the toys when you depart so they're there for the next guests...]
Leave your cares behind as you stroll the beach at sunrise... Sip a cool drink from our second floor "sunset balcony" off the back second floor bedroom, while the sun slips down the horizon. Watch the lights of Corpus Christi twinkling in the distance in the evenings... or view the stars in all their glory.
We are down the road from horseback riding and fishing; downtown has lots of great restaurants and bars, and plenty of shopping. Don't have a bathing suit that fits - just buy one here at one of the many stores that have a huge selection!
You are also 30 mins away from Corpus Christi, where a visit to the USS Lexington or the Texas Aquarium are perfect alternatives to the beach. Or go a few miles north to Rockport, for a day of art galleries and jewelry shopping... there's so much to do!
Now for the boring stuff - pricing:
Pricing is in tiers - there are different prices for summer vs. low season, spring break, and holidays vs. non-holiday weekends, so read the pricing dates carefully to make sure you're selecting the correct level. This is all detailed in the pricing section below - just find the dates that apply to you! Holidays are 3 days at the higher rate, and a 3 day minimum rental; if you rent for 6 days, as an example, you are charged 3 days at the holiday rate and 3 days at the non-holiday rate (and if you rent for 7 days, the lower rate night is the free night).
We accept credit card payment for a small 3% fee -- this allows you to immediately book your vacation once we confirm receipt -- what could be easier!
Please - NO MORE THAN 8 OCCUPANTS - THIS IS THE INSURANCE LIMIT unless 1 is an infant and sleeps in the pack n play. You will be required to check in at the office when you arrive in order to get a parking pass for each car.
While we encourage you to contact us IMMEDIATELY if you are renting the unit and there is an emergency. Otherwise, please let us know about issues WHILE YOU ARE THERE, as there are no refunds issued after you check out. We ask that you only call between 9 am and 10 pm for non-emergencies - thanks!
Cancellation policy:
You may cancel 30 days or more in advance with no penalty. Within 15-30 days - a 25% penalty applies; within 14 days, no refunds (unless we can re-rent your dates).
Hurricanes - if the island is evacuated by the government, of course your money is refunded. Otherwise, cancellation policy applies.

Why the Owner Chose El Cortez Villas
We came for a quick vacation and fell in love - with the layout (up and down bedrooms so kids and adults each have their own space), the ability to share the place with another family, the proximity of the big clean pool, and the reasonable price (relatively speaking) -- we bought this gem the same weekend we first visited! We've been slowly upgrading the unit as time and money allows, and thank you for taking good care of it! We live about 4 hours away and get down whenever we can... and have a great local staff there (handyman and cleaner) who'll take care of you when we can't! It's our dream beach home - and we want to share it with you!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
Our place is far enough from town that it is quiet, close enough that you can ride a bike in (3 mi), and our rental rates are very reasonably priced compared to other units we looked at. We're able to offer this great place at a value to our guests, and they can relax knowing that they're walking distance to the beach, there's a pool within a few feet, and great amenities like grills, fish cleaning station, tennis and basketball courts, and well-maintained grounds.

Our family of 6, and a friend, came for a visit last month, and we loved it here! VERY reasonably priced, a short walk to the beach, and everything you could possibly need for a relaxing long weekend! We will definitely be asking for another week next summer!

We found the villa exactly what we were looking for. It is within a reasonable distance to walk to the beach. Did find that we could drive down and park to haul our umbrellas and tent for the day and walk to the villa for lunch and restroom. Villa was clean and comfortable and had what we needed.

My family and I and an awesome time. The beach was within walking distance so there was no sand in the cars. The pool was a nice refreshing place to cool off after the beach. The house was fully equipped and ready for any cooking that you needed to do, We will enjoy coming back again and again.

Easy to find, close to Port Aransas 'stuff'...restaraunts, bars, etc..., easy walk to the beach and great beach house! Our only complaint is that the pool is not great for small kids as there is no shallow end. It's 3+ feet at the low end, so we had no place for the little ones to play in the pool. Otherwise, the house was great - plenty of plates/cups/utensils and towels. Showers were strong with plenty of hot water. AC worked great and blew hard so the place stayed nice and cool - cable TV is a great touch esp with small kids so we could watch shows in the AM. The bad part about visiting this time of year (for us in late May) was that the tide brought all the seaweed up close and there was pretty much no room on the beach for the kids to play. We could only really enjoy the beach area in the afternoon/evening.

We enjoyed our stay at your villa , It was comfy and clean. A very nice walk to the beach. I would recommend this for a girl's getaway, or families. The beach is a little further from town, so not as crowded. As for my family, we like to take a vehicle to the beach to park.(we have a 4 year old and lots of beach gear). It was a several mile drive to the beach access road, and several mile drive to our area. The villa was well provided. My suggestions to you: a little more organized kitchen. There were no empty cabinets to put our food and dry goods. It made the small kitchen seem much smaller with dry foods all over every surface. With small children coming, the small sofa in the loft should not be placed by opening. There was a loose board on the patio towards the sidewalk that could be unsafe for a small child. We had dishwasher problems, and a blackout on that part of the island for several hours one evening. We DID have a wonderful time, and enjoyed our stay. WE are Gram, 3 grown sons, my daughter-in-law, and 4 year old grandson. This is my Christmas present to them each year.

We loved having two floors of living - a full bedroom and bath on each floor - with the sleeper sofa for downstairs and the single/double bunk bed upstairs (although the kids all ended up staying upstairs as a 'sleepover'!). Kitchen had everything we needed (and then some - two blenders, etc.!) and we love the pool and the short 5 min walk to the beach... We hope to make this an annual event (if not 2x/year) and loved how responsive and pleasant the owners were - their "helpful packing list" made sure we didn't forget something, or bring something we didn't need (like a cooler with wheels, as they provide one); and two sets of keys meant we could come and go as we pleased. We LOVED it!

Enjoyed our stay at the home. Great renters, very responsive! The place was well kept and plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The pool is only about 20 yards from the front door and the beach about a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay and really enjoyed ourselves - the unit was spacious but could use some good steak knives! Some recommendations for future guests would be the evening cruise with Stray Cat Catamaran and Captain Chester http://www.straycatsailingadventures.com/index.html. We had an fantastic, yet inexpensive, evening with Chester and his son Charlie on their catamaran. We found several pods of dolphins, and our daughter was able to get some truly fantastic pictures of them up close. He also took us to San Jose island where we explored the beach. Another activity, free by the way, is watching the baby sea turtle hatchling release at the Padre Island National Park. More info on how to find dates and times of releases can be found at http://www.nps.gov/pais/naturescience/releases.htm For restaurants, of course we recommend the Crazy Cajun, but don't eat all day so that you can stuff yourself. Also, Kody's had the most delicious fried oysters.

We had 8 people (4 adults, 3 teenagers, 1 child) staying here. We loved "wanting" to go back to the condo because we were all so comfortable there. There was great weather the entire time. With a washer & dryer in our rental, to only come home needing to do one load of clothes really made for a relaxing homecoming, so the vacation continued. Nice and quiet and clean! The entire complex is very nice. The only negative issue was the pool closest to our place got about 2 feet too low and stayed there for the final 2 days of our stay. This wasn't horrible as there are two pools on the grounds. Only one suggestion to the landlords: Maybe have two keys on the key chain. We had two adult couples and we had to arrange to be home at the same time due to a single key. Yes, we could have put it back in the lock box, but again, it would have been better to simply have two keys. Thanks again for the awesome vacation!

We certainly enjoyed our July 4th at the Villa. The house was clean and had all the necessary cookware. We swam in both pools and used the outdoor pinic tables. The fireworks in Port Aransas were the greatest! The island has great food, golf, mini-golf and shopping for souvieners. We had a wonderful time.
